RIP Minivan! That's right, she is GONE! But, before I could record this episode in Carpool, the dang carpool line closed down!  Y'all when I talked to you last week the term "social distancing" wasn't even a thing. Now here we are this week, off the rookie squad for Social Distancing. This is hard, uneasy, and scary time. I want us all to stay safe and healthy. Now is a great time to get those wish list projects done and to get those "Honey Do" lists done. It is also a great time to make memories with your kids. Yes, our kids need to learn, but they need to feel love and stress free first. So, don't stress over teaching your kids common core math and the worksheets. Just read books, go on nature walks, watch movies, and have conversation. They will learn through those experiences too!

Pre-Momma vs. Momma. Who were you before you were Momma? Ever felt like you lost a little bit of yourself to motherhood? In today’s episode I’m comparing Leah to Momma.

The powers that be decided last weeks “this would only happen to me” story wasn’t good enough and caused another “wtf story” to happen to me! Here is a quick story that happened to me last week! Anyone else have this happen to them?!?

It’s like the forces that be want me to earn my title as the HMMC ringleader so they force messiness into my life. Here is another “Only me” story that once again proves I’m worthy of being the ringleader. Also, I have some more ranting to add to last weeks episode...sorry and I’m done now :)

There ain’t nothing “fun” about fundraising so I’m not sure why the word FUN is in that word. It’s time for my annual rant session about school fundraisers. I’ve got a colorful vocabulary today, so listen when the kids are at school.

Hello 2020! You guys, we are officially in a new year!!!! I love the start of a new year. It means its time to get organized, get re-focused on goals, and just overall feels fresh. I hope your new year is off to a great start!  Here is what we are covering in today's episode: -Word Of The Year: As you know, we don't really do resolutions around the club....instead we pick a word or phrase to focus our year around. 2019 was the year of Prioritize and I am going to say I did ok.....some months/weeks were better than others. Take some time this week to think of your phrase/word. -Birthday Club: With all of the 12 Days of Giveaways, I totally forgot to send out December Bday cards...that is ok though because what I had planned for 2020 is gonna be retroactive to our December birthdays! Its the last Monday of November so it is time for our MOM call! We had another month of technical difficulties so we are breaking up with our conference call company. I will be spending time in the next coming weeks to figure out what platform we will use to host our calls. Stay tuned for those deets. In this week's episode I am debunking some myths about adoption. In the 3rd segment, I ended up getting on an emotional soapbox. I apologize. After recording 100 times, I finally decided to leave well enough alone and just go with it. Again, I intended for this episode to be lighthearted but it turned emotional and serious. Reactive Attachment Disorder, or RAD , was our first diagnosis. We have and continue to deal with RAD on a regular basis. I am frequently asked about RAD since it isn't always so obvious to others as to what RAD looks like in children. I hope this episode, complete with real examples recorded as they happened, gives you some insight into RAD and what it looks like for us. If you, or someone you know, want to chat about RAD, please please please email me. I would love to chat about RAD and the therapies we have tried and be a sounding board for others in this same boat! 

October is OVER and we are moving on to a new month. A new month means it is time for a new challenge! This month we are going to say NO. As moms, all too often we take on extras that we don't need to. We stress ourselves out trying to please others. This month we are going to focus on our priorities and say no to the things that we simply don't have time for.  It is also Adoption Awareness month during November. On 11/15 a new adoption tee will be hitting the Swag Shop. $10 from every shirt sold will be donated to a family that is currently fundraising for their adoption. I hope you will purchase a shirt & support families who are trying to adopt! 

In early October I asked for volunteers for our October Mom Of The Month. I was OVERWHELMED with the amount of mommas who wanted to be on the Chit Chat podcast. Rather than exclude or make you wait, I decided I would host a virtual mom's night out each month! During our moms night out, we will chat, laugh, vent, and rant then on the last Monday of every month, you can come here to the podcast and listen to our call!  Our first call wasn't without issues. I heard from many of you that there were technical difficulties. I also heard that some of you fell asleep before the call time. No worries! We're back on the road! This is our return trip. I'll go ahead and tell you there is less energy & enthusiasm in this episode. There may (or may not) be more Jonas Brothers talk though! While I enjoyed the extra one on one time with my momma & seeing my family, I am so glad to be back home and back into my bed & routine. I had 2 boys & 2 dogs who really missed their momma. Huge props to JHub for holding down the fort & despite all the chaos, managed to keep the house going. Even when I am away, our house is a Hot Mess! 

Take a Road Trip with me & my momma! Today’s episode is the on the way up. We’re traveling back today so next week’s episode will be us coming home. We woke up at 3am and spent 15 hours in the car. We finally made it to Iowa to spend a few days with family before journeying home. Enjoy!

Its the first Monday of May which means its our Mom Of The Month episode! In today's episode we're talking all about the IEP process. While the kids and teachers are excited that we are nearing the end of the school year, us SPED mommas are dreading this time of year. We know that this is the time for the dreaded IEP meeting. We have to face cold hard truths, discuss goals not met, celebrate wins, & set goals for next year. In this episode I get raw and real, giving you a glimpse inside of Q's IEP papers. I am reading some of the wins that brought tears to my eyes. I am reading you some of the misses that brought out my momma bear side. April is Stress Awareness Month. I have been very intentional about my stress this month. I have started meditating, I have hired a cleaning lady, I have taken time off, I have had honest conversations with myself....I've done all these things to be more aware and intentional about my stress. During that honest conversation with myself, I thought about how I handle stress and one of the things I do when I am stressed is eat. I am a stress eater. After trying on a bathing suit, I decided to record this episode on the fly to talk about stress eating, self doubt, & embracing the skin I am in. I honestly hope that none of you can relate and you all love your bodies. That would be AWESOME. But, I have a feeling, I am not alone here. I want to spend a few minutes sharing my heart and helping you see that you are not alone!
