Even though our world is flooded with apps and software which is geared towards making our business easier and less stressful, the actual result is MORE stress. If you're looking to get clients online or get clients for free without posting ads and you want to use social media, you may realize there's a mix of strategy and mindset to actually attracting clients or customers to you.  The problem is, we tend to get stuck in our heads thinking that what we're doing isn't working. That dreaded but oh so necessary money-making activity is to blame for a lot of stress, overwhelm, and depression and it's not hard to figure out why.  When you're scrolling and seeing all those AMAZING online entrepreneurs doing what you're doing, you might inadvertently go into what I call "comparison-itis". What money blocks sabotage your success when you want to manifest money? For you to be able to manifest money in your life as an entrepreneur, you need to have an understanding of what blocks you currently have. Ultimately, these blocks are what sabotage us and prevent us from feeling good about the money that we have or bringing it into our lives. What would you say if I told you that having more money isn’t so much about changing the way you work as much as it is changing the way you think? And what if I told you that you have the ability to make as much money as you want? Would you say I was crazy? Off my rocker? Not making any sense? I get it. After all, for our entire lives, we’ve been told that the only way to have more money is to either win the lottery or simply work harder. The odds of you winning the lottery are small – and besides, there’s a much better way to make money. As an entrepreneur, you already know that. We use our minds and take inspired action but what's important to know is, if we don't have the money that we want in our lives and we want to manifest money overnight, there's likely a block that we need to uncover before any magic will happen. Wealth rarely comes without belief and intention on its own. I think we'd all agree with that. As entrepreneurs, we realize there's some work to be done but that work is both external AND internal.  It’s possible to luck your way into financial abundance, but the odds aren’t in your favor. While a wealth mindset isn’t enough to create wealth, it makes wealth possible. If you’re struggling financially, your mindset is the best place to start. It doesn’t cost anything to have a wealth mindset. The podcast series that I'm doing here is all about the inner aspects of manifesting money. I’ve been getting a lot of questions lately from my prospects and my clients around sales objections and how to actually get clients in a sales conversation so I thought we’re due for another podcast going into detail to help you out so you’ll be ready for the next time you’re doing a sales call. Handling objections is a necessary skill for any salesperson or entrepreneur. There's a certain mindset you need to have in order to handle a sales objection effectively. When your prospect has an objection, this is where most people start to feel bad or uncertain: the stress for failure increases. Learning how to monetize any skill requires many things, especially learning how to eliminate the employee mindset and grow an entrepreneur mindset. Everyone who's starting a business or who is struggling to make the money and impact they want is always looking for the secret sauce. Sales objections happen every-single-day to very talented coaches, consultants and freelancers. One thing we know is that if you rely on having conversations with your prospect in order to get clients and make money in your business, you definitely need to get good at sales. Just because you receive a sales objection in your discovery call does not mean the conversation is over. We're continuing on with the mindset block series and today we're diving deep in this podcast episode answering the question: "are there enough clients?" We've all been there as we're building our businesses, wondering if our industry is saturated. This thought is pure and simply... a mindset block. We can't allow our mind to get carried away with such thoughts.  We then are dealt the double wammy with feelings of inadequacy, self-doubt. The actions or I should say inaction of procrastination set in and we go into a cycle that takes in a direction for so many of failure and the end of their business.  There are many issues that our inability to take action out of fear and indecision cause as it relates to the success of our business. The most important is, our inability to create value in the marketplace.  It's not your fault though. A client confides in me in a session, "I have fear of success, how do I overcome this?" This is the first mindset block in a five-part series here on Fearless Pursuits Podcast. The first answer as I'm working with this client is telling her that she's not alone. I went on to tell her that every-single client I have, indeed has secret fears. Most of these fears are around failing and not being good enough. This type of fear is a lot more popular than you might think. There's a lot of interesting psychology around this that I won't get into simply because it's not as helpful.  