Today’s topic is one that pretty much everybody in the Horse Industry has to go through at some point.  If you're in the industry long enough, you'll have changed barns and/or trainers, or you will be changing barns and/or trainers. And many times this happens at the beginning of the year and because of that Lynn and Regina wanted to take some and bring light to this oftentimes, hard topic.

Today’s episode is answering a question that has been an issue for Regina for many years. The question she and Lynn are discussing today is: Am I a customer or am I a client? Brent and Julie have been involved in the horse industry for over 40 years. They are dedicated to raising training and showing all around Paint and Pinto horses for youth and amateur, and they provide a wealth of knowledge to the horse owner or buyer in particular. In this week’s episode Lynn and Regina are discussing every equestrian's greatest fear, injured horses. Regina shares with listeners a recent personal experience with her own injured horse (grab your kleenex because it’s a tear-jerker). They also give some tips from a few articles about how to get through the difficult time of having an injured horse.

In today’s episode Regina expands on one of the crime stories that we touched on in the last episode. This particular horse industry crime story involves a horse show murder of Larry McNabney.

Regina first saw Larry’s story on TV, while Lynn and her husband, Kevin, listened to the same story on the way to Texas on a Dateline podcast. The story involves a man named, Larry McNabney, who was murdered by his wife at a horse show in California.

Regina and Lynn have delved into the dark side of the horse industry and they have been shocked at the amount of stories out there.

Unfortunately, countless stories about fraud, accompanied by ill-gotten financial gains, seized horse properties, as well as high dollar horses are nothing new in the equine industry in recent years. In fact, there have been at least two high profile criminal cases involving federal horse seizures and interestingly, both have ties to the American Quarter Horse Association.

Today, Regina and Lynn are discussing those stories in this second part of Horse Industry Crimes.

Today Lynn and Regina are talking about one of their favorite topics! You have probably heard Regina and Lynn mention how much they love Crime Junkies Podcast, they love murder mysteries and crimes. So in this episode they are talking all about crimes in the horse industry, starting with some small crimes and working their way up to one of the biggest crimes in all of the horse industry, Rita Crundwell.

Lynn and Regina are back again with Part 2 of the Chincoteague Island Ponies episode. And just in case you were wondering, Misty and Stormy are still sitting on their desk a week later for this episode.

Lynn and Regina have had a ton of fun talking about these ponies. Last week, they discussed the two different islands, how the ponies got to the islands, and the auction that happens every spring where you can purchase your very own Misty or Stormy. They have even started a coin jar to start saving to buy their own ponies.

So this week they are going to talk about the story of Misty of Chincoteague as well as the family that raised her and the author of the book that purchased, wrote and made Misty famous. Let’s dive into Part 2.

Raise your hand if you had a Misty and Stormy figurine from Chincoteague Island growing up? Both Lynn and Regina read and loved the books which is not a surprise since they were horse/pony obsessed, and still are. So it would only make sense that they would record an episode about the ponies of Chincoteague Island.

This is the first of two episodes about this most beloved story.  In this first part they will cover the two herds of Island ponies, some of the backstory, and fact-based history. And then the second one, airing next week is all about Misty.
