#119: George Greco on running ultra marathons in his 70’s
George is certainly one of a kind, and today we are celebrating his 74th birthday! George has lived to the brim in those years and he’s not even close to being done yet. So far he’s put scaffolding up on the sides of ships, driven cab, been a Teamster, fought wild fires in the U.S. Forest Service and polished off the last 25 years of his career as a Software Engineer before signing on as a Sales Associate at the Carlsbad Running Center.
You’ll hear in the podcast the story of how one conversation with his 6 year old daughter changed the trajectory of his life completely. At 45 years old he traded in “smoking” for “running”, poor health for optimal health and the well being that comes with a positive lifestyle and all of those awesome friends and experiences along the way. George believes that EVERYTHING goes better with health.
Since then, he’s run an amazing 623 races, and amassed an impressive 379 1st place, 123 2nd place, and 47 3rd place finishes in his Age Division. He ran a 6 min, 7 second mile at the State Street Mile, only 3 seconds off the all-time record for his age division. You can check his full bio in the show notes, it’s worth a read!

#105: Dave Gerber on defining yourself through adversity
David Gerber is a new Uncle, a Starbucks loyalist, golf enthusiast, and someone who is incredibly driven by his ‘why.’ At 14, Dave and his family suffered the tragic loss of his father to cancer just 6 short months after his diagnosis. He went on to play baseball at a D1 school, Creighton University, where despite not being a top recruit he ended up setting records as their Closer. After school he was drafted to the Seattle Mariners and recognized as one of the top player leaders in the organizations but after injury and release in 2019, Dave had to redefine his dreams.
He took his lessons learned into Sales and Territory Management where he has built successful businesses in Connecticut, Nebraska, and Iowa. Dave has learned to defy the odds through the ability to bet on himself and lead others around him to do the same.
Dave is no stranger to meeting adversity and overcoming it. We talked all about his journey, from losing his father at age 14, to getting unexpectedly drafted to the MLB after college, to how he got his career lined up after baseball and everything in between.

#097: Morgan Mancuso on being a reiki master teacher and tools to uplevel your energy every day
Morgan Mancuso is a reiki master teacher, and an energy transformation facilitator.
After learning about reiki she immediately knew energy healing was her calling, and this set her on a path of her own healing, finding true self love and diving head first into deep self discovery. This led her to eventually becoming a reiki master.
In her reiki sessions, she intuitively works with each person's unique energy to move through physical, emotional and spiritual blockages. She has seen time and time again the power of each of our own innate ability to heal from the inside out.
She has now expanded her practice from just reiki sessions to empowering others to go deeper into their healing, by certifying women in reiki through her 1-on-1 online course, “Awaken the Healer Within”.
In addition to hearing about her own journey, we talked all about Reiki 101, understanding the foundations of energy healing and how you can uplevel your energy on a daily basis.

#071: Daniel, Mo, Jewels and Steve on setting the record for longest highline ever walked in California at Yosemite National Park
Just last month they set the record for longest highline ever walked in California at Yosemite National Park
Highlining is high altitude slacklining in which a narrow strip of strong, nylon webbing — usually an inch wide and a few millimeters thick — is strung between two anchor points and serves as a kind of balance beam.
They used the help of 18 friends and fellow highliners to navigate their webbing through and across the landscape — hiking lines up from the valley floor, rappelling down from the cliffs above and maneuvering through countless tree branches.
It took a week straight of stringing the line, 2,800 feet in length, from Taft Point west across a series of gullies that plunge as deep as 1,600 feet
Then they walked across!
We dig into the preparation behind it, the mental approach to it all, and how 2 of them actually have a fear of heights!

#069: Sadie Ackerman on the field of psychological spirituality and healing childhood wounds
Sadie is not a stranger to the curve balls of life. As a Thought Leader and Master of her Craft in the field of psychological spirituality, she has been through the metaphorical ringer. From sexual, spiritual and emotional abuse, to addiction, anxiety/depression, concussions & memory loss, abortion, eating disorders, toxic poisoning, just to name a few, she can empathize with a wide range of hardships we all may face.
The gift she’s gleaned from it all is access to spiritual wisdom for which she has become a conduit.
She shares this wisdom from both a spiritual and psychological perspective, coupling the two together. These insights and lessons have been given to her during some of the darkest times of her life.
Her hope is that through awareness of this wisdom, we as individuals can find and express our purpose, power, and highest potential here on Earth.

#049: Andrew Barrett on meditation 101, processing stress, and connecting to self
Andrew Barrett is a meditation teacher based in Venice, CA.
He teaches an ancient, time-tested practice called Vedic Meditation. Vedic Meditation yields profound results through short, effective meditations that are easy to do. And the teaching itself is always comprehensive and personalized. He teaches meditation because the more people meditate, the happier and more enlightened the world becomes
We had a great conversation about meditation -- how it reduces stress, why it's more restful than sleep, how it's NOT about stilling your mind. If you don’t know much about meditation and want an entry point, this conversation is for you, and if you feel like you know a lot about meditation, this conversation is also for you!
I personally have taken his course and it was game changing for me. It is so approachable and he does such a fantastic job of making it relevant and helping you understand and incorporate it into your day to day.

Apparently I violated IG community standards and was kicked off for a week. Don’t worry, I didn’t get canceled like you might be thinking. It was from unfollowing too many people in too short of a time period, which apparently is a no-no, and IG can ban you for a week without warning for doing it! At first, I was pissed, but as always, the dots connect and now I can reflect on how this has been a blessing that happened FOR me rather than something crappy TO me.

#047: Joy Graysen on the language of music, embracing into your genius, and living with joy
#047: Joy Graysen on the language of music, embracing into your genius, and living with joy
Joy is truly a joy! For more than 20 years, she’s been a performance coach and spiritual teacher helping artists find and free their true voice, and helping all performers tap into their genius.
Joy began singing before she could walk or talk and as a result, feels that music was her first true language. By the age of three, Joy could sing in three part harmony and play three instruments by ear. Joy felt more fluent with music than any other form of communication from the beginning of her life.
At the root of these discoveries was the awareness that each of us holds an infinite pool of potential inside us. Joy realized that when we are in a state of flow, the truth may pass from the endless pool, out into the physical world.
We had an EPIC conversation about the quantum field of sound and healing properties of music, her story of tapping into these truths, how we are ALL artists and performers, and how we can open our heart more to the flow of life.

#011: Sagi Hebron on facing fear, finding inspiration, and leading men into war.
Not all 18-year-olds would give up a picturesque setting, and a comfortable life, to fight in another country’s military half a world away. However, that’s exactly what Sagi Hebron chose to do in 2012. Moving to Israel to join the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces), he became a machine-gunner combat soldier and eventually a commander, leading his troops behind enemy lines into real combat during the war in Gaza in 2014. Sagi is now pursuing a career in Chiropractic care, studying up at Life Chiropractic College West.
