Live Not Loathe - Interview with Jevon Wooden
Healing with Aloha Podcast
Host Deslynn Jaquias
Jevon Wooden is a business and mindset coach and veteran of the US Army and the tech industry. He specializes in empowering motivated people to build the life of their dreams, professionally and personally. After navigating his fair share of adversity and emerging from it stronger, wiser, and committed to uplifting others, he felt called to this line of work. He grew up in poverty in Rochester, NY. His childhood and youth were marked by struggle, pushing him off the beaten path, and forcing him to find a new way forward for himself. Along the way, he took a few wrong turns. He was arrested at just 17 years old and faced seven years in prison. This experience was a profound wake-up call that shifted everything for him: his perspective, values, and life goals. During this time, he turned to his faith for guidance, and God answered his prayers. He learned the power of taking inspired action, investing whole-heartedly in relationships, embracing his authentic self, and genuinely connecting with others from a place of understanding and transparency.Connect with Jevon

The Power to Rise Above - Interview with Sandy Davies
Healing with Aloha Podcast
Host Deslynn Jaquias
Sandy Davies had a dream of being a writer. Through the pandemic in 2020, she started to curate a vision for "The Power to Rise" based on experience with workmates. She wanted to honor incredible women and experience. She was invited to be in "Courage & Confidence What It Really Takes to Succeed in Business" book to honor her mom who was a glass ceiling breaker in the 80's. She was asked by Dr. Tererai Trent, Oprah's favorite guest of all time, to be in the "Sacred Promise" book. She's currently working on her first anthology now which includes 30 writers for "The Power to Rise Above" and will be released 2022. Deslynn Jaquias, the host of Healing with Aloha Podcast, is a contributing writer from Hawai'i.
Sandy survived the loss of her brother to suicide, her parents divorced, then her mother relocated from the U.S.A. to Australia to be with her and her husband. Her mother inspired her to be who she has become as a entrepreneur and a writer. We can have tragedy and heartbreak that we don't know how we will ever get through it, but Sandy notes we all have the power to get through. Everyone's grief journey is unique without a time limit. Gotta give ourselves grace on our grief path. She shares how she processed grieving the loss of her mother.
Long before writing books and launching HappyPause™, Sandy Davies was born and raised in the American Midwest in the state of Kansas. Sandy accidentally ended up in Australia, and stayed. Her mantra is it is never too late and you are never too old.
An allergic reaction to a treatment for intimate dryness during perimenopause launched Sandy out of semi-retirement to become the Queensland based formulator and founder of award winning HappyPause™ Balm.
As a bit of a rebel who struggles taking ‘no’ for an answer, Sandy turned the lack of a simple, preservative-free natural solution for intimate dryness into her mission.
The creation of HappyPause is Sandy’s ‘yes.’ A tiny pearl of HappyPause puts a spring back in your step. Creating HappyPause has brought Sandy unending joy in her second spring.
At every chapter of life Sandy has thrived on giving back as a part of her ethos. In this HappyPause era, Sandy’s Australian Pay It Forward partner is The Period Project working to eradicate period poverty.
When not packaging and processing HappyPause orders and heightening menopause awareness, Sandy has turned her hand to writing. In addition to co-authoring two #1 Amazon Bestsellers, Courage & Confidence What it Really Takes to Succeed in Business and Sacred Promise, Sandy has also created her own anthology The Power to Rise Above. The Power to Rise Above brings together thirty women from across the globe who bravely share their stories of resilience to assure others that they, too, have the power to rise.
Sandy enjoys helping others and spending time with her husband and their rescue dog Karma hunting nautilus shells along the fringing reefs of The Great Barrier Reef at the edge of the World Heritage Listed Daintree Rainforest.
The Power to Rise Above will be available from late 2022.

Behind the Sosefina Movie - Interview with ManuScript Films - Hinano Tanielu and Namuali'i Tofa
Healing with Aloha Podcast Host Deslynn Jaquias
Special guests Hinano Tanieluand Namuali'i Tofa from ManuScript Films discuss the journey, struggles, and perseverance of creating their first ever film Sosefina Polynesian American movie which will be released on May 14 in Utah.
SOSEFINA, a new Drama/Romance Polynesian American feature film, has announced its official release in the United States May 2022. A self-funded, self-taught film by Taleni Tanielu, Namuali’i Tofa, Hinano and Manu Tanielu, a family of Pacific Islanders. SOSEFINA is an inspirational and motivational story based on the true experiences of a Pacific island girl who is challenged to overcome adversity and personal struggles, and must decide whether to continue on the straight and narrow or enter the seedy world of adult entertainment. An important cultural work that speaks to the core of Pacific Islander identity, SOSEFINA shares a story that is not typically promoted in the traditionally strict and reserved Pacific Islander culture. The drama and romance story encourages a new generation of Pacific Islanders in the United States and around the world to embrace who they are, share their stories, and create their own opportunities in the world around us. The film stars lead actor Diamond Langi, the 2019 Ms. Universe New Zealand, along with supporting actor Lehi Falepapalangi from Hulu's "Future Man," Netflix's "Naked Director," and "Doogie Kamealoha, M.D" and others from across the continental United States. Many involved with the project were first-time filmmakers and up-and coming actors, yet all have established a name for themselves with their talented work on this film.
Hinano Tanielu born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. Hinano and her husband Manu decided to relocate to Utah along with their kids Chylen, Manu Jr. and Mahealani. Manu & Hinano are Polynesian-American filmmakers based in St. George, Utah. Co-founder of ManuScript Films, specializing in films for Polynesian audiences, focusing on empowering our culture through visual storytelling and music arts.
Namuali'i Tofa is born and raised in Santa Ana, CA. He studied music, art, and 3d animation at Mesa College. Music producer, engineer, composer, script writer at ManuScript Films. He is self taught, fluent in multiple instruments.

