So Many Stories - Season Closer
Today, I'm closing out Season 1 with a little bit of a recap and some thoughts on Season 2. Thanks for listening.... talk to you soon. 🤙
Please share an episode or two with a friend, leave a review, and I'll be back in a few weeks.

"Little Luna" by Sara Egan
Today the reading of a story by my friend Sara. It's written for kids, but good vibes for everyone. If you'd like to help her get this book illustrated or published. Reach out.

Direct, Quick
A sleepy day... Here's a poem I wrote a few years ago about a moment of energy, an electric high, a time when I realized that I'd be ok again.... someday.
Part of this podcast is examining myself in relation to the world. Looking 'in here' while I'm 'out there.' Dig?
Yeah I know, it's obscure. It's a poem. So.... I dunno, listen a few times, maybe you'll get something out of it.

Impromptu Community
Today was the last day of the Great American Tiny House Show - Tampa edition. A few of us created a neat little impromptu community there, and honestly, for the first time in a while, I felt a bit of hope for humanity.

Today, I...
I'm so tired. There was so much.
Please don't be mad at Tulsi, she got scared.

Great American Tiny House Show
I'm at the Great American Tiny House Show this weekend, showing off the Vitruvian Van, talkin about vanlife, minimal living, .... probably going to gush on Thoreau a bit.
Stay tuned!

Existential Fluency
I wrote this while cruising the straights of I-95 South through Georgia and Florida this week. After chilling with some owls this evening, I thought I'd share my thoughts on becoming more aware of existence - by listening, learning, and building fluency in the -way- existence unfolds.
I'm not deep..... YOU'RE deep. 🥺
(oh, and, pretty sure it was two barred owls, if you were wondering.)

False Pretenses
Today, the story behind the theme music for "In Here, Out There" — a track from almost exactly 10 years ago, called 'False Pretenses', written by ... me! (kinda).

Little Grill Collective
The 50th Episode!
Today, I visited one of my favorite little restaurants. A 'dot' of something different, a place for the community to gather and grow, a place for new beginnings. Thanks to Molly, Doug, and Brent for taking the time to talk with me about the Little Grill Collective.
If you enjoyed the episode, please share with a friend and/or leave a comment on Apple Podcasts, and/or click 'follow' on Spotify... Or do all three

Rushing is the Anti-Cruise
I'm headed back down to Florida for the Great American Tiny House Show with the van. I got up early to get a head start, but then I opted to take it slow..... why rush?
VAN: www.VitruvianVan.com

Pronoun Diligence
Today, a story from Sara about confronting her own ignorance and choosing respect, even if it made her uncomfortable.

I Messed Up, How About Marrow Instead?
Turns out yesterday's 'saying' may have been less common than I thought, oops. Try this one on instead.
Also mentioned: Check out the Great American Tiny House Show in Tampa next weekend. I'll be showing off my van, come say hi.
Music today by both, myself and Terrible Horrible Enormous Things

Have You Heard this Saying?
Hard on the heels of a government shutdown -averted and with the declaration of a 'state of emergency' by the president, I thought we could chat about a little thought-experiment/colloquialism. I'm wondering if you've ever heard of this saying before.... take a quick listen.

The Mysterious Postcard
I received a cryptic postcard in the mail... to an address almost no one has. There was a just a phone number and a note that said "Ask for Jennifer". Today I call the number.

What's the Context?
I recorded this podcast three times before coming to a more concise thought. Here it is. (Also some exciting news about tomorrow's episode.)
Today I'm thinking about passive and institutional racism, how it spreads, how it comes to exist. I could tell you my theories, but let's cut to the chase and get to work.... listen, I think you'll get what I mean.

Snow Day
Today some folks are having a snow day. I'm leaving work early to venture through the snow and sleet in my adventure van. Let's talk about snow days and driving theory and land preservation, yeah?
Cool.

Sharing Rob's Wisdom
I met this guy Rob a while back. I don't remember much about him, but he gave me a little wisdom and I'm going to try and pass it on today.
And today I'm taking that wisdom in the direction of expanding your perspective; to try and use the information and ART around you to connect with people who live differently than you do.

Hey Bear, Whoa Bear
A little bear story from about a year ago, when I was standing just where I'm standing tonight.
Also - Come say hello to me in Tampa, FL next week at the Great American Tiny House Show.

A Creek's Legacy
I was listening to the wind in the trees and thought about the local lake here. It's man-made and fed by a small creek. I felt bad for the creek and I wrote this little thing.

Smelling Home
I made it up to New England from Florida in two days of straight driving. I grew up here, and there's just something about it..... "it's the smell!" says Agent Smith.... (jokes, but for real.)... I can always FEEL a change when I drive from north to south on the east coast—at some point you know you're there, you've crossed some imaginary line and returned to the region you were born from.

Peeper Party by the Highway
I left Florida early this morning after exploring the state for a little over two months. Now I'm headed up to New England, where I built the van, for a short work trip. On the way I found one of my favorite sounds in an unexpected place — unexpected adventures, unexpected sounds..... seems like we are establishing a theme here on the ol'cast.

When Do We Intervene?
Think with me.
I went for a walk and just started recording. I've been thinking about when it's ok to intervene; to confront someone; to try to influence an outcome. This is what I made.
If you enjoy the diversity of this podcast; adventures, stories, thinky thoughts.... leave me a review and subscribe to see what's next.

Helicopters and The Lady Atlantic
Today I have a story for you from my friend, Nicole. It's a story about how adventure can be found, even in the most familiar places.
Enjoy with headphones or in the car - I'm pretty proud of my sound design on this one. I'm learning as I go, but I'm really enjoying building a world with audio - it leaves so much to the imagination.

That Time I was Followed: A Meta Story
I've been getting curious all weekend. Yesterday about art, today about the form of stories. A few years back I drove for Lyft in Denver and had a creepy experience caught in the middle of a feud of some kind and it left me thinking about what actually MAKES a story worthwhile.

Art That Makes You Feel Bad
Today I'm bringing you along on my evening walk to talk about authenticity, and art that makes you feel bad. Also the coolest thing happens mid walk. (I'm not telling you, just go listen.)
If you want to see how many edits I ACTUALLY made during this episode, head over to my facebook profile for the proof. Let's talk about it, leave me an authentic comment.

The Vitruvian Vanlife
Today a behind-the-scenes intro to the Vitruvian Van - my 'vanlife' home and mobile podcast office.
I talk about my motivation to build a van-home / tiny house and the art project that formed around it.
