Episode 29: Nine results of a righteous person
In Psalm 1:1-3, David tells us nine results of a righteous person. The righteous person does not seek counsel from the wicked or ungodly, he does not walk in the path of sinner, and he does not sit in the seat of the scornful. Instead, his delight is in the law of the Lord and he meditates on it day and night. He is like a tree planted near rivers of water that brings forth fruit and his leaf does not wither. As a result, the righteous person is blessed, or truly happy.

Rituals are not a Requirement for Salvation
As the gospel message began to spread to the Gentile world, some Judeans began to preach that the Gentiles must go through the ritual of circumcision, as required in the law of Moses, for them to be truly saved. We then see a debate arise within church as to whether or not this ritual was required for salvation. Paul brings the debate to the Jerusalem Council where Peter addresses the Council and gives four reasons what rituals have NO part in salvation. Salvation is only by grace through faith in Jesus' death and resurrection. If we try to add requirements to salvation, it ceases to be a free gift, as God intended. Adding rituals to the requirements for salvation makes salvation based on what I do, not on what Christ did for us.
