DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNN!! We have reached #1 on my Holiday Reading List! Ha!  and we circled right back to DC!! I picked Dark Knights of Steel because it is so UNLIKE everything I have read from DC until now. The storytelling is PHENOMENAL and, in the Legacy of FUTURE STATE, really sets the tone of WHAT COULD BE for all of your favorite DC Characters The watercolor art is BREATHTAKING and the paneling really flows with the tense medieval backdrop we are adventuring through The TWIST and TURNS in these three issues made it a total SOLD OUT copy when Issue 3 was released at my LCS!!  I have NEVER walked in and been told ALL of a DC series was sold out.  Wow.  That speaks volumes for how great this story is already. The finish line is sooooooooooo Close!! I went a little long-winded on the intro but it's so important to me to share good energy and encouragement!  I don't mind if you FF straight to the review tho!  LOL!! It was a Super Tight Race BUT............ #2 on My Christmas Reading List TALES OF MOTHER F. GOOSE Whoa!  Aftershock really put some work into literally DESTROYING our childhood nursery rhyme memories!! HAHAH!! But in a totally Good and Badass kinda way!! After you read this interweaving tale of MOBSTERS & MAYHEM you will NEVER think of the Three Blind Mice or the Three Little Pigs the same way EVER again! But I had sooo much fun reading this action crime drama, especially the noire-detective feel and the Pulp-fiction style writing and dialogue.  Art is okay, nice watercoloring, but definitely matches the overall Tone and Surreal energy of this BRILLIANTLY executed retelling of all our favorite kindergarten stories Definitely want MORE of THIS!!!  and this One-Shot by Aftershock Comics is absolutely an issue that can be re-read a few times and enjoyed every single time!! If you are like me, you may have tried and then decided, um, hm, maybe skip and come back in a few issues There is definitely something intriguing about the premise of this American Gothic style series.  It mixes elements of horror, myster, with a splash of No Country for Old Men but still can't quite keep me linked into every issue HOWEVER, this Holiday One-Shot was the Perfect centerpiece to this series Although it is a standalone, you can tell that it adds some elements of the regular on-going series plot But, it can definitely be enjoyed without having read anyother previous issues. This GHOST STORY will make Scrooge quiver with fear! Best read with as few spoilers as possible, but it was definitely a nod to classic haunted tales with a sinister ending! GOBBLE GOBBLE!!  Hope your TURKEY DAY was Fantastic! Monday Funday is rounding out so let's get back to some COMIC MAYHEM!  Depending on which issue you read from this LIMITED SERIES by AfterShock Comics, you may or may not have enjoyed BEYOND THE BREACH The series was one of three that I read this year regarding mysterious rifts opening between our world and that which lay beyond the mysterious veil leading to the void.   The story never really locked on to a consistent tone, and from issue to issue, we moved from Horror to Comedy to Space Adventure to Action Scifi and back again several times during the short five issue run - and yes, there is a space bounty hunter who is dressed like a futuristic Elvis! As for art, although it does match the action well, you can't quite say it is the most visually stunning panels or layout you have ever seen. But, for some reason, most likely due to the likability of the main characters, you want to see the story through to the finale.  I give the writers credit, they don't stretch the series out longer than necessary.  We are given exactly what we need for a quick run through the most bizarre, and somewhat humorous at times, alien invasion of the year Honest answer, I really did enjoy this random run through the countryside, fighting space invaders from the back of giant turtoise with a cute talking kaola bear-like animal while saving a little kid from being eaten by giant beetle-things.  It was fun, pure and simple, and sometimes those are the best stories. Hey guys!! Happy MONDAY FUNDAY!! This ONE-SHOT issue is the third element of the LIMITED SERIES Darkhold! As we all know, Doctor Doom will someday kill the universe, and this just might be the last sunrise for Earth Realm!! After reading from a FORBIDDEN ANCIENT TEXT, Doctor Victor Von Doom mistakenly (or purposefully??) summons a dark elder god who is about unleash hell on Earth at any moment! Who can save us all?  The Avengers of Course!! Or...... maybe not this time.  