Instead what I do in this podcast episode is help you understand what's going on in your mind and that a mindset block like this can interfere with your goals and take your spirits down. It's interesting to note that there are 8 human fears that we all rotate between at one point or another. Learning what these human fears are is helpful if we're truly interested in mastering self-coaching.  The very concept of self-coaching is so powerful as we go about our days interacting with other people. I like to call them, "emotional trainers". These people are absolutely fantastic at getting under our skin and making us work harder at keeping our cool but more importantly, some of these people can actively get in our way as we're working to become more successful. The people or emotional trainers are one thing but it's the circumstances in our days that trip us up. We're doing our best to be a success in everything we do then... WAM! We get hit by a curve ball that takes us on an uncomfortable ride that can make us second-guess ourselves and what we're doing.  In this podcast, I'm helping you to understand yourself better so you can go to work and coach yourself out of this particular fear. Entrepreneurs ask me all of the time, "Sharon, how do I make sales during Covid?" You see, these coaches, consultants and entrepreneurs were out there in the physical world networking and growing their revenue by making relationships. If you have a business, you more than likely want to master sales. That's exactly what I'm dishing up in this very special podcast episode. So many coaches and consultants have a deep-seated fear that their clients won't get results. It's not something that they would openly share but it's on their mind a lot more than their willing to admit. Not surprisingly, there are many problems with this fear. Some of which are their vibration and energy that their emanating. It's an interesting reality that our beliefs are creating a "vibe" about us. We don't see from moment to moment just how it affects our ability to be effective in our marketing and even in the session itself.  In fact, we can "come across" as insecure ourselves. This is particularly a big concern in the sales call or what's often referred to as a discovery call. It would be odd to hear an entrepreneur say they don't want to build their online audience so I'm going to bet it's a topic that you're interested in. Entrepreneurs are people too. It seems funny to say that but honestly, most people look at entrepreneurs like their crazy, maybe even like they're superhuman or something. I mean who works for free, works long hours, or who works towards their dreams when everyone around them is telling them to get a j-o-b? Now that I wrote that, we entrepreneurs do seem a little crazy.  Well, maybe it takes a little craziness to work relentlessly on our dreams and passions.  One thing that's true among these superhumans is, they doubt themselves. I've never worked with anyone who didn't have doubts, worries and stories that limited them from achieving great things.  When I'm working with entrepreneurs to grow their businesses, we don't just work on the funnels, growing their email list, getting leads or enrolling clients in their program, we're working on working through their limiting beliefs too. In order reach that next level that makes more money or experiences the life of their dreams, they literally MUST become someone new. They have to not just release their limiting beliefs but rather, they actually have to replace them. What I'm talking about in this episode are limiting beliefs that are specific to entrepreneurs. In fact, this exactly what we've been talking about in the limiting beliefs of entrepreneurs. The limiting beliefs that seem to paralyze many entrepreneurs is not having the confidence to do specific tasks. Especially in the digital age where there is a big focus on technology as well as being extremely social in the marketing processes. For example, getting in front of the camera doing a Livestream on Facebook or on Instagram or creating videos on YouTube can cause many entrepreneurs to break out in a cold sweat and lose their confidence all together.  Then there's the issues of network. If you don't have confidence in your business to do the networking, you're probably not going to do very well. One of the reasons entrepreneurs have confidence issues around networking is usually about their self esteem. It's akin to stepping on stage. People who are introverts have the biggest trouble with this but not always. Sometimes an entrepreneur doesn't see results in their networking endeavors then begin to fall prey to doubt. When this happens, they tend to lose a great deal of confidence in their ability to succeed in their business. Many of the issues we have here are really just in our heads. When we don't address them, they can take over and double in size. A little issue sometimes turns into self-sabotage and plenty of procrastination.  If you're not interested in allowing your inner stories to take control and peer inside those limiting beliefs, this episode is for you.  