In the spirit of Halloween (the original one, not the retail store), we’ve reanimated Rich over a dose of Nyquil and spooky Eagles green to get a quick and dirty podcast about a few things we’ve been watching and experiencing this past week.  Join us as we chat about assassins, baby stealers and scary writers, and maybe just a touch too much football.

After a brief and unexpected hiatus from the airwaves, we have returned to your weekly experience, dear listeners!  Our journey this week takes us through a pair of puzzle (and sometimes puzzling) games, a horror movie with Those Damned Kids in it, and a PS5 price increase, all leading to some commentary on Meta’s new VR/AR headset. 

Well met, Star Travelers!  We take to the cosmos this week on a path towards this week’s early access release of Starfield.  I spend a few moments exploring Nordic mythology in my review of Bramble: The Mountain King, and we stare dreamily into Idris Elba’s eyes while appreciating the romp that is Hijack.  And we’ve finally answered the question: are they gay? 

May it always be said that we are here for the work!  Rich is in the field this week and recording amidst technical hurdles to bring you the best in podcasting entertainment!  We continue a bit of Star Trek Discovery banter, and explore which is more WTF: Somerville or The Black Tower. 

This week’s particular stretch of podcast road is done LIVE and IN PERSON, with Rich and I winging it on bellies full of burger and brew.  Topics include just how zany Strange New Worlds can get, and a staggeringly deep dive on the form factors available to us on the new crop of foldable phones introduced at this year’s Samsung Unpacked 2023.

A lawyer's work is never done, and this has never been more true for our beer-enjoying on-staff legal representative, Rich.  We delve into the totally-not-final ruling of Judge Corley on the FTC v. Microsoft PI hearing, and I bid adieu to a tale of a plague, while holding up the coffee end of The Dehydration Duo.

Rats! Another week, another Twitter competitor enters the chat here in the tech world. In a short-by-explosive episode, Rich and I tackle the multitude of potential usurpers to Elon's new 44 billion dollar toy, as well as a moment or two on stealth games and the inquisition.

It would be a fine time for Rich and I to escape to the virtual world amidst the second round of smokey skies this year, and a freshly damaged roof situation.  Stay awhile as Rich discusses the stunning scale of Norse mythology in Asgard’s Wrath, and I chat a bit about how gross medieval rats are.  Too, this week would not be complete without not-so-quick stop in court to see how fair and balanced the FTC is being in the Microsoft-ABK merger proceedings.

This week is dominated by a round table (if a table of two can be round?) conversation on the highlights of the Xbox Games Showcase earlier this month.  We also are provided with expert legal analysis on the extremely current and shockingly exciting developments in the Microsoft ABK merger, but not before Rich and I share very different experiences in connected online games.

Soaring through the AI-generated minds at Google, we spend our time parsing this week’s I/O conference, dreaming of a world where devices are flexible and priced fairly.  A quick stop in handheld PC gaming is also on our docket this week, discussing the Asus ROG Ally announcement, the future of Windows handhelds, and Rich Tripping the Tokyo Fantastic.
