We are seeing how problematic a Braun/Beckwith administration will be. AG Rokita is awful and the supermajority continues to write policies that can be harmful to Hoosiers. OH, and there are three members of the IN Supreme Court on your ballots. We have the chance between now and Nov 5th to change the direction of our state. We can't sit this one out. Too many of our state house races are uncontested, which is a tragedy. One question I often hear is who is running for this office or that office. But it is not easy to run for office, and the candidates need all the help they can get. This is where we are, and unfortunately, not enough people care about their own interests to vote for the people who will protect body autonomy, protect public education, and protect collective bargaining. We have less than 60 days left, and you know the stakes for this year's election. Democrats around the country are excited about the Harris/Walz campaign. I join in that excitement.

I understand how easy it is to focus on the presidential race; however, we need that same energy to make sure Indiana does not take a turn back to the 1950's. The Braun/Beckwith, with a supermajority if we don't flip some seats in the state house, will do just that. Braun's policies do not align with the needs of Hoosiers, and Beckwith is just flat out dangerous. Beckwith is a White Christian nationalist and is working tirelessly to recruit more to his vision of America.

That is why it is necessary for us to work with and be committed to helping Jennifer McCormick and Terry Goodin win the election for Indiana's top seat. Now that we have all taken a breath from the primary, have you considered which candidates or campaigns you will support?

May I make a suggestion? We must end the super majority in the statehouse. So many policies that are being created can be harmful to Hoosiers, and good policies that could help Hoosiers are not getting into committees.

As Democrats, we don't have enough elected officials on our side to push any initiatives we may have. The best we can do is hopefully make bad bills less bad or try to add amendments to bills that could help Hoosiers.

Our state government is not representing the people, the way it is supposed to.We can complain, but it would be better for us to spend time helping candidates. Like my two guests this week.

The Republican super majority is causing real harm to real people in Indiana with little resistance because Democrats just don't have the numbers.They have the fight, but they need more left-leaning bodies.