Let's do this!!! The limiting belief series is kicking off and if you haven't listened to last week's episode where we talked about releasing and replacing limiting beliefs but as we continue to to unravel this complex issue of the mind, I wanted to address the lies we entrepreneurs tell ourselves. I'm going to just call it the way I see it. These limiting beliefs are lies. I've been blessed to be around some very successful powerhouses who call me out on my BS and at times it hits hard. We don't always want to be told that WE'RE the reason we aren't as successful as we want to be BUT it's EXACTLY what I need when I'm ready to reach a new level but not seeing why it's not happening.  I'll be addressing the seven most important limiting beliefs or lies as I call them that entrepreneurs have mind drama about. In this episode, you'll see how not asking for help is just a lie. What's worse is how not asking for help is actually sabotaging your success.  What I'd like to offer here as a way of helping you understand is that, you can't do it all yourself and feeling like you should know how to do it all by yourself is what will hold you back from living the lifestyle you want. A bit of wisdom here is to reach out and get support. Build a team that understands your goals and truly wants to lift you up. What are your limiting beliefs? In my work with entrepreneurs, I see limiting beliefs in just about every aspect of their ability OR inability to grow a business, have passionate relationships, healthy bodies and wealthy bank accounts.  It goes much deeper than that though. People struggle with limiting beliefs in just about every area of their life. In my work, we don't just provide strategies to grow their business online related to branding, messaging and sales. Invariably, their personal lives come into play sometimes interfering with what seems like a wall in making the money they want. Instead what I see, are blocks and more blocks.  That's why I do such deep work with my clients' minds. We can't ever forget these entrepreneurs may be wearing that label proudly of; entrepreneur but we never forget that they're humans first and need help and tools to manage their minds. Want a stress free business? Business is scary. Business is frustrating. Business is exciting. Business is overwhelming. Business is all of those things and none of those things. I've worked with 1000's of online business powerhouses allll over the world and the one thing they have in common is their beliefs about their business.  I see so many coaches, consultants and freelancers struggle needlessly. Sometimes it has everything to do with their lack of skill and simply not being able to do the income generating activities necessary to stand out, be noticed and make money. Other times, and frankly most of the time, entrepreneurs struggle because of their own thoughts.  It's something SO incredibly simple yet one of THE hardest things entrepreneurs can't seem to change on their own. They just wake up each day, go through the motions and end up going to sleep at night with their stomach tied up in knots. We've got to stop the cycle of stress. It's seems sort of ludicrous to think that a small thing in our day could have such a big impact. The fact is, it's true. I've talked at length about having higher standards but a major component of having high standards is... routine and habits. This can actually bring up a lot of anger and resentment in some people as they see other, more successful people doing the things they want to do and having the experiences they want to have.  These people begin to feel upset that their told to hold themselves to a higher standard. They can feel like they're being slapped in the face for who they are and how they live their lives.  There's no judgement, it's just a clear fact that success is found by having high standards, a routine that's done the exact same way... EVERY day, as well as powerful habits that bring forth the riches and results that so many people lust after.  You can't have the abundance that life can bring to you if you're not willing to let go of your ego and do the work. Sometimes, it's inner work and other times it's the things we actually, "DO" from the very beginning of our day to the end of our day when we close our eyes and fall to sleep. Who knew that $60K in ONE day as a coach was even possible! That's EXACTLY what one of my clients experienced just yesterday.  Results like this are unheard of and we all wonder why something like happens for some people and not for others. For all of you coaches, consultants and freelancers out there, you have dealt with issues around promoting and selling an intangible product. Yes, your service IS a product. That fact in and of itself is a concern when we're actively working on our plan to promote this sort of business. However difficult that is, the bigger concern these days is if you should be charging during an economic crisis. There's no doubt this pandemic has created a severe economic issue for most of the world. My clients are all coming to me with concerns so I wanted to spend some time today to unpack this and talk to you about how important it is to charge for what we do. You can have the biggest heart and truly care about other people's financial well-being but what I can tell you is, this is none of your business. That may sound cold but there's real research on this as it relates to human psychology and valuing something. Talking about money brings up all sorts of emotions and it can even be a little taboo. Today, I'm diving in and I don't care about the "niceties" around the topic because this needs to be talked about.  