Jesus Christ is the very heart of Christianity. The entire reason He came to earth was to die on a rugged cross to pay the price for our sins and reconcile us to a Holy God. That's right. His heavenly job description was to come to earth and die a brutual, inhuamane death for people who mocked and hated him, and He knew it before he took the job, and chose to fulfill the role anway! That is incomprehensible.
Today's podcast is not for the faint of heart. It is difficult to hear how our precious Savior was viciously beaten and crucified, but it is important to remind ourselves of the great price He paid to save us and how infinitely much He loves each of us.
Next week, we switch gears and look at the exhilirating account of Christ's resurrection and victory over sin and death! Praise the Lord for His awesome power and love for us! Please join us!

Next week, we will take a look at Jesus Christ's death and burial, and in two weeks, we will focus on His magnificient resurrection. Please join us!

Angels Around Us - Part 5
This is our final podcast in the "Angels Around Us" series, and it is the most thrilling one yet! We are looking at the angels who interacted with Joseph, Mary and the shepherds at the time of Jesus' spectacular birth that first Christmas night. We pray this podcast brings you joy as we learn how much God loves us. He loves us so much that He sent His one and only Son to be born in a lowly manger and, ultimately, to die on the cross for our sins. And, He conquered sin and death when He rose again on the 3rd day!
This is a wonderful day to celebrate His birth and to embrace Him as your Lord and Savior. We will share how you can make that crucial decision at the end of this podcast.
Next week, we will discuss spiritual health goals for the new year. Please join us!

Angels Around Us - Part 3
Thank you for joining us for the 3rd of our 5-part series entitled, "Angels Around Us." In today's podcast, we will take a deeper look into angelic involvement in our lives and on the earth. God sent angels to be examples for us. Angels carry out some of God's plans, both bringing joyful news and glad tidings and also doling out judgment and destruction on the wicked. Angels were created to glorify God, and they are not to be worshipped. Only God is worthy of our worship and devotion. We will discuss all of these topics and more on today's show.
Next week, we are looking for some audience participation! If you or someone close to you has had an angelic encounter, please share it with us! You can send your angel stories to us via email at hopewellcounsel@gmail.com or text it to (612) 499-3744.
We would be honored to share your story next week on Hope for the Hurting.

Prayer - Activating Spiritual Armies
Thank you for joining us as we discuss how we enter the spiritual realm through the portal of prayer and activate spiritual armies to battle the dominion of darkness. If that sounds intense, it is! The Bible tells us that there is a spiritual battle raging all around us. Prayer is the portal to the spiritual battlefield, and God's word is our sword against the enemy.

Armor of God - Prayer: The Courage to Fight the Battle
Thank you for joining us for this final episode in the Armor of God series as we discuss how to use use our spiritual armor in battle through the power of prayer. Prayer is the portal to the spiritual battlefield. This is how we fight our battles - in prayer, fully protected by the armor of God and wielding our Sword of the Spirit/the Word of God against the enemy of our soul.
Today's topic is also the bridge to our next mini series on Prayer. Next week we will discuss how prayer is used to activate spiritual armies, and the following week we will take an inside look on what happens in the heavenly realm when we pray. Armor of God - Sword of the Spirit
Thank you for joining us for the seventh episode in the Armor of God series. Today's piece of battle gear is my favorite, the Sword of the Spirit. Every other piece of armor is used to defend us from Satan's attacks. Today, we are going on the offensive as we learn how to take up and wield the Sword of the Spirit, our only offensive weapon against the enemy. The battle we are in is not of this world. There is a war raging in the heavenly realms, and we need to pierce the darkness by memorizing and boldly proclaiming God's word and having it at the ready when Satan moves in to attack.

Armor of God - Helmet of Salvation
Thank you for joining us for the sixth episode in the Armor of God series. Today, we will learn how to place the Helmet of Salvation securely over our heads to protect our minds from satanic assaults. Christ has already won the war against Satan through His redemptive work on the cross and His miraculous resurrection. We just need to stand firm and use the armor God has given us as his children to hold the line against Satan's attacks.
