#146 3 Lesson's from the Career of the GOAT | A Tribute to Leandro Lo
Today the jiu-jitsu world woke up with terrible news. The loss of one of the Legends of the sport, Leandro Lo.
Lo had always been my favorite grappler and I just wanted to put a short episode together not focused on his death but his life and one of the best jiu-jitsu career's ever.
I hope some of the thoughts and stories shared in this episode are helpful.
RIP Leandro Lo

#127 How to Steal Ideas, Techniques, and Strategies | Inspiration
I like when they say a movie is inspired by a true story. That's kind of silly. "Hey, Mitch, did you hear that story about that lady who drove her car into the lake with her kids and they all drowned?" "Yeah, I did, and you know what - that inspires me to write a movie about a gorilla!" - Mitch Hedberg
There are a lot of great grapplers out there, how can we learn from them without every buying an instructional?

I know I will take heat for this episode. But, like I say at the end, I would love to hear your opinion if you're pro warm ups in a class environment. I just find them to be a waste of time.
Small caveat that I should of mentioned but simply forgot. I have found that warm ups in kids/teen classes are really helpful for getting kids focused and ready for class.

#60 Jw Wright: Growing Jiu-Jitsu
#60 Jw Wright: Growing Jiu-Jitsu
For me(@thejoshmckinney) coming up in the St Louis Jiu-Jitsu scene there is one person that was never a part of my team, whom I believe had a huge influence on my jiu-jitsu. Whether by creating tournament series/super fight shows that I was able to compete on or training up opponents that I had the privilege of fighting. That person was Jw Wright(@jw.wright).
I think if there's one hidden thing to pull out of this interview it is how important it is to give back to your local jiu-jitsu community. That was something that Jw has always done. Even though you could argue that my team was his direct competitor in business and in competition there was always an open door policy both ways when to came to cross training and helping each other out.

What are the Fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu?
What are the Fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu?
I ask, "How do I suck less at Jiu-Jitsu."
Everyone says, "Focus on the basics." What does that mean? Is it like when you're 6 and ask where babies come from and your mom says, "you'll find out when you're older."
Are we just not smart enough to know the basics?
Well, I have a theory on what the basics actually are and why everyone's answers to "the basics" are different.
