Episode 6: Krista Arias, Xingona Girl Smoke
In this final episode, New Mexico-based artist Krista Arias joins host Toby Lawrence and a live audience via Zoom to read from her collection of her poetry, Xingona Girl Smoke: the pace and posture of permission. As part of her 2021 exhibition, The Earth is my Elder, at Open Space, the evening began with an introduction to the work, followed by a screening of her video-poem Eating Our Ancestors, a selection of poems read by Krista, and Q &A.

Episode 5: Considering Curatorial Hospitality
In this episode, host Toby Lawrence introduces ideas around art, curation and hospitality with excerpts from her forthcoming chapter, “Its Roots and Its Innovative Departures: Considering Curatorial Hospitality,” in Creative Conciliations: Reflections, Responses, and Refusals edited by Jennifer Robinson, Tarah Hogue & Jonathan Dewar. Following the reading, Toby is joined in conversation with Open Space staff, board members and contributors: Gerry Ambers, Krista Arias, Charles Campbell, Lino Caputo, Miles Giesbrecht, Lindsay Harris, Eli Hirtle, Doug Jarvis and Joy Ngenda.
