Last winter, I was fortunate to be able to travel to Antarctica, and I was deeply moved by what I saw there. Human activity is governed by strong restrictions ratified by nations that have agreed not to claim any part of the continent for themselves; therefore the land and its inhabitants (seals, birds, whales and fish) are for the most part protected from direct human interference. Seals and penguins show no fear of humans; it is amazing to see just how interested baby seals are to get a closer look at people.

He travels Canada to capture the experience of precarity and the fight against the exploitation of contract faculty in higher ed. A passionate sailor & acclaimed stand-up paddler, Severine launched her own environmental charity – Watertrek – to raise awareness on the need to protect aquatic ecosystems. A strong visionary, curious & creative mind, she also founded Wiifilm, a production structure aiming to develop impactful social storytelling, mostly composed of female co-authors. Severine is also a keen singer & musician & a total movie geek.

Vivien Reid is an award-winning Scottish actor and writer. She was born in Edinburgh. At the age of 14, she gained a place at The National Youth Theatre of Great Britain. She then trained at the prestigious Drama Centre London. After graduating Vivien was invited to join the company at The Citizens Theatre in Glasgow. She works extensively in Film and Theatre across the UK. Vivien wrote and stars in the award-winning short film The Box and has been selected by Playwright Studio Scotland to be mentored by playwright Stef Smith to work on her second play.

The Box

Following the disappearance of Rachel's husband Richard, a mysterious box is delivered to their home. In order to move on with her life, she must first bury the past.

Legendary producer/guitarist Gerry Leonard (David Bowie/Suzanne Vega/ Laurie Anderson/Cyndi Lauper/Avril Lavigne ) performs a prayer of hope for us living through these divided times. Recorded live at Rockwood Music Hall in NYC after the horrible tragedy in Charlottesville, VA, August 12th, 2017. “Pray-Er” has won 3 film awards and has screened in NYC multiple times and Lagos, Nigeria.

Joeann Calabrese

Award-winning, NYC-based filmmaker Joeann Calabrese started her filmmaking career while working at MTV Networks as a technical director. She then moved to the historic Kaufman Astoria Studios while completing graduate studies at Columbia University’s Teachers College. Her films are created in a documentary/educational style and have been screened in NYC, London, Berlin, The Russian Federation and Lagos, Nigeria. She has received 13 film awards since 2017. Pray-Er (the song) is written and composed by legendary guitarist/producer Gerry Leonard.