The Scarlett Witch, who is all too familiar with the dark universe, gathers a team composed of members from the various leagues of superheroes.. Spiderman, Wasp, Black Bolt, Iron Man, and BLADE to become the ULTIMATE CHAMPIONS to squareoff agains the gathering darkness! One problem, they must first come face-to-face with their own inner fears and demons! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND the BLADE installment of this series!  It has all the ingredients of a PERFECT ISSUE and sets up the possibilities of WHAT COULD BE in a world RULED BY THE DAYWALKER  if only they continued this storyline! The outer plot is standard - blood god turns everyone either human or vamp, no matter if you have superpowers or mutant abilities before, you will be assigned to only one of two species from here on out! The LAST AVENGERS - including CITIZEN V - are on their way to finally takedown the VAMPIRE KING OF NY - Mayor Fisk!  Only one blockade stands in their way - BLADE and his sudden BLOODLUST for both human and vampire alike!! Has be fully turned to the monster he always FEARED he would become?? WOW!!  Nearly perfect paneling, filled with RICH COLOR BLENDS, plenty of action scenes, and even some LAUGHS made this one of the BEST HORROR ACTION comics I have read in quite some time!! And the REVEAL of WHO Citizen V was a shocker!! Definitely hope they revisit this ALTERNATE UNIVERSE!!  It was the TRIFECTA of comic book awesomeness!!! First, THANK YOU SO MUCH, to everyone who supports this little channel!  It is VERY MUCH APPRECIATED!!  I enjoy chatting with you all, and read all of your comments and recommends!  Please follow on Instagram also, so we can interact more about all of our comic book adventures! Back to the COMICS!! Second, A CALLOUT - this is a VALIANT COMIC!! - By the time I realized that I had added Aftershock, everything was post-production and uploaded already.. Please excuse my editing error haha! WOW! This PREMIERE ISSUE by Valiant packs in ALOT!! Our hero - or is he the villain? - awakes with his MEMORY WIPED CLEAN, except for one fact - he is almost INFINITELY POWERFUL! But why is everyone in the crowd watching him with FEAR IN THEIR EYES?  Why have the POLICE and a MYSTERIOUS GROUP of Psionic Beings surrounded him and tried to wipe his presence from the face of the earth AGAIN? And who is this mystery narrator who is seething with both ENVY and DISDAIN for our unknown dark hero? I think the creators of this comic wanted to ensure that we the readers show up for Issue 2!  They build an entire world, as well as an expansive mythos, in a matter of pages.   Several factions of warring and rival psionic groups and characters, and their bloody history with each other, are quickly introduced and detailed.  Then the action explodes -  literally -  from the first page, and the story rarely pauses to make sure that the reader is caught up with everything happening.   It's a very dizzying experience!  But if you love non-stop panels filled with plot that keeps pushing all the way through the last frame, then THE HARBINGER is for you! Bright, vibrant coloring adds to the speed of the mile-a-minute thrills that we run through with the characters and the last page definitely leaves us wondering, What TF just happened - but in a good way! - LOL I'm fairly sure Issue 2 will slow the pace down a bit, so we can sort out who everyone is and what their place in the story will be but, until then, you will probably have to read this issue at least TWICE to begin trying to piece that puzzle together yourself Overall, I think this series is going to be a long-lasting winner, it just needs to gather a loyal audience to help keep this series going to press every month  Stay tuned! #comicbooks #indiecomics #newcomicbooks

Strap on yer Riding Boots!  Because this is gonna be a fun and wild adventure!! I totally admit that I am a newbie when it comes to the adventures of Spawn and his supernatural allies and enemies, HOWEVER, I absolutely love cowboy themed stories.. especially GUNSLINGER tales!  So I knew I had to have this PREMIERE ISSUE!! I didn't even realize I chose the FOLD-OUT COVER, but I was so THRILLED when I saw his cape flapping in the HOT DESERT WINDS on the front!! Honest Opinion: This is a great story!  Whether you are a Spawn Universe veteran or a new recruit, you will absolutely enjoy this intro chapter Angels and Demons everywhere!  Lots of BLAM! BLAM! hot pursuit moments, and art that really animates the action all the way through Reader notes: This is a QUARTET of vignettes, so you are getting both the main central plot (which I believe is going to be ongoing) as well as three additional shorter stories with GUNSLINGER SPAWN as the primary character throughout I liked this issue so much that I am actually inspired to go back and read Spawn's Universe 1 to find out the origins of the Gunslinger and how he ended up in future Earth realm!! Monday Funday has arrived!  