Rock the Boat
Sermon Series: Rock the Boat
Jesus transformed the world through radical love, hospitality and grace. But what does it look like to live like Jesus? Join us as we explore the story of one of Jesus’ most vocal disciples, Peter, and learn that the path of living like Jesus isn’t linear – it meanders, and it isn’t comfortable – it takes us to unexpected places. You’re invited to shake up your life and find an even greater one with Jesus.

The Courage to Live
This Week: The Courage to Live
In a dangerous world, it’s easy to put on armor to protect yourself. The armor of cynicism, of indifference, of distance. But our armor that we use to protect us also cuts us off from the things we most desire. Luke tells a powerful story about a woman who courageously sought healing from Jesus despite what others might think about her. Join us as we imagine the courage to feel again.

What Does It Mean to Be Perfect?
This Week: “What Does it Mean to Be Perfect as God is Perfect?”
Feeling exhausted by the relentless pursuit of perfection? Struggling with low self-esteem because you never feel “good enough”? Find liberation and hope this week as we ask “What Does it Mean to Be Perfect as God is Perfect?”
Sermon Series: Real Questions
People have plenty of questions, but the church doesn’t always feel like a safe place to ask them. In Real Questions, we will engage with real faith questions submitted from our community. Some of the questions might seem irreverent and you might wonder if it’s okay to talk about. If we only answer safe questions, we aren’t actually safe for questions. There aren’t always easy answers, but there is always an opportunity to grow and find God in the midst of life’s questions.

Love Sometimes Breaks the Rules
This Week: Why did God allow the killing of innocent children in the Old Testament?

In the face of this difficult question, we’ll hear about a surprising principle – the virtue of disobedience. Join us as we read the stories of people who stood up to Pharaoh in the face of unjust policies.

Is God a Good Neighbor?
This Week: Is God a Good Neighbor?
What made the Good Samaritan Good? He saw the need of his neighbor and acted on their behalf. But what about God? This week’s question asks whether God has asked us to care for our neighbors in distress while potentially not doing so Himself. This week we’re discussing when God doesn’t seem to act for those in distress.

The Musical Battle
Today’s Message: The Musical Battle
Does drama exhaust you? When you’re faced with toxic environments it’s easy to become toxic too. This week, we’re reading an out of the box story about the time God told Israel’s army to not enter a battle and instead to put the musicians in the front lines of the battle. Join us as we reflect on God’s wisdom for times of conflict.
Series: Out of the Box

We imagine we know how the world works, and how our story works, but too often our lives are bogged down because we can’t imagine a better possibility for ourselves. Shrinking and Growing
Today’s Message: Shrinking and Growing
It’s always tough to lose your supporters, your allies, you teammates, your friends. If you combine shrinking support with feeling inadequate, it becomes really difficult to overcome the challenges in front of us. In the Book of Judges, God had some strange advice to Gideon which might just empower you to face your fears. Join us as we examine how to face the challenges ahead even when we feel inadequate.

Seeing Beneath the Surface
Today’s Message: Seeing Beneath the Surface
Have you ever felt overlooked? People are prone to put labels on each other. Some are seen as smart, as cool, as flaky, or as loyal. The labels we use sometimes leave people overlooked. Samuel once went looking for a new king – and found some candidates who looked the part. But then something unexpected happened. Join us this week as we help people get out of the boxes that people have labeled them as.

Today’s Message: What Are You Saying, Jesus?

Instead, the Bible is filled with so many stories. Not only that, but Jesus also told a lot of parables. Join us as we explore what parables can tell us about faith and following God in a messy world.

In our sermon series, Cosmic Christmas, we’re taking a journey through the beginning of John’s Gospel, which begins not with a Bethlehem birth story, but with the creation of cosmos. As we journey through John’s Prologue, we’ll discuss time, space, and more as we reflect on faith in God and our place amidst our grand universe.

This Week: The Cosmic Children of God
Every person is made up of over 20,000 genes stored in trillions of cells. And yet, we’re more than our genetic code. Today, we’re talking about what it means to be children of God. As we reflect on our place in the universe, we celebrate human diversity and what it means to flourish as God created us.

Does God Need My Belief?
This Week: Does God Need My Belief?
Sometimes churches can give off the notion that your knowledge and beliefs are the most important part of your identity. We spend a lot of time worried about whether everyone believes the same thing and whether we can tolerate others who don’t. The opening of the Gospel of John, however, portrays God as accepting and persistent despite the unbelief of God’s creation. Undeterred by unbelief, God continues to love and invite people to trust and to fully live. In light of what we know about the beauty and limitations of our brains, this week we discuss finding acceptance in God regardless of your mental capabilities.

Cosmic Christmas: The Time Lord
This Week: The Time Lord
The Gospel of John begins Jesus’ story, not with his birth, but with the birth of all creation. Starting “in the beginning,” John echoes the language of Genesis and ties the story of Jesus with the cosmic story of the universe. Knowing what we do now about the variability of time, what are the implications of our new understandings of time for our faith today? Join us for worship as we discern our future with God.

Is There Enough?
This Week: Is There Enough?
What do you do when you're worried about if there will be enough? Is there enough food on my table? Is there enough money in my account? Is there enough time to get my tasks done? There's a temptation to turn inward when we're worried if there's enough. This week, we read the story of a prophet and a widow struggling through a famine. The prophet's advice runs contrary to our inclination, and yet it might be the thing that transforms our lives for the better.

It doesn’t have to be this way. Jesus told his followers that it wasn’t enough to love those who are easy to love. He calls us to love our enemies – and that doesn’t come naturally. Love might seem like an ineffective pipedream that can’t survive the everyday onslaught of negativity and criticism. And yet, the bridge of true love creates new paths to a better world.

Is it possible to be a loving person in our polarized cutthroat world? Every action, every word, and every social post is pulled into a brutal war of us versus them. It’s not simply politics that cause fights today; it’s our entertainment, our education, our workplaces, our churches, our family gatherings – basically everywhere.

Peer pressure isn’t just a thing for kids. We’re peer pressured to wear certain clothes or buy certain phones. We’re also peer pressured to exclude certain people. This week, the apostle Paul tells us about an awkward party he had with Peter – and how Paul dealt with the peer pressure.

How can we love our neighbors if we close off our hearts? Some of us close our hearts because we’ve been hurt. Others close our hearts because we’ve run out of space.
