The Horror Dads do a deep dive into a formative decade for the Horror genre - the 1990's.  The mid and late 90's saw a resurgence of popularity in the Horror genre, largely due to Scream, but the Horror Dads take this episode to review the decade as a whole.  This episode focuses on one film from each year of the 90's.  Most fan-favorites and obvious picks are not represented on the list of selections.  However, everything from hidden gems, blockbusters, and cult classics are found throughout the course of discussions as John and Jamie review this critical decade.

The Horror Dads have the distinct pleasure of sitting down and talking with Larry Zerner, the actor who brought us the character of Shelly in 1982 in Friday the 13th Part III. Larry's iconic character brought the hockey mask into the Friday the 13th franchise.  Larry and the Horror Dads discuss the film in detail, and talk about the environment surrounding the release of a 3D film in 1982.  The film released the same time as E.T., Fast Times at Ridgemont High, The Thing and other cinematic greats - tune in for the exciting discussion.  

Film remakes in general are contentious. However, in the Horror genre, remakes are under even more intense scrutiny as cult-followings of classic films have complicated and complex fan bases. Emily starred in a brand new film (also starring Barbara Crampton), entitled Alone with You.  The film was co-directed by Emily and her film making partner, director Justin Brooks.  Justin and Emily join the Horror Dads to discuss the film, and to talk through the challenges of creating a film during the pandemic.  This is a special Horror Dads episode, so don't miss out!

John and Jamie interview Tony Cadwell, Director of the brand new Kane Hodder (yes, the Jason Voorhees Kane Hodder) film, Balsam - A Paranormal Investigation. Tune in to hear what working with Kane was like and for details on the filming location and process of this paranormal documentary. 

Everyone has to start somewhere, and there are some academy award-winning actors that got their big break by taking a chance on small-budget horror films. John and Jamie cover some big Hollywood names that got their start in the horror genre. 

John and Jamie interview Alex LeVasseur who illustrates children's books. The group discusses Horror Films based off of children's stories, and explores horror in small-town America.  Tune in for a deep discussion on parenting, real-life horror, and many prominent themes found within the tales geared toward young adults.
