Goals and Goal Setting in Therapy
In this episode I talk with Nick, a child behavioral health clinician, and my regular co-host, Nancy, about goal setting in therapy. The process of determining the appropriate goals, setting those goals, and how those goals evolve and are re-evaluated over time.
"How do you eat an elephant? One bite at a time." Goals are meant to be steps, one at a time. Maybe your first goal is to reach out for help weather that be making an appointment with a clinician or asking a friend or family member for help. If you or anyone you know needs help, reach out. We are here!

Grief
Exploring what grief is, how we react to it, how to manage it and how to help others going through it.

Mental and Physical Health, How They Work Together
The correlation between mental and physical health and how they really go hand in hand.

Transitions
This podcast is all about dealing with change. Fall is a time for change and adjustments as people return to school and work. This year expects to be one of many transitions as people are more likely to return to activities they haven't since before the pandemic. Our podcast is co-hosted by Nancy at MENTOR South Bay and our guest this week is one of their clinicians, Maia Roper. We talk about recognizing the changes and behaviors that might signal a need for treatment. We also examine the process of reaching out for help and the assessment process.

Medication and Schizophrenia
Fuller Hospital partners with colleges and universities in the area to provide real-world learning experiences for students. In this episode, Chris speaks with one of our University of Rhode Island pharmacy students. Matt G found a focus for his career in working with medications for behavioral health and we found the opportunity to understand some of the things he has learned. We review schizophrenia, medications, and some of the unique challenges of providing medications to this population.

Overdose Awareness Month
Fuller Hospital and MENTOR South Bay partner to bring you this podcast. Chris and Brittany with Fuller bring in Nancy at South Bay to discuss Overdose Awareness Month. Our special guests are Jessica Eagles, the Director of Leadership and Systems with Fuller Hospital, and Officer Ayman Kafel with the Problem Oriented Policing Unit at Attleboro PD. We talk about the challenges facing communities as overdoses and related deaths continue to increase with further compromises during the pandemic. We discuss how people and those who love them seek treatment and are engaged in the community.

Covid Anxiety
Fuller Hospital and MENTOR South Bay partner to bring you this podcast. Chris and Brittany with Fuller bring in Nancy at South Bay to discuss the anxiety and other feelings associated with Covid. Our special guest, Chuck Vohs, provides information based on his direct treatment with patients since the pandemic. Per the CDC, the percentage of adults with symptoms of anxiety or depressive disorders increased from 36.4% to 41.5% from August 2020 to February 2021. In just six months, that's a 10% increase of significant anxiety and depression symptoms. That's something like 12 million adults. This info doesn't even represent adolescents!
