Episode 87: Y'all really mad (The Rise of Lonely Single Men)

This week's episode is about an article I read on Psychology Today, entitled, The Rise of Single, Lonely Men. Now as I would expect, the article gained some attention after it trended on TikTok and Twitter. Needless to say, the viral exposure ruffled the feathers of various men, especially the more misogynistic fan types of Kevin Samuels and Andrew Tate. Despite my thoughts in this episode and reading the article, I honestly didn't find one disparaging thing about men. It simply pointed out that most women want more emotionally available, communicative men. As to why that pissed off the fellas... who knows?! I guess telling the person you're into how you feel and in turn caring how they feel was a strike against their masculinity?

I often talk about accountability and owning up to the roles we play in relationships or situationships. Well I would be a hypocrite if I didn't practice as I preach. So here it is! I spent some of my break engulfed in a bit of an online situationship that I not only knew better to do in the first place but actively continued to participate in. Now the person, who I kept anonymous played their part as well... and I guess had me fooled a bit. Not because they were cunning but because I refused to follow my own cardinal rule.

Episode 74: Ghosted 👻😱

A few years ago, I did a video on YouTube about ghosting and it got me to thinking about those that do it and why? I mean we always talk about how crappy it feels to be ghosted but we rarely talk about why it really happens. It goes beyond being simply uninterested. Ghosting isn't always the act of cowardice. I mean at its core, ghosting is potentially a trauma response and the avoidance of emotional unavailability in others even though the ghosted are emotionally stable. Recently a friend brought to my attention that I had ghosted him on several occasions. But if that wasn't bad enough, I got to thinking about the potential partners I had in the past and how I skated off in fear of the unknown. Only to end up with the worse possible jerks afterwards.
