Stories of the Forgotten

Come with me today as we explore a murder that took place in Amador County in the late 1920's. Learn the tragic story of the death of Stockton resident, Harold Lage, and find out all the details concerning the murderer, Willard Shannon who would eventually become one of Folsom's infamous "93" men to be executed by hanging. 

Today, September 18, 2022, join me on a trip to three cemeteries in Jackson, California, as I share with you the stories of each of the 47 miners who perished that fateful night of August 27, 1922. On the 100 year anniversary of the date (September 18, 1922) the miners were discovered and recovered, I will share with you the names of each miner and the details of their lives. 

Travel today with me, as we go deep down into the Argonaut Mine in Jackson, California, as you learn about the events that took place on the night of August 27, 1922. Learn the details of what transpired that night, as well as eyewitness accounts from the men who barely made it out with their lives. Tragically, 47 miners working in the levels below weren't so lucky. Stroll along with me through Anaheim Cemetery, where I will share two stories, one connected to each grave. The first grave, located on the most southern easterly side of the cemetery we visit Charles Lehman. On the eve of the 150th anniversary of his death, Anaheim's first lawman who was killed in the line of duty, I will discuss the particulars regarding the unsolved crime, and some other questions left unanswered. Walk along with me to another spot close by in the cemetery where we will visit the stories of Augustus Langenberger and Clementine Schmidt, and I will share with you their love story and the scandal they both caused that rocked early Anaheim to its core.

Come with me to Louisville, Kentucky, where we will analyze the suspicious circumstances behind the death of Elizabeth Griffith, just days before her wedding in 1919. Learn all the particulars surrounding this story and see how the truth always comes out in the end, and sometimes justice comes in the oddest of ways. 

In this episode we will examine the story of Albina Bergala Keyes' life and death, while also comparing the similarities to another heinous crime that took place only 20 years prior. Did tragedy follow Albina's family? Learn all the particulars surrounding this Amador County mystery.

In this second installment episode relating to Preston, I take a deep dive into various fatal incidents that have left their mark on this abandoned school and share with you the facts surrounding each one of these cases.
