Travel today with me, as we go deep down into the Argonaut Mine in Jackson, California, as you learn about the events that took place on the night of August 27, 1922. Learn the details of what transpired that night, as well as eyewitness accounts from the men who barely made it out with their lives. Tragically, 47 miners working in the levels below weren't so lucky. Let's go over the facts of this case, piece by piece and try to determine, if possible, what really happened that night.  **This will be part one of a two part series in honor of the 100th year anniversary of these tragic events in Amador County history.** (A huge thanks to my friend, George Pasalich, grandson of Steve Pasalich, survivor of the Argonaut Mine Disaster who has so willingly shared his family history with me.)  Some of my Cited Sources: The fantastic and irreplaceable Larry Cenotto did a lot of research into this subject and it is duly noted within this podcast; information from O. Henry Mace's book "47 Down" is also mentioned.
