Things People Did, with Joel Dommett: Riding cows, being a security guard, and shooting a sex scene with Sienna Miller
This is another episode of 'Things People Did', a new format where we're going to speak to comedians about the jobs they used to do before they became famous! We have a big time guest today who is on more TV shows than he can count... sometimes at the same time, it's Joel Dommett! However, before he found success, he did a stint at virgin megastore as a makeshift security guard, worked in his dad's cheese shop and tried his luck as an actor, where he once had to film a sex scene with Sienna Miller. We also talk about the Masked Singer, I'm A Celeb and put together a bonkers CV for Joel to take home.
We will be recording episodes of Things People Did at The Clapham Grand every month next year, come along and get involved! Ticket's only £15 here: : https://linktr.ee/jmstickets

Come and see us at The Clapham Grand on 16th January for our next live show! Ticket's only £15 here: https://link.dice.fm/C09cda047686
Warning, this episode may make you heave if you're not into disgusting stuff. Amber is a foot health specialist, who spends her days dealing with ingrowing toenails, bunions and verrucas. She also once dealt with some toenails that hadn't been cut in 30 years... As well as the gross stuff, we rate Joe and Tom's feet, and debate how much money Joe could get for pictures of his on OnlyFans. Might as well give it a go?

About Joe Wilkinson: Bouncy castles, toy shops and a lifeguard that can't swim
Come and see us at The Clapham Grand on January 16th for our next live show! Ticket's only £15 here: https://link.dice.fm/C09cda047686
We're live at The Clapham Grand this week, and we've got something exciting up our sleeve. This is the first episode of 'Things People Did', a new format where we're going to speak to comedians and celebrities about the weird and wonderful jobs they used to do before they became famous. The best part is, we're going to be doing this every month live at The Clapham Grand in front of an audience, and you're invited to come and join in! We're kicking things off with a belter... it's Joe Wilkinson! Before he was a comedian, podcaster and actor, it turns out he used to blow up bouncy castles (but never tethered them), he used to work in a calendar factory, a toy shop and as a lifeguard... even though he can't swim. It's bonkers and hilarious in equal measure, as you'd expect.

About Germs: Could a virus wipe out humanity?
Some of the facts you will hear in this episode about germs will likely blow your mind. You may not even understand it all... we're not sure Joe did. But what we can tell you is that there is talk of zombie ants, the amount of bacteria on a nightclub carpet, viruses and if they could wipe out humanity, and a study on Belgian faeces which is quite frankly, ridiculous.

We are at the Clapham Grand next week, come and see our live show! (with Joe Wilkinson): https://link.dice.fm/B708c6703331
What do you do when a patient farts? Do you secretly enjoy inflicting pain? Has anyone ever fallen asleep on the table mid massage? These are some of the questions Joe wanted to ask our guest today, who is a masseuse. Emma has treated thousand of patients over the years including multiple high profile athletes, and our very own Tom Fordyce. She tells us everything we've ever wanted to know about giving massages, and she also shares her incredible story from previously working with Lance Armstrong.

About Whisky: How to become an expert
We're cracking open the Whisky in this episode (literally)... or is it spelled Whiskey? Well apparently that depends where it's made. Turns out we don't no much about whisky, so we brought in an expert to teach us all about it. Joe also drinks some of the samples way too quickly, so this one could go anywhere. Enjoy.

About Cleaners: All the secret hacks you need to sort your house out
What is the cleaning product that sorts out pretty much any stain? Is there an etiquette when snooping through people's wardrobes? Which is undisputedly the best hoover brand? We discuss all these important questions this week with our guest Natalie, who is a professional cleaner. There is also a controversial debate on how to correctly stack a dishwasher, and a very funny story involving some knickers being found in a church.

About Lifeboat Volunteers: Father and daughter saving lives for the RNLI
We have not one, but two guests on the show this week! John and Lily are father and daughter, who both selflessly give up their lives to volunteer for the RNLI. They are constantly on call to answer their pagers (yes, they still exist in 2023), suit up and head out to sea to rescue people on lifeboats... sometimes mid-roast dinner, which comes with its own roast potato related dilemmas. They rescue people from place crashes, sinking yachts and many other dangerous situations. The passion they have for lifeboats is infectious, and the passion John has for crocs footwear is something else entirely...

About Geowizard: The adventurer who crossed Wales in a straight line
Our guest today is a YouTuber who goes by the name Geowizard. His actual name is Tom, and he is very similar to our Tom, except that he is even better at geography, he lives a life of crazy adventures and he is one of the best in the world at the game 'Geoguessr'. He tells us about the time he nearly died in a peat bog, how he got arrested in Scotland during lockdown, and how he has successfully crossed Wales in a straight line on his fourth attempt... yes, that is as bonkers as it sounds. This one will inspire you to get more adventurous, enjoy.

About Mayors: Andy Burnham on Greater Manchester, expensive trains, and 'the' Joy Division
What does a mayor actually do apart from wear medallions and cut ribbons? Well, when we were in Manchester for the tour, we met up with Andy Burnham, the mayor of Greater Manchester, and it turns out he doesn't actually do either of those things. In this episode, we discuss how to make changes in a city, why it costs more to get the train to Manchester from London than to fly, and what Joe would do as the mayor of Heathfield. There is also a lot of music chat, and Joe offends Andy by calling one of Manchesters most iconic bands 'the Joy Division'.

Our guest this week tells us all about what you should and shouldn't include in a CV, how commission actually works, and that you shouldn't do a remote interview from a public toilet cubicle. About Football Hooligans: Stories of violence, racism and gang culture in the eighties
A polite warning that it is quite a gritty episode this week, and there is also some uncomfortable language throughout. This week our guest is Riaz Khan, who is a university lecturer, author, and former football hooligan. He shares his fascinating story of being a member of Leicester's 'Baby Squad throughout the eighties, which includes graphic descriptions of violence, memories of racial abuse he experienced and how fashion played a part in gang culture. We also discuss the glamorisation of football hooliganism in the films, and how Riaz looks back at his time in the firm now.

About Airport Security: What are the strangest items found in passenger's bags?
There are two types of passengers at airport security. Those who come prepared with their liquids in bags, and no strange items in their cabin luggage, and those who don't. Which one is Joe? You can probably guess. He meets his match in today's episode, with our guest Charlotte, who is a manager at Manchester Airport Security! She tells us about the strangest items she has ever found in people's bags, the biggest bug bares when people don't pick up their trays and reason you can't bring a tub of butter on a flight with you. She also takes absolutely none of Joe's attitude, which is always fun.

About Police: Making the force a more neurodiverse place
Our guest today is Marcus, who is a police officer in the Hertfordshire Constabulary. He currently works as a neighbourhood officer, which means his job can vary from discovering drug dens, to listening to people complain about their fences. Marcus also was diagnosed with autism within the last year, and he speaks very openly about how this effects and enhances his role as a policeman, and how he would like to make the police force more near diverse. Joe and Tom also put some tougher questions to him about the recent controversies that have been reported within the Metropolitan Police force. Oh, and Joe manages to handcuff himself of course...

You will hear some chat about how cows have different personalities, a debate about if Joe could outrun a cow, and a fascinating (albeit, slightly graphic) deep dive into how cattle breeding works.