One of my ALL-TIME favorite movies is THE USUAL SUSPECTS! which is probably why I had SO MUCH FUN reading this new title by AFTERSHOCK COMICS!  This tale of murdery, mystery, and mayhem really reminded me o that cult classic is so many ways.  Unlikely allies on a mission that concludes in only one of two ways - death or salvation Is it true that even the worst person has a spot of good in them?  Do villains deserve a chance at REDEMPTION or should they spend the rest of ETERNITY chasing a Heaven that will never be awarded to them? This is the central premise of THE HEATHENS, where a group of history's MOST NOTORIOUS ANTI-HEROES are summoned from PURGATORY and given ONE LAST SHOT at reaching the peace of the after-life -- OR SO THEY THINK! A breach of SPACE/TIME has opened, allowing some of the MOST EVIL SERIAL KILLERS the world has ever known to recreate their horrible acts again and again as they roam the shadows of today's world. If they can retrieve the real-life monsters and send them back to hell, they may finally be set free to rest in peace OR could this all be part of their unyielding punishment instead?  To chase monsters from here to eternity in a vicious loop? I really enjoyed this vibrant art and panels of this premiere issue.  And the feisty dialogue between the main characters made this a fun story to enjoy over a lunchtime cup of coffee! POW!!!💥💥💥💥 This new BATMAN series packs more than a Punch!! Full video Link in Bio 😬 This newest edition to the Dark Knight Universe sets up a brutal noire world of violence and shadows, where all the players are trapped in a cloak of constant trauma and brutality The issue reads like an episode of Law & Order (the good ones from wayyy back), where there is an ultra thin line separating crime and punishment The Batman, aka Bruce Wayan, lies bleeding to death on his former therapists balcony.  She nurses him back to health with one stipulation, he must report to her every morning at dawn to unload the darkness from his bruised mind or she will call the police and reveal his true identity Elsewhere, an observant Gotham City police detective investigating the deaths of a group of seemingly unrelated yet psychotic former inmates, who were released on a technicality.  Bound and pushed from atop a building, all evidence points only to The Batman.  But who is this vigilante?  All her theories are flowing around the network of gadgets hidden around the city, and where there is newwave tech, there is also a funnel of deep pockets funding it.  Fantastic watercolors, overlapping panels, and inverse imagery really illustrate the constant barage of savagery and inescapable pyschosis that haunt the citizens of this dark world! Definitely recommended for hardcord Batman / Dark Knight fans, and seems to be set-up as a soft prequel to the upcoming The Batman feature film Did you enjoy this one too?  Let me know!! The new Dune is finally here but I'm not 100% satisfied with the new version 👀😬 WATCH THIS ON YOUTUBE https://youtu.be/iCZ6BVj4sBI Here's the stats: Pryme: Never read the book, only remembers pieces of the 80s version.  Biggest takeaway from the 2021 relaunch is how COOL THE NINJA SUITS look Q: Read the book at least 2.5x.  Watched every revision of the 80s version, including the ultimate 4hr director's super expanded super remastered with all the voiceover and princess-powered narration Overall, yes, this is a VISUALLY STUNNING and ethnically diverse vision of the DUNE UNIVERSE that most accurately depicts the DYNAMIC chess-piece power plays and desert-born culture and people pinned at the center of this definitive space opera But, I think it lacks a certain sense of claustrophobia and urgency that defined the action and tension of the 80s version However, I am biased in my opinion.  The 80s Dune was probably the VERY FIRST scifi film that I actually sat and watched from beginning to closing credits.  It brings a certain sense of nostalgia and excitement that was not present for me during this relaunch.   I do, however, hope others enjoyed this film and that is brings a whole new audience into the awe and climatic showdown that swirls within the KNOWN UNIVERSE and it's centerpiece, Arrakis. Hey guys!! I am back!  I am caffeinated! And I have a cute pumpkin on my desk!  oh yea, and I do an acapella in the first 30 seconds!! Ha! A GREAT COMBO for chatting about GREAT COMICS!!  