If you've got money fears and you're selling a service, this episode will shed some light on whether or not you should be charging for your services. In marketing or copyrighting 101, we're taught some basic concepts which help us attract leads to us. We move closer to on-boarding or enrolling our clients, then we somehow discover that we've ended up with a client we're not really excited about working with. Sometimes it even boils down to chasing them down for a payment, no shows or even cancelled contracts. We are locked up in our homes because of the quarantine and some of us are worried, wondering what will happen. They can't see a way out of their financial situation because they can't go back to their 9-5 or their service job. Some people will go back to work but they have felt uneasy about helping some other company build their empire all the while realizing there is a ceiling on their income. These people just want a way out. They just want to start a business where they can earn some extra money while their trying to figure things out. What we need to realize right now, is that this quarantine is a wake up call. This sudden awareness that we are not in control of our lives or our finances doesn't sit well with a lot of people. What's the answer? Well that's a complicated question and I don't pretend to have all of the answers but what I can tell you is, having your own business DOES give you the financial freedom to do what you want, when you want to. Now, having an online business is nothing new. My first online business was back in 1995 and I never stopped learning how to make money online. Personally, I believe an online business gives us the way out. It gives us the freedom to build our businesses AROUND our lives. This was my dream and I'm living it today and I want you to be well on YOUR way to creating this lifestyle if this is what you want to do. At the very least, after you listen to today's podcast, you'll be armed with ideas to make some extra money online. So sit back and relax while I share several ways you can make money online. Talking about money is something a lot of people don't like to do. They're embarrassed about it. They feel like it's bad. They have feelings of resentment about it. I want to talk about money in this podcast because it's on everyone's mind right now with the whole pandemic issue. Now I realize that money is not a topic that a lot of people are really comfortable talking about and that's why I want to do this.  So, I get it. There's a lot of people who are struggling right now.  The media is telling us that there definitely will be a trickle down effect in our economy. And it's really important for us to really prepare to really talk about money to really understand what factors we have to have in our life... in our personal economy, so that we can be as ready for these kinds of situations as we possibly can.  In this time in quarantine or lockdown, is the time for most of us to plan and to dream, but mostly it's a time to work on what exactly we need to do to make more money or to hold on to it. The way you see yourself factors into every little nook and cranny of every aspect, and every sphere of your life. How you think of yourself will create feelings of success, doubt and even a walking failure. You’ve seen people in your life who say something about themselves like, “It’s too late for me, I’m too old” or I suck at relationships” or “I’ll never find love, I’m not pretty enough” or even, “I’ll never be rich, that’s just not meant for me”. These are uncertain times and there’s a LOT of fear out there as we all deal with the pandemic. We as entrepreneurs deal with a tremendous balancing act. We're balancing our goals both personally and professionally as well as the day to day tasks and sometimes the drama of it all. We are all big talkers when it comes to setting goals or making commitments, right? Then when we don't keep these promises to ourselves, we tend to go inward with a variety of mental discussions with negative the outcome of feelings and less than optimal results.  One thing we do is beat ourselves up. Another, is to judge ourselves or even just feel all sorts of negative feelings of being lost or overwhelmed. While these thoughts and feelings come from many struggles such as procrastination or fear, mostly this comes from not having the clarity that we need to follow through. Unfortunately, we'll have a whole lot of nothing to show for our time and effort and worse... even failure. We think very little of it when we punish ourselves with phrases like, “I am a failure” or “I am hopeless” or "I don't know what I want". After all, words are just words, right? There's a battle going on in our mind and it keeps us from playing a bigger game. It keeps us from doing the things in our lives and in our businesses that we hope to accomplish some day.
