When God redirects our journeys, it is always for His purpose and His plan. Ruth learned this truth through tragedy and a redirected path. No matter where you find yourself today, God is there with you, causing all things to work together for good. Trust Him--He has you and yours in the palm of His hand.

Our trials often hold a greater purpose than what we can see and understand. God allows situations into our lives as tools in His hands. It’s not about the trial but about what God wants to do in and through the trial.

See your placement and position as an assignment from the Lord, with the promise that He will never leave you nor forsake you. Onward mighty women and men of God, the Lord is up to something where He has positioned you. Trust Him! Open up your ears and listen—and your eyes to watch, for you never know when the day will come when you too will be called—for such a time as this—to be used greatly for God’s Kingdom. Be ready!

Countless people today are nurturing their pasts with great care. Instead of bringing their history to Christ, they have continued to advance with broken hearts over past failures with which they never have dealt. As a result, many remain captives of their former days, allowing the emotion of shame to rule instead of the peace of God. I know firsthand how painful and scary it is to bring our pasts to Christ, but I also know the freedom that comes from doing so. I had to entrust not only my past to God, but my disappointment and shame as well.

Embracing the new thing God is doing in my life has not always been easy, but I can say with certainty that it has always been worth it. I never dreamed God would call this small-town girl to travel down the paths He has called me to travel. Yet, I am so thankful He gave me the grace to answer His call.

One day as I was carrying out my normal routine, the memory of a past offense abruptly caught me off guard. Out of nowhere, the intruder captivated my mind in an attempt to draw my attention to the previous hurt it had once inflicted. As I found myself dwelling on the particular action, my emotions were reaping the consequence of such thinking. However, before it was allowed to linger any longer, the Lord intervened. Suddenly, I heard the Holy Spirit whisper to my soul, “Look at the lesson not the offense.” I knew immediately what the Lord was steering me to remember.

Oftentimes we allow the scene in front of us to speak louder than God's Word. And when we do—it affects our faith. God instructed Jeremiah to do something, which—due to the hopeless picture surrounding him—did not make sense to him at first. However, the view from God's lens was entirely different. While Jeremiah only saw destruction, God saw hope and restoration. Remember, God's Word to you will always trump the scene in front of you. Do not let the enemy capture your hope! Believe!
