He was killed in 1994 by a fellow prison inmate. Who Was Jeffrey Dahmer? Jeffrey Dahmer was an American serial killer who took the lives of 17 males between 1978 and 1991. Over the course of more than 13 years, Dahmer sought out men, mostly African American, at gay bars, malls and bus stops, lured them home with promises of money or sex, and gave them alcohol laced with drugs before strangling them to death. He would then engage in sex acts with the corpses before dismembering them and disposing of them, often keeping their skulls or genitals as souvenirs. He frequently took photos of his victims at various stages of the murder process, so he could recollect each act afterward and relive the experience. Dahmer was captured in 1991 and sentenced to 16 life terms. He was killed by fellow prison inmate Christopher Scarver in 1994. Childhood and Family Dahmer was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 21, 1960, to Lionel and Joyce Dahmer. He was described as an energetic and happy child until the age of 4 when surgery to correct a double hernia seemed to effect a change in the boy. Noticeably subdued, he became increasingly withdrawn following the birth of his younger brother and the family's frequent moves. By his early teens, he was disengaged, tense and largely friendless. Dahmer claims that his compulsions toward necrophilia and murder began around the age of 14, but it appears that the breakdown of his parents' marriage and their acrimonious divorce a few years later may have been the catalyst for turning these thoughts into actions. By the time of his first killing, Dahmer's alcohol consumption had spun out of control. He dropped out of Ohio State University after one quarter term, and his recently remarried father insisted that he join the Army. Dahmer enlisted in late December 1978 and was posted to Germany shortly thereafter. His drinking problem persisted, and in early 1981, the Army discharged him. Although German authorities would later investigate possible connections between Dahmer and murders that took place in the area during that time, it is not believed that he took any more victims while serving in the Armed Forces. Following his discharge, Dahmer returned home to Ohio. An arrest later that year for disorderly conduct prompted his father to send Dahmer to live with his grandmother in Wisconsin, but his alcohol problem continued and he was arrested the following summer for indecent exposure. He was arrested once again in 1986 when two boys accused him of masturbating in front of them. He received a one-year probationary sentence. Victims Dahmer murdered 17 men between 1978 and 1991. H.H. Holmes was the alias of one of America's first serial killers. During the 1893 Columbian Exposition,  he lured victims into his elaborate 'Murder Castle.' Who Was H.H. Holmes? Herman Webster Mudgett, better known as H.H. Holmes, was a con artist and bigamist who was one of  America's first serial killers. Sometimes referred to as the "Beast of Chicago," Holmes is believed to have  killed somewhere between 20 and 200 people. He killed many of his victims in a specially constructed  home, which was later nicknamed the "Murder Castle." Apprehended in 1894, he was hanged for his  crimes two years later. Early Life Holmes was born Herman Webster Mudgett circa May 16, 1861, in Gilmanton, New Hampshire. Born  into an affluent family, Holmes enjoyed a privileged childhood and was said to be unusually intelligent at  an early age. Still, there were haunting signs of what was to come. He expressed an interest in medicine,  which reportedly led him to practice surgery on animals. Some accounts indicate that he may have been  responsible for the death of a friend. Holmes' life of crime began with various frauds and scams. As a medical student at the University of  Michigan, he stole corpses and used them to make false insurance claims. Holmes may have used the  bodies for experiments, as well. 'Murder Castle' In 1885, Holmes moved to Chicago, Illinois. He soon found work in a pharmacy, using his now infamous  alias, Dr. Henry H. Holmes. He eventually took over the business and was later rumored to have killed its  original owner.  Holmes had a three-story building constructed nearby, creating an elaborate house of horrors. The  upper floors contained his living quarters and many small rooms where he tortured and killed his  victims. There were also trapdoors and chutes that enabled him to move the bodies down to the  basement, where he could burn the remains in a kiln or dispose of them in other ways. During the 1893 Columbian Exposition, Holmes opened up his home as a hotel for visitors.  