Honest Review! I arrived for the AMAZING COVER but stayed for THE FUN TIME!! There is nothing new in this comic that you haven't read before, BUT somehow the writers and artists manage to create a plot with just enough action, accompanied by fantastic still frames of this gorgeous woman, to make GUN HONEY a fun comic to tune out the dull day. Definitely a great read for a Tuesday evening that is in need of some spice or when you just need something exciting to prop up your work day lunch break There was no hard case to be solved in this premiere issue, but it was a good setup into whatever adventure our lovely leading lady is about to fall into I honestly think I am going to drop into Issue 2 to see what happens next.. she's literally trapped in a closed room with killers...  Stay tuned! Welcome back guys!!! I had NO IDEA that this issue was going to sell out so quickly!! I arrived just before the buzzer!! There were literally just two copies of the original cover and that's it!! ------------ If you've ever read a detective novel or even an old mystery movie, THE DEATH OF DOCTOR STRANGE is very much channeling that kind of setup, pacing, and plot structure.. This is very much a WHODUNNIT and, surprisingly, it works out very well for this first chapter of the story, which splits out into at least three acts........... The narrative is very simple and straightforward, yet intriguing because we get a quick character analysis of the Dr Strange who was and the Dr Strange who is.. meaning, we get a quick snapshot of how an arrogant surgeon with a god-complex turned into a mighty NOBLE SUPERHERO who literally fights against gods. But nothing is as it seems, because every small battle that Dr Stephen Strange fights on an average NYC day is actually a small clue to a much larger, darker plot looming in the background... the void is stirring and the heralds of its presence are starting to wreak havoc and mayhem in the human realm of Earth And then, of course, we return to the murder mystery........The unexpected knock at Dr. Strange's door, the arrival of an unseen visitor whom the doctor knows but is not excited to see, and then the final words of our beloved hero as he is pinned against a wall and breathing his last human air............... ...........the friends and mourners arrive at the residence, but so do the suspects....... and, in the background, still the presence of a dark energy quickly descending upon the unprotected realm of Earth........... Wow.. yea, great twists and turns, hints of suspense and splashes of well-illustrated action made this a fun and exciting read. BUT, it's also a crossover event that won't sum up until January 2022!!! Here's some of the other series that will feature side issues for this event: STRANGE ACADEMY SPIDER-MAN WHITE FOX BLADE XMEN / BLACK KNIGHT AVENGERS Are you excited for this new event?  Or do you prefer them to keep it in just one series?  Let me know!  Personally, I'm no longer a great fan of Marvel events.. they seem to do so much better with well-written limited series, at least  nowadays. You know, the Will Smith Independence Day kind We're introduced to several characters, whom I'm assuming will play key roles later. Each is in playing out an emotional charged scene.. domestic abuse, a wedding, broken marriage etc, which helps us to quickly empathize with the characters. This is a genius move by the writers, because by the time the blood starts flying, we're already emotionally invested in their stories and how each is going to play out in the wake of such horrific events Btw.. the panel in the video is exactly how the issue closes Definitely picking up Issue 2 😬 💥 New FULL NEW COMIC BOOK REVIEW on MONDAY 😄 Stay tuned 👀 #comicbooks #horrorcomics #horrorcomicbooks

THIS IS IT!  The LAST DAY ON EARTH!  Leave now or perish under the perils of an IMPENDING GLOBAL WARMING apocalypse........... Maybe. Some say YES, ABANDON THE PLANET NOW!  Others say, it's all a hoax... Who is right and who is wrong is yet to be determined. What is fact?   TWO ARCS have already LEFT EARTH to start a NEW LIFE on another planet. ONE ARC is launching is LESS THAN 24 HOURS. Cons: The world virus backdrop is becoming a bit fatigued, especially now, BUT Pros: It is only a plot point, and not the main idea of what is going on.  The dialogue is REAL.  The characters feel like their actions and reactions are quite possibly what anyone in their positions would do HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for Readers who love a great book but just don't have the time for a 300 page novel (like me!) Wow guys! If you have been following along with this MAD MAX DYSTOPIAN-style comic you will already know how AWESOME this FINALE to Volume One is! In the not too distant future, in the wastelands of Nevada, on the outskirts of Las Vegas, is the GLOWING MAN!! Geiger, survivor of the UNNAMED WAR, with the power to LITERALLY GO NUCLEAR, wanders the desert protecting the bomb shelter housing his family UNTIL two children, on the run from a POST-APOCALYPTIC PSYCHOPATH, enter his life and eventually his heart... This new horror comic from @thevaultcomics wasn't exactly what I was expecting I was anticipating Tales From the Darkside (throwback tv horror anthology) but what showed up was an episode of The Twilight Zone 💥 It's a story within a story (within a story, I think, because we the readers seem to be somehow part of the story since we're reading it.. you know, like The Never Ending Story and we're Bastian. I know, it's kinda confusing 😂) A young woman, who's supposed to be returning college, can't leave her extreme middle American town of Wild Turkey (whatever you're thinking about the people who live there, the answer is yes) Her father has suddenly fallen ill with a mysterious ailment. We don't see him and have no idea what sickness until the very end. And for good reason. Telling us too soon would have given away the obvious main plot point. While the young woman interacts with her stereotypical rural neighbors and customers at the grocery shop she runs for her dad, she is both narrating a sociology textbook she's reading (to us) and also watching an obscure and unknown scifi movie (with us) from a DVD rental machine filled with mysteriously unheard of movies her father bought for the store right before he became sick. I hope you know where I'm going with this. Life begins to imitate art (or books and movies) in this randomly paced, morally ambiguous story, with a very unsurprising close to the first issue 💥 Cons : Storyline is not really original. And no where near a horror Pros : I loved the play on words... hint, Redbox 😂. And I'm honestly curious to see how they pick up on issue 2. Same characters with an extended story in the story, or brand new? Overall: Give it a try. Hey guys!! We waited almost a full year and now THE WAIT IS OVER! Marvel's DARK AGES has ARRIVED! HEROES WILL RISE. HEROES WILL FALL. AND YOU WILL FEEL EVERY MOMENT OF IT. If anyone remembers last year's Free Comic Book Day Issue from Marvel, they will recall that this story was given a BRIEF BUT DRAMATIC preview See ORIGINAL POST FROM AUGUST 2020 HERE : https://www.instagram.com/p/CDvCSdJhdj2/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link Basically, the WORLD WAS ENDING, and very terribly at that!  It was VERY DARK moment for the people of Earth and for some OUR FAVORITE HEROES, including IRON MAN who literally falls from the sky legless!! I think, all things considered, during that moment in REAL EARTH HISTORY, the creative and editorial teams at Marvel probably decided against releasing such a disheartening story...  So they waited, and waited, and waited for a better real-life world mood before releasing this, and I cannot blame them one bit It appears they also recrafted the story, with some character and tone changes To start, in this version it is Spiderman not Iron Man, who is the LEADOFF HEROE.  Also, although the world is DEFINITELY ending in this story, or at least ending as we know it, the overall mood is not as SEVERELY APOCALYPTIC as the previous version hinted to be Cons: Very few.  The pace is swift, but this does not distract from the overall awesomeness of the plot Pros: Genuine character building is present at all times.  Something that has been missing in Marvel, as of recently Overall:  This is a GREAT ISSUE!  One of the best and most complete issues I have read from Marvel since almost last summer.  The story development and character reactions are genuine, heart-pounding, and can be really felt by the reader DON'T FORGET TO TURN ON NOTIFICATIONS LIKE COMMENT SUBSCRIBE SHARE!! First ever comic I've read by this publisher. I must say, I'm impressed. Spotted this title as a recommendation on Google books then spotted it again as part of a preview issue from AWA's Free Comic Book Day submission No such thing as a coincidence, so I knew I had to at least glance at this title. After a few pages, I knew I had to buy it and finish out this anecdote on social norms The writer took a metaphor and extended the shit out of it, and I loved every wordplay he tapped at Wow, is all I can say, after just finishing issue one a few minutes ago As you can see by the robot stand-in's for the AMERICAN GOTHIC portrait, some dark and sensitive social commentary is explored in this premiere issue At first I thought my imagination was just filling in what I thought was being hinted at, but then I suddenly decided to read the closing essay by the writer (something I only do if I'm REALLY intrigued by the story) and he confirmed, explicitly, the exact moral he was attempting to demonstrate 💥 Cons : Almost none, except that I would love to vlog on this but am hesitant as this is a highly controversial topic Pros: The writer and artist bring a touchy subject to a more digestible scale. Hey guys! I do my best to provide Honest Reviews for everything that I read and comment on I'm one of those people who tries to give good marks, and if I can't, will usually let that title slip out of my chats But, I do think it's important for me to begin sharing constructive critiques on some titles that I may have been initially excited for but was ultimately not thrilled about I will most likely post those in podcast only format, so I can have more time to explain my view more thoroughly than the 30 seconds IG or YT allows Hope you will tune in for these reviews also! Jumping back to Echolands, a High Fantasy, comic that premiered a few short weeks ago from Image Comics Cons:  Not thrilled about the dimensions of the comic.  