It’s also deciding what you want your future for look like.

60. How to Remember Things!
Today, I'm giving you tips about how I remember things.
· Create checklists.
· Coffee Card laminated.
· Do the task immediately to avoid having to think about it later.
· Write it down immediately.
· Speak into your phone voice recorder.
· Set an alarm, clock, watch, phone, Siri or Alexa.
· Add the task to your calendar, and set alerts.
· Send yourself a text or an email.
· Set up reminders.
· Daily to-do list.
· Use the birthday function in Apple.
· Use a weekly pill organizer, or an automatic pill dispenser with an alarm.
· Return items to the same place you found them.
· All of household items have their own storage place.
· Keys, wallet, phone in a bowl or decorative box so you can always locate them.
· Reading glasses in each room.
· Post-It notes in the bathroom, to stick on the door.
· Shower, sing something you want to remember.
· Keep vitamins near desk.

Today I’m talking about ways to get steps.
I walk and do cardio not for weight loss, but for my heart and to keep my high energy.
It's good to keep our bodies moving and as my PT says "motion is lotion.
I don’t want to become rusty so I’m active every day.
Do y’all have a fitness tracker?
If so, what kind and what’s your step goal each day?
Mine is 15k!

58. Tips for Getting More Sleep!
Do you have insomnia or sleep challenges?
Today I'll give you 14 tips about sleeping that have worked for me.
I've talked about boundaries in past episodes and they can help even for sleeping.
One of the tips I share is about having regular bed times and wake up times. If you don't have set times, it might be difficult to fall asleep. A consistent sleep schedule, helps your body to naturally adjust, and starts feeling tired at just the right time each day.
Another one is a rule we have (another boundary) about not watching scary or disturbing things before bed, that can really mess with your sleep. This is the time we need to relax, not the time to tense up. Tensing up can disturb sleep. We sleep better when we watch something calming or funny.

57. Helpful Tips for Surgery Preparation!
Today I'm sharing 25 tips about my husband's partial knee replacement and how we prepared in advance so the recovery would be less stressful.
There was so much to remember because, he had his surgery in the morning and came home in the early afternoon. It used to be that the patient would spend a night or two in the hospital, with doctors and nurses caring for them, but that’s no longer the case many times and family members become caretakers.
Taking care of my hubby was important, and equally important was to practice my own self-care and to continue eating healthy, exercising, journaling, and rest.
Many times caretakers give so much to others, they forget to care for themselves.
Without self-care, you can feel taken for granted, depleted, taken advantage of, or intruded upon. As a caregiver, setting clear limitations and boundaries is the first step in avoiding burnout and caring for yourself. It’s best to take care of yourself so there’s more energy to care for others.
