This Is Your RemindHer
By Sasha | Frank+Feel
I'm Sasha, the writer behind Frank+Feel: an avid lover of words, who uses them to speak to and challenge the negative narratives we often have in our minds, through what I call #RemindHers.
This is a podcast about (re)building self-trust, self-compassion and making ourselves a priority in our lives. We know who we are and the things we want for ourselves - we just need the occasional RemindHer.

017. Epilogues and Experiments
Well, we've come to the last episode of this season. I thought there would be a whole host of takeaways that I could proffer to encourage you to start something you've might have had in mind, but largely it has only come down to one pithy piece of advice from my dad.
The other thought I'm leaving you with this episode is the idea of writing your own epilogue. While this podcast episode just happens to be coming out at the end of the year, you can take your pen and write a comment or conclusion whenever you come to an end: of a journal, year, life chapter or role.
I hope you enjoy this last episode of the season, and I'll see you back here in the New Year.

016. To Whom Do You Envy? On Virtual Virtue and Feeling your Feelings...
I don’t consider emotions good or bad anymore. It’s all inner guidance that sharpens our yeses and nos if channelled the right way.
Today, a short remindher on feeling your feelings (especially the ones we're encouraged not to).

015. Let's Talk about Permission Slips
This podcast is not a permission slip. You don't need it to be.
Today's shortcast episode explores the language around permission and permission slips.
What do you think? Agree? Disagree? Am I reading too much into it? Come and chat about it over on Instagram @frankandfeel

014. We Ain't Never Gonna Be Respectable
Hello! It's good to be back! *That* cold was really fun... my voice is still a little husky, but a load of you say my voice is soothing, so let's hope that's what the extra huskiness is giving.
In today's episode, I'm building on a conversation started on Kayte's podcast, Grow With Soul, where I'm one of the co-hosts this season. Our discussions surround work IN life, with more of a discussion about the blend rather than the balance, which doesn't really exist. My views about work have changed entirely in the last 18 months, and a lot of you resonated with my conversation with Kayte about being a work in-betweener.
So today, we'll deep dive into some of the questions, the answers and the changes those have brought. I am angry. I am over it. I am a woman figuring it out.

013. Llfe Is Happening While You're Busy Waiting Your Turn
"One of the things that the world did an absolutely blinding job at convincing me of, was that I would get everything that I wanted if I just waited my turn.
Wait your turn. Be patient. Your time will come." Yeah, let's dig into that. And here's that Moloko track I reference at the end.
To wrap up this season, I'm on a quest to find some of your Remindhers to share on the last episode. I firmly believe that we are all students and teachers. There's no advice, pep talk, truth or musing too small or too simple. Some of the best advice that we need the most often, is the simplest. I'd love it if you sent me a DM or dropped me an email with something to share. The words don't have to be your own, just ones that remind you of a lesson learnt or a truth remembered that you think could be of use passed on to someone else who needs to hear them.

012. The Revolution Will Be Well-Rested. And That Will Be Good Enough.
From today's episode: "I hope that this resharing of something that already exists, something that may or may not be new to you, is good enough. Because the revolution not only lies in the rested woman, but the woman who says, ‘today… this is my good enough.’"

011. But What's It For? Reasons To Do Things
We've all been there.
Wondering why we're doing something or what the point of it is. Sometimes the line of enquiry is entirely valid, as it can help us to close a chapter or reclaim our time. But, it can be hard to persevere with something we enjoy that doesn't come with a tangible result attached to it. But results aren't the only reason to do things.
In a world that wants to see growth and instant success and an ever-upward trajectory of progress, if we don’t have the measures that match up, it can be easy to lose heart and give up. So for today's remindher, reasons to do things that have nothing to do with productivity or results.

010. The Measures That Matter
So we're heavily in back to school energy. Or at least we feel we should be.
I've been thinking ahead to the end of the year. I don't think you can help it when you get to the last quarter of the year. In this week's remindher I'm contemplating personal milestones and the measures that matter.

008. The four words that helped reframe everything
How do you feel about affirmations?
As someone who struggles with them, it just feels like a stranger is saying them if the words don’t connect. But since June, I've been using this one affirmation turned journal prompt that acts as such a powerful RemindHer, and that's what I'm sharing with you today. I'd love to hear your thoughts if you incorporate some of this into your days in some way.

007. The run up and the execution
This week's #RemindHer is about cycles of perfection and procrastination. In demonstrating my belief that lessons are everywhere, today's comes from gymnastic floor routines. Let's dive in...

006. Boats, Boats, Boats...
They say that your thoughts become your beliefs, which become your actions. Our words are our thoughts verbalised, so we need consideration of the words and phrases that become part of our vocabulary. Those that we just seem to accept and adopt into our lives.
I’ve been thinking about boats recently. And until a few weeks ago, I didn’t realise how often they’ve featured in my life, and maybe yours too. Specifically, these three idioms:
‘We’re all in the same boat’
‘Missed the boat’
‘Don’t rock the boat’
This episode is a sample of my monthly e-letter The RemindHer. There I do a written version of what I do on the podcast, as well as letting you know about the latest things I’m trying, doing, succeeding and failing at on my own journey of self-doubt to self-trust. If you’d like to receive the RemindHer, you can sign up here. And, if you sign up in the next fortnight, you’ll receive a free audio guide ‘The Halfway Point’ which is a journalling session I created to help you write a letter to your future self.
Want to spend a bit more time mulling this over? Head to the blog post for a few journal prompts to accompany today’s episode.

005. On rest, guilt and modelling your message
Hello, hello.
Welcome to a tardy episode of today's podcast, which takes a look at rest from a few angles. In uploading later than planned, I am hoping that this in itself acts as an example of modelling the message of the importance of rest.

004. Dear Student of Life...
It's that time of year.
School's out for Summer, and with that last day come the reflections on the school year that's passed. In today's episode:
I'm wondering:
- why, as students of life, this kind of reflection ever stops
- what you've learnt in this last season in the school of your life
- where are the milestones, if you don't have certain labels, roles and titles

003. Why there's more to the phrase, 'It's not all yours to carry...'
'We don’t have to do all of it alone. We were never meant to' - Brene Brown
I came across this quote last week and it reminded me of a story and a phrase that I started adding a caveat to. Maybe you’ve heard the phrase, 'it’s not all yours to carry.' Well, I now tend to say ‘It’s not all yours to carry… but also, it’s not all yours to pick up.’
For today's RemindHer, I'm sharing the story that helped me to add that powerful caveat.

002. The power of 'I don't know'
We like destinations and landmarks. They feel like solid ground; coordinates that we can point to so we can exclaim ‘I am here.’
We don’t like the ‘I don’t know’. When you no longer reside in the place you once were, but haven't arrived at the new place either.
But what of the power that's overlooked in the not knowing?

Well, it's finally here. Sasha - 1, self-doubt - nil. And that's the only football you'll ever hear from me.

Trailer: This Is Your RemindHer
Welcome to This Is Your RemindHer. A weekly podcast about not second-guessing what we already know. And we know ourselves. But when shrouded by responsibility, shoulds, engrained narratives and self-doubt, sometimes we forget that.
I'm Sasha, the writer behind Frank+Feel: an avid lover of words, who wants to use them to speak to and challenge the negative narratives we often have in our minds, through what I call #RemindHers.
This is a podcast about building self-trust, self-compassion and making ourselves a priority in our own lives, because that’s exactly how it should be.
I hope that these shortcasts help in tuning out the noise and the narratives, and tuning back into ourselves, first and foremost.
Because we know who we are and the things want for ourselves. We just need the occasional RemindHer.