It is the shape of an oversized flip-book, which does help to layout the imagery better than a standard letter-sized comic, but doesn't feel comfy in the hands while reading Yes, Worldbuilding is hard, but I have absolutely no idea what world this character is in.  It could easily be a surreal dystopia or a really tripped-out dream. I don't think the writer established the setting clearly enough Pros:  The pseudo-newsletter, complete with fake ads, at the end of the issue was cool, and also the interview between the Reporter and the Wizard who rules over the land that Red Hood lives in The writer provides the extensive playlist of the songs he listened to and vibed on while creating this first chapter Overall: While I cannot say I enjoyed this premiere issue, I do encourage others to read it and give it a try.  You may like the landscape layout of the comic much more than I did and you may find the dropped in some random Wonderland tone much more pleasing to the imagination. #comics #comicbooks #echolands #imagecomics #imagecomicbooks #scificomics #fantasycomics #scificomicbooks #fantastycomicbooks #art #illustration #drawing #echolands #echolandscomic #echolandscomicbook

Digging through the digital crates and found this masterpiece Imagine a reality where one ADULT encounter can suddenly lead to you becoming the most physically perfect version of yourself Enter the world of The Beauty. It's a disease that most people want, at almost any cost, and half the human population has (whether they voluntarily became infected or by mere happenstance on a drunken night) Clear skin, full hair, trim body with a metabolism that devours all fat on sight You will be perfect. Physically, at least The only problem? You will internally combust in two years. This is the secret powerful government entities, profit-seeking mega pharm companies, and psychopathically deranged mercenaries will go to ANY lengths to keep, at least until the life-extending pill is ready for market. By then, after hundreds of thousands of people around the globe begin to die, everyone infected with THE BEAUTY will be begging for it Is there a real cure? Of course. There always is. Two street-smart detectives and a group of scientists vigilantes have it, find themselves continually on the wrong side of automatic weapons Wow. Yea. Fast-pace but great plotting out of the narrative. Gore but only enough for the shuddering effect of what it's like to live in a real world where people are absolutely willing to risk their lives to either become one with physical perfection or fight the system that's deceiving the world Pros: High-octain thriller. A+ Cons: Volume one concludes on a mega potentially world shaking cliffhanger. Did I mention that THE CURE has to devastate the bodies of those who have The Beauty? Also, volume two does nothing to add to the thriller established in volume one. Heya!!!! There are soooo many comic books to read!  And I am on a quest to swim through as many as possible!!  Let the TAKEOVER continue!! In this video:   True Horror Fans, this new ongoing comic series is for you!  Gore galore on almost every page! Fans of the great director and maestro of scifi horror classics such as THEY LIVE and THING, JOHN CARPENTER, will also find themselves strangely drawn to this tale of a book that LITERALLY DRIVES PEOPLE MAD! Sound familiar?  If you ever watched Carpenter's 90's cult flick IN THE MOUTH OF MADNESS, you basically already know the plot to this series by VAULT COMICS Pros: An entertaining and quickly paced storyline.  Artwork is gimmicky and surreal, which truly fits the quirky, slightly manic tone of the story Cons: Unoriginal storyline.  Neither the plot, setting, nor characters are uniquely created or explored Overall, this makes a fun read on a rainy night!!  Probably won't need to grab every issue, maybe just check in now and again to keep yourself up to speed.  