THE TRIFECTA IS BACK! It was Corbin's turn to pick and franchise and he chose one near and dear to his heart. Alien vs Predator (2004)! Some say this movie hasn't aged well, some say it is one of the worst examples of PG-13 Horror, and some even say this movie is aggressively mediocre. These statements are all objectively correct; however they don't explain just how weird of an experience it is to have seen this movie contemporary to when it released and then watching it again almost 20 years later with a critical eye. Just how critical are our eyes? Why does Bobby have a false memory involving this movie? In the final episode of the Corbinless arc, Bobby and Allen break down just how purely mediocre See No Evil 2 (2014) truly is!  Make no mistake it is CERTAINLY a better movie than its predecessor, however that is a hilariously low bar to pass.  I'm potentially being a bit too harsh, but this film does not need to exist at all.  Is it better?  Yes.  Did we enjoy it more?  That's a little harder to answer.  While See No Evil (2006) is awful, it is often quite funny. In a week where Bobby and Allen have been given the reigns to the show while Corbin is off galivanting in Disney World the show basically goes off the rails without Corbin's guiding presence.  Dear listener we knew this would happen so we filled these two weeks of Corbinlessness with a duology that does not need to taken seriously in any capacity, See No Evil.  This movie is one of the most unintentionally funny film we have watched for the show in awhile.  There is almost nothing to take seriously in this film even though the movie REALLY wants the audience to care for awful characters.  How funny is it?  Are there any chokeslams? The time has come dive fully into over the top Christ like metaphors. Today we wrap up the Hell House Saga with Hell House LLC 3 Lake of Fire (2019).  We have had an absolute blast coming back around and finishing this series off, which was not exactly what we expected.  Found footage horror has a hard time capturing the magic of what makes it scary and intense, yet these 3 movies have managed to do it three separate times.  Its astounding and very rare to see in the genre.  However, we have a job to do on this show, and as you know that is to determine if Hell House LLC 3 is essential. Ghoulies 3 is exactly what you think it is.  A movie will little to no effort that feels as if it is just phoning in most if not all of the production.  Does this mean the movie is bad?  Oh, certainly.  However, there are bits and pieces of fun to be had throughout the film, but they by no means outweigh the malaise that is the rest of this movie.  We often laud bad films that are actually fun, this is not one of them.  Is it so bad it needs to be seen by the horror audience as a whole? Back from our holiday break to finish the Texas Chainsaw Massacre Remake Duology with The Texas Chainsaw Massacre: The Beginning (2006)! Does this movie recycle elements from The 2003 Remake? If there was ever a duology that benefits from viewing close to each other, The Shining and Doctor Sleep benefit GREATLY by watching in close succession.  Doctor Sleep is unironically the sequel no one asked for, but its great that it exists to bring life to this level of the Tower in Stephen Kings universe.  If you enjoy a Bobby and Allen gush fest well this is the second episode in a row where that is going to be the case.  Will Doctor Sleep be able to hold up to its predecessor? We have finally made it through the Insidious Franchise? Insidious probably has the most jump scares per capita compared to just about any other movie that exists.  It does heavily rely on these for the core crux of the horror, which is one of the larger issues with this film.  There is nothing really scary in this film minus the jump scares and MAYBE the sound track. This week we had the misfortune of experiencing My Best Friend's Exorcism (2022)!  I cannot lie, this movie is a mess of wasted opportunities and cowardice galore.  This movie is the softest R rated movie we have seen in a very long time, minus the language this film does NOTHING to earn an R rating.  The reason I even bring this up is because it shows that this film completely missed the mark on just about all fronts.  How bad does a movie have to be to be endearing?  Should we be judging this movie what what it isn't instead of what it is? We have made it back around to the Horror Anthology classic, V/H/S (2012).  One of the films in part responsible for a revival in short form horror, VHS manages to set the tone of both the film itself and the franchise it would become from it's very first short.  The 5 short stories all told with some connecting fibers in between all have a common feel of horror more than many other movies we have covered for the show.  Just how scary are these films? In our backfill month, it only seemed appropriate to sit down and talk about the alternate history classic The Purge (2013)!  This franchise has one of the most recognizable aesthetics in recent memory.  This movie does the leg work for the birth of a massively popular franchise, its amazing it took us this long to finally go back and cover it.  A movie sent in an alternate America where 1 time per year all crime is legal, and many Americans seem to participate in this slaughter.  The haves and the have nots are on full display in this completely apolitical film.  Regardless of all of that though, as much as we have gushed about the aesthetic of this film does that push it over the edge into the essential territory?  Listen in and find out! The Exorcist (1973) is a movie without reproach.  A vast majority of this show is purely Bobby and Allen gushing about just how much they loved the film.  There are times in the show were we keep the wall up in terms of our opinions on the movie too early on.  This is not one of them.  Whether its the perfect pacing, horrifying imagery, or ominous soundtrack The Exorcist is the perfect possession film.  All other possession films are trying to do what the Exorcist did.  Regardless of that though, we have to answer the all important question.  Is it essential? Mad God (2022) a stop motion film thirty years in the making has recently released, and right off the bat the stop motion animation of this film is some of the greatest in all filmmaking.  We the audience are dropped into this disgusting twisted world of filth and destitution galore.  In the field of death there is a very strange beauty that is personified throughout the film.  As it is known, we have shot down films that are lauded and loved by many as not essential.  This movie still needs to earn it essentiality, does it?
