Caroline Flack and being kind to each other | HelloTomDyer Recap #47
I was not the biggest fan of Caroline Flack. As a result, I didn’t take much interest in her life. Yet still, reading the news last week that she’s killed herself still hit me harder than I probably realised at the time. My sister even feels the same way.
Reading the comments and the hate that she received by pursuing her path is upsetting. It’s upsetting because we share this world with those who took the time to spread the hate and vitriol that led her to feel that she had no other option.
I mention the twitter @secretbarrister
I mention @tferriss
I mention Danny Cirpriani
I don’t mention The Samaritans but please talk and reach out to help yourself and others. Telephone 116 123

See the full beauty of life; take risks | HelloTomDyer Recap #46
“Life’s beauty is directly proportional to the amount of calculated risk you’re willing to take. Take the risk.”
And that is the theme of this weeks episode. I’m in a period of risk taking as far as pride and embarrassment are concerned and I’m tackling them head on because I want to see the beauty in life around and within me.
Listen on for more information as to what you gain by putting yourself in these situation.
If you have any thoughts or questions please get in touch.

How Acting Changed My Life | Ignite Cardiff #41
In 2019 I took part in my first Ignite Cardiff event at The Glee Club Cardiff and talked about acting and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
The response in the room was fantastic so I'm sharing with you to give you permission to put aside your worrying thoughts about yourself and what others may think and just do what it is you want to do.
Be grateful for the life you have | HelloTomDyer Recap #44
I grew up wishing that American dream and playing basketball in school very aware of Kobe and Shaq playing for the Lakers. It’s so sad that he’s and the others have been taken so young.
It reminds us that we should love our fullest lives everyday.
Life is a miracle and there is beauty all around us. We just need to take time to see it. We can all take some time to view the pleasure and treasure around us as highlighted in Mindfulness for Health (Vidyamala Burch and Danny Penman).
Hug your close ones closer and open your eyes to the world around you. You might not see tomorrow
Are you living by your good habits? | HelloTomDyer Recap #43
Thank you also to the mystery donor or Jen Sincero’s ‘You Are A Badass’ left on my desk. Thank you.
This week I talk about habits and how I basically these last couple of months, probably going back to the tail end of summer how much I’ve lapsed in my good habits!
So this is a little declaration to start good habits and therefore breaking bad ones - my worst being procrastination.
Have a great week everyone. You are extraordinary
January dragging me down or something more? | HelloTomDyer Recap #42
Is January getting you down? I’ve succumbed to something and I don’t think episode necessarily makes for nice listening but it has helped lift me somewhat.
What can we do when we’re feeling off? We can be real hard on ourself, like I have, or we can open up and be honest with ourselves.
Listen to your gut. Get thoughts out of your head and onto paper and actually figure out what it is that is not aligning properly.
Happy New Year! Who’s cheering you on this year? | HelloTomDyer Recap #41
I’m kicking off the year by focusing on cheering on yourself. Wearing your own name on the back of your shirt and cheering on yourself. People around you will still support you but don’t expect them to cheer and be as jolly as you are or want to be. They’re on their own roller coaster. But don’t let that deter you from your joys and achievements.
And this isn’t coming from a place of just success either. Family and friends can’t get as high as you and they need to protect themselves against the lows too. Not everything you do will pay off so they have stay grounded around you. But don’t let that put you off the pursuit of who you’re meant to be.
Just this last week I’ve taken small steps toward something big, I’ve been cast in a show AND I’ve been rejected from a show. Swings and roundabouts and I shall dance in the highs and the lows.
Have a great 2020! I’ll be here if you need me.

New Year - let life get in the way of life | HelloTomDyer Recap #40
HelloTomDyer Recap #39 : Merry Christmas
HelloTomDyer Recap #38 : feeling flat
This post is similar to the one I posted in September. I’m not feeling myself this week and I don’t really know why as there’s so much good going on and I’m loving the houses with their fairy lights on and I love the spirit of Christmas.
But true to my values I want to give some insight that even those of us who may appear to be happy go lucky all the time still have thoughts and feelings that drag us down and hinder our ability to get on with our days - but we still do.
We still get up and we take on the day.
If you’re in a festive slump look after yourself. Be mindful. Talk openly. Do something you enjoy and don’t judge yourself.
Look after yourself.

Jesus Christ Superstar closed on Saturday and I cannot believe I was not only part of the summer festival again, but part of something truly terrific.
I have loved the whole process and feel like I’ve improved as a performer over the entire period. I got to share the stage with pure talent and I am very grateful to have shared the experience with them.
Thank you Rich and Rob for your stewardship and let me walk on that stage again! It truly is an honour every single time.
To everyone who made it so special, cast, crew, festival team and audiences - thank you. The response was every audience was fantastic
One piece of feedback I had after the Saturday matinee (paraphrased): “I feel closer to my faith having watched that as I can see what the man, who I believe is my saviour, suffered for us. You did a remarkable job in giving us that story. Thank you.”

