SURVEY - Help us make Happy Brain better and be entered to win a $25 Amazon gift card drawing.
Consistency! How do you maintain it? Today we focus on:
Short-term challenges such as 30-day or 75-day programs may not be the best approach to creating sustainable habits.
The importance of sustainability as the first priority.
Tracking just a couple habits a day as a starting point
The concept of habit stacking, where one can add more tasks to an existing habit to make the most of their time
Combining tasks such as listening to podcasts while walking or studying during free time.
Focus when creating long-term changes in your life.
About our Guest Kevin Palmieri
“I am the CFO, Founder & Co-Host of Next Level University, a Global Top 100 Self-Improvement Podcast with more than 1,250 episodes and 750K+ listens in over 150 countries.
Some people find rock bottom... I found out that rock bottom had a basement.
In my mid 20's... I had it all.
I had a beautiful girlfriend, high paying job, sports car, my dream body... but I still ended up sitting on the edge of a bed debating suicide.
After my rock bottom moment, I went all in on holistic self-improvement.
I was determined to overcome my anxiety, depression and to finally live the life I'd always dreamed of.
Years later, I now host a podcast that impacts hundreds of thousands of people in countries all over the world.
At this stage, I've helped grow the podcast into a multi six-figure business, and I've recorded well over 1,200 episodes.
I've also given hundreds of speeches, trainings and coaching calls with people all over the world.
The main thing that changed was ME.
I focused on learning what I didn't know (unlearning a lot too), and my life started to shift.
I love talking about Consistency, Commitment, Habits, Mindset, Confidence, Fear, Relationships, Limiting Beliefs and everything in between.
I believe in a heart-driven but NO BS approach to holistic self improvement, and I look forward to teaching even more people about what it really takes to get to the next level!”

Beat Anxiety with These Easy Tips from a Longtime Meditator!
Blair Abee is a longtime meditator from the Bay Area who went through a traumatic experience at work and was fired for being a whistle-blower. This experience prompted him to take a deep dive into his meditation practice for therapy and to start writing and journaling as a form of therapy.
After writing about 150,000 words, he realized he had some material that could be useful for others and started putting his six books together on meditation, which are available on Amazon.
Blair practices a meditation technique called Higher Consciousness Meditation, which bypasses the traditional mind training that comes with most meditation practices and puts him in direct contact or awareness of the all and the omnipresence of the universe.
He starts his day by saying "peace be still" and then practices Higher Consciousness Meditation, acknowledging his higher self and letting his higher consciousness answer his questions. Blair also shares tips for meditation and mindfulness that he uses in his daily life.
About our Guest Blair Abee
Blair is an author, poet, educator, consultant and ordinary mystic. He has written award winning 5 books available on Amazon Books and dozens of articles on meditation, manifestation, and related topics.
He describes himself this way, “I am an explorer who has discovered a variety of techniques, tools and ideas that I think you will find useful in your own personal development. Here’s an example of what I mean. From one perspective, each of us has a unique story in which we are born, live and die as three-dimensional characters here on Planet Earth. Simultaneously, we are also Five Dimensional Beings having an Eternity experience in a human body on a planet that is a challenge to master, and which gives us an opportunity to grow and develop into Universal Citizens.”

How to Beat Stress After a Major Health Episode
Summary
Finding joy in small things, such as spending time with loved ones or trying new things, can make a big difference in one's life. Practicing gratitude and positivity, such as listing great things that happened every day, can help improve one's overall happiness and well-being. Taking care of one's physical, mental, and emotional health is important for a happy and fulfilling life. Starting the day with a positive mindset and a sense of gratitude can set the tone for the rest of the day. It's never too late to make small changes and take steps towards finding joy and happiness in one's life.About our Guest Phil Barth
"On August 5, 2015 I took a surprise visit to the cardiac wing of Bethesda North Hospital in Cincinnati.
I suffered what was labeled a "small" heart attack. I remember thinking "if this is small I'd hate to see medium."
Per the advice of my Doctor I changed my diet, started exercising more and decided to work on controlling stress.
For the past five years I have published a daily list: Great things that happened today. Each day I celebrate the great things that happened. Since I started this journey I've met some fascinating people, discovered new recipes and celebrated life. And I've laughed a lot.
I even wrote a book on the subject - it's an International Best Sort of Seller (it went to #1 on free books when I released it... that's sort of a sale).
For my 15 minutes of fame, I was on the game show "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" in 2003."

