SS Mission Stories

This season we are featuring mission stories from the Inter European division which includes Portugal, France, Romania, Switzerland. Mission offerings will go to five projects in four countries this quarter.

Lydie, a good student with good grades, could not afford to go to university without scholarships or financial aid from her parents. But God opened a way for her to attend nursing school at an Adventist University. It's a story of love begets love. God helped Lydie through university, and she gave her life to Him.

A testimonial on how 13th Sabbath offerings in 2016 helped build a school of medicine at the Adventist University of Central Africa in Kigali.

When God blesses for the construction of a building for his service in Rwanda, winning souls for Christ starts with the construction workers in this story, "Construction Saves Lives" as told by Eustace A Penniecook.

Last week, Henry found himself attracted to the Seventh-Day Adventist Faith after enrolling at the Adventist University of Arusha in Tanzania. He enjoyed worship services, vegetarian meals, and Sabbath activities. But he remained a devout member of his family's denomination. Will Henry follow his new faith and beliefs? This first quarter of the year we will be featuring mission stories from East Central Africa, including stories from Democratic Republic, Uganda, Tanzania and more. This 13th quarter offering will go to six projects in the countries of Rwanda, Uganda, Ethiopia, Kenya and Tanzania. Our story comes from Tuvalu in the South Pacific. A seed was planted at a young age in Barry's life by an aunt. Later in life, he remembers God again. Read Barry's journey back to God for him and his family.

Tune in to listen to Solomon's story from Papua New Guinea for November 12, 2022. Know that World Changers Bible Project began as an initiative of the South Pacific Division's Adventist Youth Ministries Department under the leadership of Dr Nick Kross. Today, more than 225,700 Bibles have been distributed across the division as missionaries entered new villages in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands, Samoa, Fiji, and elsewhere.

Graeme shares his personal testimony as a way to introduce people at Alcoholics Anonymous to the life transforming power of Jesus.  How can you share your personal testimony in a way that the Holy Spirit can transform hearts?

Our mission story this week comes from New Zealand, by Christie. This season 7 and 4th quarter of 2022 will focus on mission stories from the South Pacific.

This quarter we feature mission stories from the South Pacific including Samoa, Australia, the Cook Islands, Fiji, French Polynesia, Kiribati, Nauru, New Caledonia, New Zealand, Niue, Papua New Guinea, Pitcairn, Samoa, the Solomon Islands, Tokelau, Tonga,  Tuvalu, Vanuatu, and the Wallis and Futuna Islands. Projects this quarter include establishing a Hope Channel television and Hope FM Radio in Papua New Guinea, and producing King's Kids Discipleship Series, five children TV series of 13 episodes each based on the Conflict of the Ages series. Mission story for 2.26.22 from Laos. Kina is a pseudonym. The territory of Laos is a part of the Southeast  Asia Union Mission in the Southern  Asia-Pacific Division. The first Seventhday Adventist mission station was opened  by Richard C. Hall and his family in 1957  at Nam Tha, in one of the northwestern  provinces. A short time later, Nai Mun  Lansri and Abel Pangan and his wife  joined them, and by 1961 a church with 44  members, mostly from the Maeo people  group, had been organized. In 1962, all  mission personnel were evacuated from Laos  because of war. Shortly after the missionaries  left, military forces overran Nam Tha, and  the mission buildings were destroyed. Part of this quarter’s Thirteenth Sabbath  Offering will help open a school where girls  like Kina can study in Laos. Timor-Leste Mission was organized in 2009 and is attached directly to the Southern Asia Pacific Division of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church. There are 696 members worshipping in one church and two companies. This quarter’s offering will help construct a dormitory at the school so that children from faraway villages, such as those where Mario serves as a Bible worker, can study at the school.
