Ep. 11 - A conversation with Iwan Brioc about developing the politics of flow
Iwan Brioc is Artistic Director of Theatr Cynefin and a consultant in applied theatre. He has also been an independent Theatre of the Oppressed practitioner and trainer for 30 years, specializing in Legislative Theatre and Rainbow of Desires and regularly contributes to publications in the field. His academic qualifications are in Social Psychology, Dramatherapy and Mindfulness and in collaboration with Bangor University Department of Cognitive Neuroscience and the Centre for Mindfulness Research and Practice developed Context Oriented Arts (CoArts). This theory posits that different modes of theatre -classical, participatory and immersive, represent and support different kinds of consciousness – Cartesian, Inter-subjective and Non-dual respectively. Currently, Iwan is teaching schoolteachers mindfulness online; piloting the fourth iteration of a creative learning mindfulness curriculum for young people and developing the concept of Rheocracy – the politics of flow.