Mindful Moments on the Mountain: The Power of the Skiing for Your Mental Health!
"When I first came to mindfulness and meditation, I thought it was you had to sit with a very quiet mind, you couldn't have any thoughts. And I was thinking, how is this going to happen? And I've learned over time that it's really just allowing the thoughts to move back and forth, recognizing that they're there, I almost kind of wave at them and say, oh, hey, how are you?"
In this episode, we feature Erik DeRosa, a former financial analyst from New York who found peace and mindfulness in the mountains of Colorado. Erik shares his story of how he left the fast-paced city life to become a ski instructor and how skiing helped him beat stress and anxiety.
Key points:
Skiing is not a competition, but an experience to be savored and enjoyed. Spending time in nature, whether on the mountain or just outside, is a key way to combat depression and anxiety. When feeling stressed, find a special place in nature in your mind that you can go to as a way to beat anxiety and stress.Through his journey, Erik emphasizes the importance of living in the moment and finding peace in nature. He shares his tips and insights on how to get the most out of your time on the mountain and how skiing can help you find balance and inner peace. Join us as we explore Erik's journey to mindful skiing and learn how to bring mindfulness into your own life.

Finding Laughter in Mental Health: An AI-Powered Episode (Using ChatGpT, Pictory and Descript)
The AI Episode
Like so many, I have been fascinated by the emergence of ChatGBT, an accessible AI that can write poetry, recommend travel plans and yes generate text for a Podcast. Combining this with other tools, such as Descript and Pictory, I created this AI Mental Health Podcast. This is a total experiment and I would love your feedback, good or bad and what these kinds of tools will mean going forward.
In addition to the audio podcast, you can watch the video here on another platform.
Here are the Steps I used to Create this Podcast.
Access ChatCBT to generate the Text I Entered the Following text:I want to create a new 15 minute episode of my podcast. Here is the show description. Can you generate topics and copy for a new episode?
Most conversations around mental health can seem kind of heavy. Is there a way to promote our mental and emotional well-being in a fun and entertaining way? Join Sean Bloch each week as he explores the FUN side of mental health by digging into simple hacks and fun tips to make your mental health journey more enjoyable and your brain a little happier.
Access Pictory to paste the text from ChatGBT to create the video. https://pictory.ai?ref=sean72Access Descript to generate my AI Overdub Voice by pasting the text from ChatCBT. Return to Pictory to add the Overdub voice to the video. Create the final video.
In summary, I created an entire episode of Happy Brain with no original though and no use of my voice except for the introduction.

Exploring Spiritual Clearing for Mental Wellness: A Thought-Provoking Episode
In this week's episode of Happy Brain, host Sean Bloch takes a step outside of his usual fare and ventures into the world of spiritual clearing. Joining him as a guest is Alida Morrill, an expert in the field with over 12 years of experience helping people get and stay balanced.
The episode is an experiential and hands-on journey through a spiritual clearing process, with Alida guiding listeners through the process of ridding their minds of stinking thinking and clearing their energy of contaminants. While the topic may be a departure from the norm for Happy Brain, it is certainly thought-provoking and a must-listen for those interested in exploring alternative approaches to mental wellness.
However, it should be noted that there is a trigger warning for the topic of suicide mentioned in the episode. The guest does talk about the tragic suicide of her ex-husband, but the episode itself does not address the issue.
For those who are intrigued by the concept of spiritual clearing, be sure to check out Alida's website (https://energybalance4you.com/) and LinkedIn profile (https://www.linkedin.com/in/alida-morrill-909a41a/). Open your mind and enjoy this unique episode of Happy Brain!
About our Guest Alida Morrill
Alida has been helping people get and stay balanced for over 12 years. She ensures that their energy is clear of all contaminants and especially non-beneficial energies. These energies are very common in our world and most people are unaware of them. The most important aspect of Alida's processes is that she helps her clients rid their minds of stinking thinking...something that can bewilder any one of us.

How to Use Communication for Better Mental Health
“How would your life change if you were an exceptional communicator? There's so much fear and stigma and stress around communication, whereas for me, communication is sending a video message to somebody that you really love spending time with. It's ordering food at a restaurant and making the waiter for once in that shift feel really happy. It's about making new friends, about raising our families. And our children, and once we realize that we get a lot more motivated to practice all of this,” - Brenden Kurmarasamy
Why is it so important to be a good communicator in terms of your mental health? We talk with Brenden Kumarasamy, an expert communication coach and teacher about ways to set boundaries in important relationships in your life for better mental health!

Virtually experience in the episode of Happy Brain an Animal Rescue Farm and meet a number of beautiful, hand-raised Therapy Cows (incl. Amy, and Sally) to enjoy both the scientifically proven physiological benefits of the activity as well as the relaxing effects of being outside in the open air on our scenic farm surrounded by tropical rainforest. -----------------------

Not only do people get to enjoy the amazing benefits of Cow Cuddling Therapy but they can rest assured that their participation directly helps to support those most in need in our local community (in terms of employment opportunities and through contributions to Cancer Wellness services) in addition to providing a safe, long-term home for our beautiful Therapy Cows.
