Zola is a raw and unflinching film about a roundtrip gone horribly wrong. What makes it even more raw, it's a real story!!!

FMC 148 Tales from the Hood Directed and Written by Rusty Cundieff
1995's Tales from the Hood is a cult classic! Its a film that has aged well and is unfortunately relevant to this day. The Blu-ray transfer is clean and looks fantastic.
Executive produced by Spike Lee, I highly recommend this film for filmmakers to get some tips, and for others to get a social clue.

FMC 147: The Monster Squad Directed and Written by Fred Dekker
In 1987 The Monster Squad was released. It was not a smash hit, but later found its audience with home entertainment. The film is about a young group of monster fanatics attempt to save their hometown from Count Dracula and his monsters.
The film looks amazing in HD and is good case study on how a film can still be successful even when the box office says it is not.

FMC 146: Rush Hour Directed by Brett Ratner
Rush Hour starring Jackie Chan and Chris Tucker was a hit in 1998! Till this day, the film is consistently being streamed and making money. Looking back on Rush Hour was fun and very informative.
Brett Ratner brings an energy to the commentary that is not stop, and it makes sense why this film ended up being a smash hit. I highly recommend this film for filmmakers looking for insightful tips from a young and capable director.

FMC 145: Single White Female Directed by Barbet Schroeder
1992’s Single White Female is an intense thriller. I didn't expect to enjoy this film, but it’s a well crafted film! The direction by Barbet Schroeder gives the over vibe its own style. The actresses are really bold and brining their A game. I recommend this film for filmmakers, the commentary and behind the scenes interviews are worth taking a look at.

FMC 144 The Cable Guy Directed by Ben Stiller
1996's The Cable Guy directed by Ben Stiller is a dark comedy that probably debuted a nit too late or early, not sure. Jim Carrey was a big star, I feel like you will either like this film or hate it. With that being said, great direction by Ben stiller. Comedy is hard. A few gems for filmmakers in this episode.

FMC 139: Love Jones Written and Directed by Theodore Witcher
In 1997 Love Jones hit the scene and changed the images if black folks on TV. Instead of gangsters, villains, or downtrodden people on the screen, people got a chance to see how black folks fall in love just like everyone else. Theodore pours his soul into the script and it shows on the screen. In this criterion collection of Love Jones, we highly recommend for filmmakers to grab.

Anyway, we dive deep into the 90's and we uncover The Crow starring Brandon Lee. A literal Dark film that pushed the envelope stylistically.
This is a must watch film especially for filmmakers, even Christopher Nolan gives this film its proper credit.

In 1982 First Blood was delivered to the world. A melancholy film that deals with the unflinching truth about post traumatic Syndrome.
