18: Dawn Daria & Paul Miller: Engaging students through fun, play, and community building
Dawn Daria and Paul Miller ignite classroom learning with fun and play through the use of Flop Balls. As a husband and wife team, they created a company called Flow Circus to harness the power of creativity and playful flow to energize, excite, and enliven groups. One of these groups just so happens to be students. One of their products, Flop Balls, is a great way to teach students flexible thinking, engage in active mindfulness, and help build the classroom culture and community. It is Dawn and Paul's mission to leave people feeling happier than when they entered the room.

17: Sara Candela: Focusable
Sara Candela taught high school English for 14 years before leaving the classroom to pursue audio production, podcasting, and writing. The thought she would find a new way to work with students and teachers in that medium.
She worked in podcast production in Los Angeles, and then found her way to Swivl, where she started working with the founder on a new podcasting app for classrooms.
Fast forward four more years, and she is excited to be the community manager for Focusable, a new Swivl product that helps you work towards better attention, focus, and self-regulation. Our community of educators are called Optimalists, and we work towards helping people have conversations about mindfulness in edu, and embracing progress, innovation, and change. Outside of that - I am a writer and broadcaster, and a poet!

13: Dr. Jessica Lane: Trends in Counseling
Jessica Lane is an Associate Professor in Counselor Education and Supervision at Kansas State University and serves as the Counseling Programs Coordinator. In 2018, Dr. Lane was named the Kansas counselor of the year. Prior to serving as a counselor educator, Lane was an elementary teacher and school counselor in Kansas. She also served as faculty for nine years in preparing P-12 preservice teachers at Kansas State.
Dr. Lane is the president of the Kansas Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She has also authored a book, book chapters, and numerous journal articles, and serves as a consultant for school counselors, principals, and school districts for schools across Kansas as they work to enhance their school counseling programs, crisis plans, and leadership capacity.
Dr. Lane’s research interests include collaboration between school counselors and administrators; social-emotional advocacy and support; rural counseling and mental health.

12: Matthew McClain: Bling and Bow Ties
Matthew McClain is the Executive Director of the Colorado School Counseling Association. Mallory traveled to Colorado to present with Matthew on their session Bling and Bow Ties: Adding pizzaz to your school counseling program. 11: Dr. Rebeca Chow: Play Therapy, Trauma, Self Regulation
Dr. Rebeca Chow is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor in Missouri/Kansas and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor. Dr. Rebeca’s areas of specialty and interests are diversity and inclusion, neurobiology of mental health, supervision, and resilience. She is currently serving in the Association for Play Therapy Board of Directors and is a consultant for Sesame Street in Communities. Dr. Chow is the Director of Clinical Services at the Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, KS.

Kent Reed is a School Counseling Consultant and Project Director at the Kansas State Department of Education. 08: Sarah Flier, ASCA National Finalist: School Wide Relationship Building & Minute Meetings
Sarah Flier is an elementary school counselor in Hudson, Wisconsin, and is currently the Director of Data and the ASCA Model for the Wisconsin School Counselor Association and serves as an ASCA Model Trainer for the state. She was named the 2020 Wisconsin School Counselor of the Year and was an ASCA National Finalist in 2021.

07: Lisa Koenecke: LGBTQ+ Allyship
Lisa was a middle and high school counselor for 12 years. She is the Past President of the Wisconsin School Counselor Association and served on the ASCA Board of Directors. She is a Who's Who Top Educator for Lakeland University where she is a counselor educator. Lisa has given a TEDx Talk, is a three-time author, presented in all 50 states and internationally, and has her Diversity and Inclusion Certification from Cornell University, oh, and mint makes her sneeze!
