Episode 14: Supporting Disclosures of Sexual Assault with Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center
Today the helper we are looking to Mary Stolz of the Wichita Area Sexual Assault Center. We discuss the history of WASAC and the services they provide, misconceptions around Sexual Assault and the connection between Sexual Assault and Human Trafficking. We also talk about how you as a community member can become a safe person for a victim or survivor of Sexual Assault to come to, the appropriate way to support a disclosure and what we need from YOU to bring and end to Sexual Assault.

It Takes A Village is a transitional living environment that provides youth in foster care and other at-risk youth with a structured environment, educational and employment opportunities, life skills development and a place to call home. ICT S.O.S. has partnered with It Takes A Village for many years, we consider Terry Atwater a friend and admire his leadership in serving youth in our community.

Look For The Helpers: Liz Upton & Jennifer White talk Mr. Rogers
Mr. Rogers continues to inspire us and the helpers in our community. His T.V. show, Mister Rogers Neighborhood, captured the hearts of kids and adults all over the world. But it wasn't just an entertaining show, built on fostering connection and childhood development, Mister Rogers Neighborhood pioneered educational television giving children a safe place to be belong and learn.
Back in November 2019, ICT S.O.S. held a special private screening of A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood celebrating some of the helpers in Wichita. We interviewed helpers during the event to find out what they loved about Mr. Rogers and why they decided to become a helper. Liz Upton, MSW and Jennifer White discuss the life of Mr. Rogers and his pioneering work.
