Our next guest is a Florida mathematician, a two-time TEDx speaker, a professional member of National Speakers Association, and an Accredited Master Trainer and Practitioner in Emotional Freedom Technique, also known as EFT or Tapping. She uses EFT to dissolve WAFFLES – worries, anxiety, fear, frustration, lethargy, exhaustion, and STRESS. While researching her dissertation research in Mathematics Education, she searched for methods to help college students overcome fear, phobia, and stress related to math class and math tests. In 2010, she founded Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT or tapping) and began offering the process. Students reported they passed math class and found math easier to learn. In contrast to the four years that she took to earn her Ph.D., she spent 8 years earning her Master Trainer certificate in EFT. As a professional speaker, she presents to those looking for quick, effective methods to eliminate stress. With 80% of medical visits caused by stress and the major cause of death, stress management is crucial to optimal health and consequently peak performance.

Episode #26 -- Interview with Yoga Instructor Gin Carter

Episode #26 -- Interview with Yoga Instructor Gin Carter

Gin Carter worked for the Smithsonian Institution for 12 years as one of the only two people in the world using human fertility techniques to conserve our world’s coral reefs. Faced with the realization that all the science in the world won’t save the planet unless people start choosing to believe it and implement it she decided to leave science and instead start connecting with people more directly. She has now dedicated her life to helping people feel better as she believes that people can’t make better choices if they don’t feel good themselves.

Gin has a Master’s degree in Biology and her scientific background informs everything she does. She also holds a 200-hour and 500-hour yoga teacher certifications from Wisdom Flow Yoga on Maui.

Episode #18 - Book Review of Daring Greatly by Brene Brown

If you haven't heard of Brene Brown, you need to check her out! I just devoured her book, Daring Greatly, and can't wait to keep reading her other books.

Brené Brown is an American professor, lecturer, author, and podcast host. She holds the Brené Brown Endowed Chair at the University of Houston's  Graduate College of Social Work.

Having spent her career studying the concepts of courage, vulnerability, shame, and empathy and having authored seven books including five New York Times best-sellers, Brown hosts the Unlocking Us podcast, and her TED talk, "The Power of Vulnerability", has been widely viewed. Her filmed lecture, Brené Brown: The Call to Courage, debuted on Netflix in 2019. (A must-see in my opinion, you will not be disappointed.)
