What is REAL Read? 📚

What is REAL Read? 📚

Welcome to the R.E.A.L. Read Podcast by Fayette County Public Schools! R.E.A.L. READ is a program based on a simple idea: Every child needs a mentor, and something meaningful happens when volunteers from our community share their love for reading. Reading mentors inspire our students to build literacy skills. For up to an hour each month for the duration of the school year, volunteers read aloud from engaging fiction that features main characters and plots that demonstrate creative problem-solving and resiliency, and from non-fiction that include biographies of inspirational figures and celebrate inclusion and strong values. After mentors read the book, all of the students receive their own copy to take home to share with their family and friends. For more information, go to: FCPS.net/realread