Unfortunately, many guests did not survive in what became known as the "Murder Castle." Many of  these victims — no one knows for certain the total number — were women who were seduced,  swindled and then killed. In the cutthroat world of magicians and mediums, Harry Houdini made enemies. He  had racked up so much ill will by the time of his mysterious death, in  fact, that some people suspected he had been poisoned by psychics whose  claims he regularly debunked. The cause of Houdini’s death — on this day, Halloween, in 1926 — was officially a combination of appendicitis and peritonitis,  an infection of the abdominal lining. But its onset was swift and  surprising in the otherwise healthy 52-year-old, known for superhuman  strength and the ability to escape every tight spot he had ever found  himself in — including being buried alive, one of four “close-ups with  death” of his career, according to a New York Times story.  The Times reported on the bizarre string of events that led up  to the fatal infection, including a barrage of gut punches from a  college student who wanted to test the strength of Houdini’s stomach  muscles. Although a doctor told him that his appendix had likely  ruptured, Houdini performed in a scheduled show rather than undergo immediate surgery, his obituary reveals. A theory soon emerged that his death was no accident, however, and the rumor stuck. As recently as 2008, Houdini’s grandnephew sought permission to exhume his body and test for poison, noting that the outspoken magician had given many people motive for murder. Listener discretion is advised. The June 1962 Alcatraz escape was a prison break from Alcatraz Federal Penitentiary, a maximum-security facility located on Alcatraz Island in San Francisco Bay. Late on the night of June 11 or early morning of June 12, inmates Clarence Anglin, John Anglin, and Frank Morris tucked papier-mâché heads resembling their own likenesses into their beds, broke out of the  main prison building via an unused utility corridor, and departed the  island aboard an improvised inflatable raft to an uncertain fate. A fourth conspirator, Allen West, failed in his escape attempt and remained on the island. Hundreds of leads were pursued by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and local law enforcement officials in the ensuing years, but no  conclusive evidence has ever surfaced favoring the success or failure of  the attempt. Numerous theories of widely varying plausibility have been proposed by  authorities, reporters, family members, and amateur enthusiasts. In 1979 the FBI officially concluded, on the basis of circumstantial  evidence and a preponderance of expert opinion, that the men drowned in  the frigid waters of San Francisco Bay before reaching the mainland. The U.S. Marshals Service case file remains open and active, however, and Morris and the Anglin brothers remain on its wanted list. New circumstantial and material evidence has continued to  surface, stoking new debates on whether the inmates managed to survive. Listener discretion is advised. The Wow! signal was received on August 15, 1977, by the Big Ear radio telescope at Ohio State University. Astronomer Jerry R. Ehman discovered the anomaly a few days later.  Completely baffled and surprised by the result, he circled the reading and wrote the comment “Wow!” on its side. The Wow! Signal was born! The mysterious narrowband radio signal appeared to come from the direction of the constellation Sagittarius and remains the strongest candidate for an alien radio transmission ever detected. Even Ohio State University Radio Observatory director John Kraus wrote in a letter to Carl Sagan: “The  ‘Wow!’ signal is highly suggestive of extraterrestrial intelligent  origin but little more can be said until it returns for further study.“ However, we still have no idea of the exact source of the strange  extraterrestrial message. Some scientists have suggested the signal  could have been caused by a comet orbiting in the inner solar system. But now, an amateur astronomer, Alberto Caballero, may have debunked the mystery behind the signal. After analyzing thousands of stars in the area the famous Wow! signal came from, he proposes in a pre-print paper that its source may be a Sun-like star, as explained in the video below. “The only potential Sun-like star in all the Wow! signal  region appears to be 2MASS 19281982-2640123. Despite this star is  located too far for sending any reply in the form of a radio or light  transmission, it could be a great target to make observations searching  for exoplanets around the star.“ So are you now convinced? Or do you still believe the Wow! Signal is of extraterrestrial intelligent origin. I do in alien cities and planets.

If you have cases about cases having to do with people, that's one thing, but I will not post stories about animals.  I also will not be interviewing minors.