I can't imagine this series going past 5 issues, maybeeeeeee 12, if they get extra creative with the content... but who knows! This was a FANTASTIC Horror series with notes of noire detective fiction alongside a thrilling mystery. ONLY 6 ISSUES!! Whyyyy?? Most likely due to the timing of this VAULT COMICS release early last year, when distribution and purchasing were all cramped up or shutdown. BUT, this is a guaranteed enjoyable read for anyone who loved the ORIGINAL BLADE movie and is a fan of tense action and AMAZING comic book interior artwork! The reveal won't be shocking but the pace leading up to and even beyond that moment will keep you binge-reading this all too short series from start to finish! There's so much more possible plot and potential storylines here to explore... Definitely hoping this reaches the publishers and writers so that can continue this high-octane story! Spoilers!! 💥 Guess I shoulda said that in the title! 💥 Although this series has been less than THRILLING.. it has delivered some bomb-droppers - LITERALLY - and this issue had one of the biggest thus far! Way back in Issue 1, we see the re-born Cotati avatar of the long-deceased and former AVENGER - SWORDSMAN - walking off with Jennifer - aka SHE-HULK aka THE HULK - to get a weapon for the upcoming battle with the KREE/SKRULL united ARMADA...   💥 She returns CHANGED somehow, and THOR is the first to notice that something isn't quite right with the Hulk... 💥 ...FLASHFORWARD to the post- BATTLE OF WAKANDA aftermath - a much-hyped battle that we, the loyal readers, are not going to see much of since MARVEL COMICS cut back on the title releases for this storyline.. MANTIS is trying to talk her half-human / half-Cotati son with the Swordsman - QUOI, the much anticipated COSMIC MESSIAH and leader of the war against all flesh-born creatures in the universe - out of becoming a merciless killer! 💥 While Mantis is attempting to convince her son that his father, the Swordsman has lost his way and IS NOT the man she fell in love with long ago, a SUDDEN REVEAL is made! 💥 She-Hulk turns herself INSIDE OUT and confesses that she was actually a COTATI SPY all along!  And that the REAL HULK was ambushed by Swordsman and Cotati Magicians, where she was killed and replaced by a BODY-SNATCHER through dark rituals!! 💥 Wow.. I totally missed Marvel Comic Universe's EPIC multi-verse adventure WAR OF THE REALMS last summer, so I was determined NOT to miss out what was supposed to be this summer's Galaxy-spanning quest  - EMPYRE - but, eh, IMHO, this newest crossover has mostly fallen flat.. ⭐ WHY am I so disappointed with this series? ⭐ Mainly for two reasons..  ⭐ MOST of the  main action takes place above or near EARTH and has rarely moved further than that..  ⭐ Marvel Comics has cut a nice chunk of support issues that would have introduced new side arcs, storylines, and characters.. so ALOT of action that was promised and referenced in the main titles is just not going to happen in this run - UNLESS, if rumors are true, they will eventually release all of the nipped side titles at some later date (all at once) to try to fill in the many blanks running through this storyline.. ⭐ Many of the main and support titles that were kept seem as if they were done so more for NAME-DROP reasons rather than titles that may have offered much more creative and diverse content .. For example,  Empyre: Captain America, Issue 1 (spoiler) is about a very small, seemingly insignificant battle near the pentagon.. it's more of a filler that eludes to the fact that the COTATI are trying to infiltrate the government via the BODY-SNATCHER method (mmkk... that's been done in so many other mediums that it was truly underwhelming to see presented here again..) ⭐ THE BATTLE OF WAKANDA (via the canceled INVASION OF WAKANDA) is not going to be presented in the grand fashion is should be given.. such a shame, because almost EVERY issue that has been released thus far keeps hinting that some MAJOR ACTION was supposed to take place at the battlefront .. Avengers. Issue 34.  Picking up right where we left off last time..  ..MOON KNIGHT has savagely confiscated all the magical relics of the 1mil BC Avengers from the current Avengers and friends..  After being led into this quest to save the world from eventual hellfire from another dimension by moon god of ancient Egypt, KHONSHU, Moon Knight arrives at the Hotel Inferno in Las Vegas to assassinate none other than MEPHISTO ( TIE-IN to Conan : Quest for the Serpent Crown!!)  But even Moon Knight was no match for the scheming of Khonshu.. Once Mephisto is cut down, the true age of terror begins when the moon god invades NYC (NEW THEBES) and demands that all people bow before him!  The priests of Khonshu vainly attempt to terrorize a chained BLACK PANTHER (BIG surprise for them at the end!!) while mummies attempt to huntdown the reborn STARBRAND who is under the protection of IRON MAN and CAPTAIN MARVEL ..