HelloTomDyer 5 Questions #2 : Ben
I've known Ben for a over a decade and it was a pleasure to deliberately talk to Ben about my 5 Questions and to delve deeper into conversation than we usually would; we are quite deep talkers anyway!
In this episode you will hear Ben talk about his passion for education and where that came from. You will also hear about his meditation practise.
He goes into depth about how running changed his life and how the online community supported him through that.
Ben also talks very candidly about coming out and the impact that had with him and his family and how that has been left.
Lastly, Ben leaves with us with his thoughts on what he wishes everyone should know - tune in to find out what that is.
As ever, you can contact me on social media platforms on @HelloTomDyer. I would love to talk further with you about the themes raised in this conversation.
I believe ordinary people live extra-ordinary lives, this conversation prove it.
If you know someone who might benefit from this episode please do share it. If you have liked the episode please review and subscribe to. IF you know someone who has led an extraordinary life I'd love to speak to them, let me know who they are.

HelloTomDyer : 5 Questions #1 : Abigail Dyer
This week I have a guest on my show! My very own sister, Abigail Dyer (@Abigail281281)!
My vision for this podcast is to not only share what I am doing with my life but to highlight the amazing in the every day person.
I believe passionately that we all lives and that this comes from acceptance of who we are and a committing toward our own better future. This can take the form of contentment and in the form of trying to ever progress and learn more in our quest to live on this planet in a way that makes us feel happy and content.
Abigail is one of my greatest supporters and I very much doubt I have persevered as much as I have with my #IAccept vision without Abigail's guidance and wisdom. She also loves the Unisex 3/4 Raglan Tee as she has three of them in different colours. I received mine today!
In this episode I ask Abigail five questions that I wrote down over a year ago and I think you'll be blown away by Abigail's experiences in life and how this has shaped her outlook on life as she currently trains to become a social worker.
A single teen mother she now has a son in the army and a daughter still in school. Is Deputy Manager of a care home in Pembrokeshire while studying toward her social work degree.
I am incredibly biased when I call her funny, sentimental, caring and an absolute go-getter.
I hope you enjoy this revealing episode and if you want to get involved by all means drop me a line on social media @HelloTomDyer or use the Anchor app to record me a message that I can play in a future episode.
If you like this episode please do share it on to someone else who might like it and be sure to leave a rating on iTunes so more people can find it.
If you know someone who should also be asked five questions, reach out, I'd love to have the opportunity to speak with them.
If you'd like to find me I'm everywhere @HelloTomDyer and if you want to join the #IAccept movement you can go to https://HelloTomDyerShop.com to get your hands on some clothing to show the world that you accept who are and that you are committed to achieving your goals.
HelloTomDyer Recap #10 : Why ‘I Accept’
This is a revealing podcast explaining my mantra behind ‘I Accept’. My movement to help me and others get out of our own way and move forward with our lives.
The movement was started after a calamitous 6 months back in 2017 which saw my relationship breakdown, be homeless, face redundancy and have my car broken into.
I kept face about a lot of things during that time and even laughed, loudly, about it all.
The car being broken into was the last straw. My laptop and external hard drive with a years worth of video was taken. I was well and truly defeated.
I didn’t have a home. I’d lost my network of friends. I had zero job security. And my ex was starting a relationship with a friend of mine. I was devastated.
I spent 3 three months away from Cardiff. I fell into depression and anxiety and couldn’t function.
Through my family and my old football team I gathered my strength and fortitude again. I started getting ideas again. I was invited to apply for my current role - a promotion on my last role and I succeeded and I’ve now supported over 100 people leading a support service using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT); the same tool I’ve used to get me out of my rut.
I’m getting my passion back and I’m living more and more on my terms.
You can too.

HelloTomDyer : 2018 in Review and what to do to have the best 2019
!!Happy New Year!!
I wasn't able to just pick my best 9 pictures and I had so much fun looking back over my pictures that I've gone for a top 40!
If you haven't already gone back through your camera roll on your phone and look at everything you've been a part of this year, the things you've witnessed, do it now! You've probably done a lot more than you think; it was for me!
My year didn't start like this though and January was genuinely stomach-turning but thank you to my family and friends old and new for helping me find me again.
Tenovus Cancer Care - ACTivate Your Life and Machu Picchu
Broad Haven F.C - I'm better now than I was 10 years ago!
Penarth Operatic & Dramatic Society - Spamalot
Cardiff Open Air Theatre Festival: Everyman 19 - Fiddler on the Roof

There are still things that need work but compared to this time last year, good grief what a difference! My New Years video from last year still exists on my YouTube if you really want to see it.
A new video, by demand, is to follow this post too! It will provide insight on the year I've just had and what you can do to highlight the good points, what to do with the bad points and a technique to help you identify them.
Thank you everyone, here's to a wonderful 2019!
Make it yours!
