144: 🧗Overcoming loneliness after a breakup (special vacation re-post!) 🧗

Happy Ex-Philes Day! This week I have a double dropped episode for you. There is always a special reason for a re-posted episode over here in Ex-Philes Land and this week it is because I am all the way down in New Zealand visiting guest co-host Jessie Maree and well, things don’t always go according to schedule when you take a trip like this. Today’s episode is one of the most important that I’ve done. That is because fear and discomfort around being alone causes a lot of people to get stuck in their healing journey and causes a lot of people to make choices and decisions that are less than optimal for long-term happiness. Whether you are unsure where to start with your loneliness journey or want to add more power to your single life, this episode is for you. Enjoy! Want one-on-one support? 138: 🛀 Self-soothing after a breakup 🛀

I believe that we can all overcome loneliness and fulfill our own emotional needs, even with anxious attachment. This doesn’t mean that there are huge benefits to having a support network, but when we are able to look after ourselves these networks become stronger and more meaningful. Learning to self-soothe is one way that we can prevent loneliness and develop self-trust after a breakup. I have been on a personal journey with building this muscle over the last several years and know how life-changing it can be. In today’s episode, I discuss: -What it means to self-soothe -How self-soothing relates to your attachment style and moving from an insecure attachment to a secure attachment style -My experience learning how to self-soothe -How self-soothing strengthens your friendships -Beginner’s tips You’ve got this! 126: 🔥 HOT Dating After Divorce 🔥

Dating after divorce can be nerve-wracking and many people feel that they don’t know what they are doing. But the good news is that there are SO many resources available and so many people both paving the way and teaching others what they have learned. One of these people is my friend and colleague, Brian Dunn. Brian works specifically with people navigating the crazy world of dating and courtship following their divorces. He speaks from experience; he dated 100 people in the first 15 months following his divorce and felt more confident AND competent with each new experience he had. I think Brian is an inspiration to men who desire more confidence with women, especially after being out of the “dating game” for a long period of time. We all have to start somewhere, right? 125: 🛑 Stop Victim Blaming 🛑

125: 🛑 Stop Victim Blaming 🛑

TRIGGER WARNING: Victim blaming, sexual assault, domestic violence Victim blaming occurs when the victim of a crime is held partially or fully responsible for the actions taken against them. It is particularly prevalent when it comes to domestic violence and sexual assault. The impacts on victims are often long-term and have devastating consequences. It is also one of the reasons victims keep things to themselves, stay in dangerous situations, and decide not to report. Victim blaming needs to stop. As part of the Ex-Philes commitment to Domestic Violence Awareness Month, I am partnering up with my good friend Christine to talk about the victim blaming that we have experienced, the impacts it had on our lives, and how YOU can become part of the solution instead of the problem. 👉Take a stand! Please share this episode on social media this month to help raise awareness about the impacts of victim blaming. Please go show Christine some love!
