In this episode, Natalie describes her process around ideas and all the things she wants to do. She doesn't get overwhelmed, wow, so it's extremely insightful to hear her process and how she does the things.
Of course, we also talk about the 'syndromes', from Imposter to the fear of not being relevant in the design world. How do art and lettering fit into it? Very, very interesting!
There are so many more cool things we mention in this episode; it was so amazing!
Her quote is also really cool:
"A mind stretched by new experiences can never go back to its old dimensions."

From the Outback in Australia, the wonderful Mixed Media Fine Artist & Creative Coach Tara Leslie is joining this episode of 'Joke's Joyful Journey'.
Tara has been creative her whole life, she could draw before she could write, and in her professional career she has dipped her toes in many ponds; from being trained as a Graphic Designer to doing color correcting.
Now she is building her business as a Mixed Media Artist and Creative Coach, helping others to creative unblock and how to create every day.
Tara is such a gentle and creative person and the insights and experiences she shares are just marvellous.
We touch on so many things; what it's like to build a creative business, being a multipotentialite and having an ADHD brain, how to not burn and wear yourself out, FOMO, systems, what to do with all of your ideas, listening to your gut, Shiny Object and Project Syndrome, (not) finishing things and so much more.
Tara draws several insightful comparisons to help with perspective and learning how to trust yourself, trust the process and build your skills.

27. Rosanna Palumbo 💃🏻 Love Letter Studio
Meeting my talented course buddy and friend, Rosanna Palumbo, from Love Letter Studio, has been so much fun.
In our chat, we deep dive into the world of lettering, calligraphy, Procreate, the iPad and our nemesis, vectorization.
Rosanna embodies multipotentialism and she loves shiny objects. She talks about her experiences from working in the dental department, working on ceramic teeth to being a mom and a teacher. Thanks to a dear friend of hers, she got back into the lettering game and has been hooked ever since.
We talk about being course collectors (check out her 'course management' system!) and eager to start new things, as well as what it's like to be self-critical and how we spend useless time worrying.
As she wanted to follow her own progress, she set up her Instagram account, @Loveletterstudio, where she showcases her fantastic work.
I love the advice Rosanna is giving in this episode and though challenging, her quote is great to take up: "Live in the moment".

25. Liane Barker 🖌️ Signwriter
My next guest has been 40 years in the signwriting biz and she is a fantastic person and friend: Liane Barker from Brush and Pen Studio and Barker Signs.
We talk about so many things; we go from how she started her apprenticeship with her dad, and what it has been like to be a female signwriter to the wonderful world of technology.
Shiny objects and Imposter Syndromes pop by and we think back to the time when there was no internet. Hello, Instagram trap! Liane has juggled it all: motherhood, an ex-husband, work, and the global financial crisis in 2006/2007.
Liane paved the way and is still doing it! Her motto and quote is: "You grow your wings as you fall." It says it all.

What does it mean to be a Multipotentialite? Do you have to know everything about multiple subjects? Or wanting to do so many things and feeling like "what is wrong with me?" and how do you concentrate and focus? Analysis paralysis, 'Netflixing it away' LOL and also: not every idea has to be executed. Anna and I talk all about it. We also cover things like outsourcing, feeling rushed and the wonders of the creative community.
Her quote is a really cool one:
"Every master was once a distaster" - T. Harv Eker. Make sure to tag us and show us your calligraphy and lettering creations!

One of the best things that I’ve discovered in the last few years, is the TED Talk by Emilie Wapnick. For this podcast, I’ve referenced this video as well as a Wikipedia article. All the guests have received these links before the interview and it has been a treat to see that it has sparked some recognition!
Enjoy the talks; these brilliant people share some golden tips, tricks and wonderfulness. At the end of every episode, each guest has a quote they like to share. Use this quote in a creative way and share it with us. We’d love to see your creations. Make sure to give all the guests a follow. Have fun!
