EP 11 Asking for help can bring a lot of self judgement
"When you cannot ask for help without self-judgment, you are never really offering help without judgment." Brene Brown
Here are some thoughts and themes that could be why you might not be asking for help or getting the help you need
"If I don't do it all, everything will fall apart": Women often take on too much out of fear that they won't be able to maintain control or appear competent.
"I have to be perfect in everything I do": Women often hold themselves to impossibly high standards that are difficult to meet, leading to feelings of inadequacy and burnout.
"I'm not worthy of rest and relaxation": Women often feel guilty taking time for themselves because they feel they should always be productive and achieve something.
As I talk about today it’s not unusual to be a helper and not being helped.
In this podcast I’m sharing how you can start unraveling the shame of asking for help.
You are NOT alone, even though you may feel like you are, holding the weight of the world on your shoulders.

EP 8 From being a BUSY VICTIM to Victoriously living with her toes in the sand -Jess sharing her STORY
"We are all human and it can look different for everyone, doesn't have to look like everyone else to be important or meaningful."
I'm honored to get the chance to talk to and coach this amazing woman Jess.
Lost her best friend in her teens, parents split up a year later, and then diagnosed with cancer in her early 20s. But even with all that going on, she was always smiling and laughing, saying she was "fine" or "okay." Can you imagine, didn't blame her for feeling like life was just happening to her?
And after all of that, she started to feel like she should fix herself by losing weight and getting fit. But as we worked together on her mindset and being in her body, she was diagnosed with cancer again, that is when she finally got it.
She realized that busyness wasn't a point of pride, she didn't need to fix herself and she was finally ready to celebrate herself and enjoy life. She's connected with and working alongside her own body, and let me tell you, she's glowing now like never before!
It's amazing to see that she's now confident in her ability to live a meaningful life without being too busy to truly live it. Her story is truly remarkable, and I think we could all learn a thing or two from her.
Jess Madden is a 49 yr old wife, mom of two amazing girls (15 & 11), sister, daughter, volunteer, realtor, office manager for a small company, lover of food, laughter, music, good books, the ocean, sand between my toes, great friends and family - on a journey to stop being too busy to enjoy life, to feel 'good' and find out what I truly want out of life.
