Take a look back at the original blockbuster super hero movie…1978’s Superman! Christopher Reeve stars as the hero himself in the Richard Donner flick. Despite all its innovations and push in the genre, after all these years, does it still hold up?

Alright…here we go. This week on Total Rewind we look back at a forgotten movie that many of us probably haven’t seen…Arena. A sci-fi battle that leaves a lot to be desired. From the story and characters to music and effects we ask the simple question…does it hold up?

Movie Remake Time! returns and continuing with the still lively discussion around Batman we are taking a look at the campier side of things with Batman Forever vs Batman & Robin. It’s Joel Schumacher’s vision as he unleashes Val Kilmer vs George Clooney and introduces Robin and Batgirl to the big screen. From the zany villains, bright color palette, and cool toys we ask the question….who did it better!?

In anticipation of new Matt Reeves directed “The Batman” we decided to take a look at the classic that started it all, Tim Burton’s 1989 film starring Jack Nicholson and Michael Keaton…Batman. This film introduced a lot to the comic book film genre and established Batman as the hero we know today. For many this is still the definitive film adaptation of Batman. But as always, we ask the question…does it still hold up?

Movie Remake Time! returns this week as we take a look at original Sly 90s action film and the 2012 reboot Judge Dredd. While one brings the campy fun and 90s action film effects the other brings blood soaked violence and a more true to the comic visual style. The question is…who did it better!?

On this week’s Total Rewind we take a look back at an 80’s action movie classics and one of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s more iconic roles…Predator! With a blend of genres and healthy mix of action and effects, is this an action movie that holds up today? Let us know what you think!

In his creative work, he is concentrating on bringing his own projects to fruition through Distortion Field, his development and production company. He has several feature length screenplays circulating the spec market, usually has a short film on the festival circuit and can often be found developing and writing new stories. He holds an MFA in screenwriting from Maine Media College and is a member of the International Cinematographer's Guild and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Harrison is a native of Hurricane, West Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in Psychology and Business. He began his entertainment career at United Talent Agency in the mailroom, then as a television development executive at Entertainment One, where he worked on many scripted series (i.e., Hung, Hell on Wheels) and sold original projects. He currently lives in Los Angeles as a writer, director, and producer. In 2018, he partnered with fellow artist, cinematographer, editor and producer, Atom Jones, to forge their first filmmaking efforts with their short films "Dad's BS" and the grant-funded "Crosswinds". They are currently in post-production on their third short film collaboration.

Curt had to learn producing the old-fashioned way - actually working in the field. After moving to Los Angeles in 2003 from Georgia where he grew up, Curt started working on small budget films to learn all he could. From there he worked his way up through the ranks from a production assistant to being a Producer. After honing his production skills in both scripted and live television, commercials, and films Curt put his expertise to work at The American Film Institute Conservatory helping oversee the production of student films. Upon leaving AFI Curt embarked down the path of being a full-fledged Producer. His first feature film, Other Halves, is currently available on Amazon Prime, while his latest feature film, Big Life, is currently in post-production. Happy New Year!!! And welcome to another episode of the Filmmaker’s Compass Podcast! We’re back :) And on this week’s show we are interviewing filmmaker and writer Harrison Reishman. Harrison is a native of Hurricane, West Virginia and graduated from the University of Virginia with degrees in Psychology and Business. He began his entertainment career at United Talent Agency in the mailroom, then as a television development executive at Entertainment One, where he worked on many scripted series (i.e., Hung, Hell on Wheels) and sold original projects. He currently lives in Los Angeles as a writer, director, and producer. In 2018, he partnered with fellow artist, cinematographer, editor and producer, Atom Jones, to forge their first filmmaking efforts with their short films "Dad's BS" and the grant-funded "Crosswinds". They are currently in post-production on their third short film collaboration.

Welcome to the first episode of the Filmmaker’s Compass podcast! So proud to announce our first guest and friend, Curt Chatham. Curt had to learn producing the old-fashioned way - actually working in the field. After moving to Los Angeles in 2003 from Georgia where he grew up, Curt started working on small budget films to learn all he could. From there he worked his way up through the ranks from a production assistant to being a Producer. After honing his production skills in both scripted and live television, commercials, and films Curt put his expertise to work at The American Film Institute Conservatory helping oversee the production of student films. Upon leaving AFI Curt embarked down the path of being a full-fledged Producer. His first feature film, Other Halves, is currently available on Amazon Prime, while his latest feature film, Big Life, is currently in post-production.
