(73) Dan Wolf: Actual Vote, App for a Crowdsourced Election Audit

Dan’s organization Democracy Counts has created an app for any US citizen to easily participate in a crowdsourced, independent audit of today’s election. Will this idea prevent the election from being stolen? And more importantly, is that cool?

“It allows anybody to go to their polling place… take a picture of the polling tape and push a button” to submit their precinct’s official results to independent auditors after the election closes.

To participate in this crowdsourced audit, download Actual Vote in the App Store or Google Play.

Lulu wants to create a coalition to maintain the integrity of elections. If a bunch of smart people work together, can our elections work better to serve us? And more importantly, is that cool?

“If all of us work together, then we can really make this a hot button topic the way that other issues have really risen to the top of our national consciousness.”

Inspired by Nick's joke suggestion on a recent episode, Brian recorded his own idea and talked to himself to evaluate just how cool it is.

Brian's idea is that "How Cool Is This?" should air daily episodes until the 2020 General Election in the United States is resolved.

"It is very possible that we will know [who wins] Tuesday, but if we don't, Nick and I are prepared to do daily episodes until we do know... which hopefully is not next year, but if it is, then we will keep going."
