Having grown up in working class neighborhoods and as part of a large extended immigrant family, Liam learned early on how the government could both help and hinder families trying to make ends meet. And he resolved to be a catalyst for change. During law school, Liam interned with Junta for Progressive Action (“Junta”) providing free legal services to low-income residents. During that time, he was a researcher that helped support Junta’s and Unidad Latina en Acción’s (“ULA”) “City to Model'' proposal that produced nationally-recognized pro-immigrant municipal reforms. After law school, Liam joined the Department of Justice, where he took on corrupt hedge fund managers, debt collectors, Wall Street bankers, and Connecticut’s former governor. Liam also worked in a drug rehabilitation court to help justice-involved individuals reduce their time on supervised release. After the massacre at Mother Emanuel church, he was part of a small team that brought the then-national Chair of the NAACP, Rosslyn Brock, and then-director of the FBI, James Comey, to New Haven to discuss community and police relations with local residents. Liam left the Department of Justice to become a legal aid attorney. At New Haven Legal Assistance Association, he worked closely with the Dixwell Community Management Team and the Community Placemaking Engagement Network around economic issues. He also assisted Mothers and Others for Justice to form the Room for All Coalition that developed a series of affordable housing proposals. He then joined the Connecticut Veterans Legal Center (“CVLC”), where he helped expand state-wide services to low-income veterans recovering from homelessness and mental illness. While the executive director at CVLC, LIam oversaw an increase in services to survivors of military sexual assault and the production of two national reports on gender and racial disparities in Congressional nominations to the military service academies. In the wake of the 2020 push for criminal justice reform, Liam was recruited to become the first Inspector General in Hartford. He currently serves in that position, where he investigates allegations of police misconduct.

Parker sparked the minimum wage increase proposals in Los Angeles by being the first to author and initiate the Los Angeles $15 minimum wage ballot initiative in 2013 that would have taken effect immediately upon voter approval. Sadaam Hasaan was born Hasaan Marlow. Originally from West Philadelphia, he was raised in various parts of Delaware. After witnessing his father being taken away by law enforcement in a raid of their home and losing his only male guidance, he turned to music to fill the void of pop's being away, which is where the inspiration to write initially came into play. Surrounded by bad influences in the neighborhood that he grew up in ,it wasn't long before the streets became a way of life. At 15 years old with his first child on the way, he was booked for a 1st degree assault , losing a year of his youth, where he discovered that writing was his passion and became his way. He came home with new found responsibilities, a son to look after and care for. So, he took to what was available to him at the time being, and that was the drug game. After a 3 year run and being caught in a sting he was booked yet again & placed on probation. At this time, he had another son on the way, which is when he decided to start taking writing more seriously. Now with 2 sons, he began his musical grind.  Unfortunately , in February of 2012 he was booked yet again on a plethora of 1st degree charges, but by the grace of God won the case at trial, and decided to never leave his children again.  Now Sadaam Hasaan is CEO of League of Elite Entertainment LLC. , which covers all entertainment grounds, from book publishing to music publishing.  His goal now is to build a platform for brothers and sisters who are looking for a productive outlet to express themselves so that they don't have to express themselves negatively the way he did coming up.. Peter Goselin is a labor and employment lawyer based in Hartford, Connecticut. For more than 25 years, Peter has represented individual employees and labor unions in legal claims against employers. Peter has taught classes on the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) at the University of Connecticut School of Law and a major part of his practice is wage and hour claims, including claims of wage theft brought against employers on behalf of immigrant workers. Taye Uhuru (Tah-Yay Oo-Who-Roo) is a historian, archivist, genealogist, student of middle childhood education and an independent hip-hop artist. The author has visited over 45 states and 60 countries. He has recorded and performed with musicians in the Netherlands, South Africa, Senegal and several other countries. During his travels he has studied abroad. In 2014 he studied in the Dominican Republic at Universidad Ibroamericana (UNIBE). While in the Dominican Republic, he studied Caribbean diseases, Dominican history and culture. He also volunteered at Ama a Tu Projimo Orphanage, La Mina and Centro El Café community centers. In 2016 he studied abroad in Brazil at Universidade do Sul de Santa Carina (UNISUL). There he studied Portuguese, Brazilian history and Capoeira. Taye has also dedicated several years to working with people who have developmental disabilities and tutoring children. The author has also participated in fund raisers, food drives and back to school give away's for people in need in Cleveland, Haiti, Philippines, Cape Verde and other countries. He likes to spend time with his family, study different cultures, learn foreign languages, try new foods, read books, garden and write music. Each year Taye takes groups of adults, middle school, high school, and college students on educational tours to Africa. Ahmad (They/Them) is a disabled, trans, queer, Muslim, indigenous Palestinian focusing on creating transformative work around displacement, decolonization, equity, and centering lived experiences of individuals most impacted by injustice. Currently, they are working as an Equity and Transformation consultant, supporting various organizations in four continents. They are working on their MA in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice from Queen’s University Belfast. They have worked in over two dozen countries, and specialize in global and community vision building. Ahmad is an engineer, with a specialty in sustainability and social engineering, a peer support specialist, has a traumatic stress graduate certificate, and is currently working towards a MA in Conflict Transformation and Social Justice. They are the Founder of Life in My Days, an international non-profit that supports individuals and their communities on their journeys for self-actualization through mutual aid, transformative justice, and disability justice. For the last few years, Ahmad has also been a Master Recovery Educator, facilitating the RI Peer Support Certification training nationally to certify individuals as Peer Support Specialists.
