In this episode in honor of Solomon Northup Day we are joined by Renee Moore -- founder of Solomon Northup Day! We are also joined by Garth Houde from the Anderson Falls Heritage Museum. Lastly, we are featuring the first half of an interview with Kenneth B. Morris Jr., who is the great-great-great-grandson of Frederick Douglass Frederick and the great-great- grandson of Booker T. Washington. Kenneth discusses the great work being done by his families organization: The Frederick Douglass Family Initiatives.

We are joined by historian and artist Dr. Nell Painter who among other things discusses her roots in Texas where events leading to Juneteenth took place. We are also joined by Dr. Dexter Criss, director of the Lake Champlain Mass Choir who is performing a Gospel Brunch in Burlington, Vermont on June 19th. In our Adirondack moment we chat with local entrepreneur Showayne Telfer, proprietor of Island Vybz store and restaurant in downtown Plattsburgh.

Hosts Bobbi Perez and John Mitchell are joined by fellow museum board members: Robin Caudell, Jackie Madison and Andrea Baer for a lively discussion with Genealogist Amy Chin who shares insights she learned about the immigration of Chinese citizens to the U.S while researching the story of her Grandfather. We also spend time with ADK Action's Communication Coordinator Kristina Hartzell who discusses some of the important work being carried out by her organization.
