And we all thought Thanksgiving week couldn’t get crazier than Gameday?! But what another whirlwind week ends the way they always do, with it being a great time to be a Duke! We both had a LOT to say this week.

Proud to Be a Duke! Always!
The boys make a mostly futile attempt to process a week filled with every human emotion imaginable. There’s so much here from the heartbreaking loss to the highest highs, even during this game. Plus Gameday and hoops (we’re not talking enough about hoops) and volleyball and soccer (we’re realllly not talking enough about this!) and love for fellow Dukes!

Dukes Down ODU, head to Atlanta Next
The fellas try to calm down after an exhausting Homecoming Week both in the stadium and online 🤣. The Dukes beat a game ODU team and will face a similar challenge scheme-wise at Georgia St. this week. But with JMU rolling, what an unbelievable time to be a Dukes fan! Oh yeah, Todd also has a bit of a meltdown about shenanigans from the Monarchs and the SBC officiating crew.

This one meant a lot and we let our most loquacious sides ramble down the glorious road to victory four decades in the making. Dukes Everywhere Vol. 2: Montana Coach Ashley Herndon
This was a fantastic conversation with former Dukes soccer star Ashley Herndon. She’s now an Assistant Coach for the Griz, but she’s also had an incredible journey since finishing JMU in 2016. From NWSL to a Champions League quarterfinal, she’s done a ton in a short time and is now settled and doing great in Missoula. Plus she has a great story about being outed as a Duke to the football coach right after the last playoff game😂. Plus the boys catch up after some time off.

Lacrosse is the seven seed in the NCAA tourney and hosting at least two rounds starting Friday. Softball is a dangerous underdog in the SBC tourney where they’ll face the conference’s best pitcher from South Alabama. Baseball has been shockingly competitive in the SBC but can they hang in there the last two series and make the postseason? Plus a few lingering questions that have to mentioned around JMU athletics.

Well that was one way to renew hostilities with an old rival, huh? 14 years since the last matchup and these two teams just picked up right where they left off. App loves to talk about how everyone else considers them their rival but they're above it. Wonder how their fans will feel about the trip to Rocktown now? We'd been excited for the Dukes to start playing the Mountaineers again but even we had forgotten that playing a real rival meant you could end up with epic outcomes like this. The boys are bringing in JMU super-alum Steve Buckhantz to break down a brilliant first weekend of Sun Belt play and add some very special old-guy color commentary from the Madison College days to our usual mix. It feels pretty special for the OGs that saw the humble origins of this program to celebrate a season like this.