Grieving Those We Love - Interview with Kimberley Pittman - Schulz
Healing with Aloha Podcast - Host Deslynn Jaquias.
Kimberley Pittman-Schulz is an award-winning poet and author who writes, teaches, and speaks about death, living mindfully, and being a force for change in the world. She helps those struggling with loss, specially women, to cultivate joy in their lives. By following her steps, beginning with simple mindful sensory moments (what she calls Tiny-Come-Back-to-Your-Senses Rituals), those in grief can learn to create space for this joy to emerge, and re-engage with life through giving to a cause bigger than themselves.
Neither a grief counselor nor a therapist, Kimberley offers a fresh, unique perspective through her personal experiences with loss and grief as well as her work as a philanthropist and an end-of-life planning advisor. She challenges the common assumption of grief and joy as opposites and believes that they can, and do, co-exist, and that with practice you can grow joy and well-being. Kimberley’s book, Grieving Us, was a #1 New Release on Amazon in several categories upon its release in March 2021.

Growing with Grief - Interview with Autumn Toelle - Jackson
Autumn Toelle-Jackson has lived a life of love and loss, filled with happiness and marked by tragedy. Labels are too simple, but they do have meaning and they do tell part of her story: wife, widow, mother, survivor. The loss of a husband, a beloved cousin and mentor, her daughter, and miscarriages have left scars on her soul and memorial tattoos on her body, but Autumn learned to grow through it all. She found love and reasons to get up each day until those days strung into weeks, then months, then years. Autumn and her family created Growing with Grief to provide those who are grieving with a place to find community, resources, and help. She wrote an award-winning memoir "Boldly into Darkness: Living with Loss, Growing with Grief & Holding onto Happiness" which is available in an audiobook, ebook, and paperback, wherever you buy your books.

Love Doesn't Hurt - Interview with Clinton Patton, Sr.
Clinton Patton Sr is the founder of the Ashley Renae Hamilton Foundation. The Ashley Renae Hamilton Foundation was established because his sister Ashley Renae Hamilton was murdered August 12, 2007 as a result of domestic violence. He is on a mission to save lives with the hopes of ending domestic violence because it is a vicious cycle that silently plagues our community and deprives its victims of the right to live in peace. Victims of domestic violence are at a risk for death with each day they are in an environment with patterns of domestic violence. Most victims stay because they do not have access to safe housing or resources needed to help them to stay out of abusive relationships/ marriages. No One Is Gonna Be Strong All The Time
I attended a ZOOM meeting “Educating Suicide With Lived Experiences” with panelists from Guam and Texas. The Social Progress Podcast host Chelsey Cruz will repost the meeting on her Instagram @guam.social.progressor
What I learned from their personal sharing is how much expectation is imposed upon men to be strong. 💔 Between these three panelists four male loved ones died. My hope today is that you know it’s okay to not be okay and that you have nothing to prove to others. It’s ok to ask for help. We may have not been taught growing up to seek help when we feel overwhelmed by life, but we can get assistance. You will always be valuable.

She divorced and remarried and had her last child. Her hubby recently went to jail and she had to raise her youngest son on her own. Many heart breaks but God always pulled her up from heavy life situations. Life isn’t perfect but she’s happy and healthy. God has truly blessed her life. Mornings on Kaua’i - Nature calls

Aloha Kakahiaka! Good morning from Kaua’i 🌴🌊🎶

You are good enough. You are priceless.

New Year to Mend Your Broken Heart
Three tips to mend your broken heart: journal your thoughts and feelings, tap into your higher power and spiritual well-being, and listen to music. Need to release our sadness, anger, or frustration with the situation or circumstance. Tears are an unspoken way of connecting with ourselves. These are not a quick fix to mending your heart. Yet we can progress at our own pace to gain hope for ourselves from moment to moment. You can exist and that is enough.
Sending tons of aloha, love, and light.
