In our Advent Series, "King of Kings," we reflect on the political leadership and happenings of the day, just as the prophets grounded their proclamations of a coming kind in the historical happenings of their day. Our hope is that amidst worldly government turmoil and national political polarization, we will see, come and worship Jesus, the King of Kings. Our theme verse comes from Mary's Magnificat in Luke 1:52 - "He has brought down rulers from their thrones, but has lifted up the humble."

We go deep on verse 16 of Colossians 3 and what some of the words meant then, and how we might apply them today.

We look at the way in which the author of Esther uses feasts and banquets to organize the book, reflecting also on the Feast of Communion we celebrate as Christ's disciples.

On the other extreme, the God in charge simply acts...and people are just puppets. The world of Esther undermines these extremes as we meet people who are called to act in the midst of immensely difficult situations. And, we meet a God who is clearly at work, behind the scenes, even when we have trouble sleeping.

We close down our look at Esther with a reflection on how her 'moment' and our 'moment' share similarities.
