John 9 gives us the answer to the question: Why does God allow suffering? Allow your heart to be calmed and to rest in the hope that there is something beyond this life that brings purpose to our suffering.

Philippians 4, Romans 5, the book of Job - all help to instruct us in how we should respond to the unexpected and unplanned, to pain and suffering and difficulties in life.

Ponder with me what we mean by the term “normal” and how it points us to God.

Almost every book of the Bible speaks about bearing fruit. Fruitfulness is often associated with righteousness. John 15 is one example of God’s instructions to us to bear fruit. In order to bear fruit, we need to learn to abide in Him, to continually live in His love. The result is joy that is FULL! With references to Nehemiah and other examples from Scripture, I hope this podcast will encourage you and strengthen your faith!

The shoes we choose to wear can slow us down or help us, make a good impression or a bad one. What does it mean to have our feet fitted with the readiness of the gospel of peace? Let’s take a minute to consider what it means to put on the full armor of God, to be ready to respond to the evil of the world with the Good News of the peace we have in Christ!

Our natural tendency is to use the way we are smart to glorify ourselves, but we can consider instead how our smarts can bring glory to God.

We can recognize that God is the giver of all good things and accept what He gives with gratefulness.

I recently discovered how I need to learn to connect my natural word smart and logic smart abilities to my heart in order to hide God’s Word in my heart. Listen as I describe my experience and learned from my daughter and what God has taught her. This is part one of three on this topic.

We are created to worship always, no matter our circumstances. Consider the words to “I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day,” the words of David in Psalm 22, and the words of Jesus in Matthew 26. Worship Christ Who is the spotless lamb of God, Who willingly gave Himself in obedience even to the point of death on a cross to take the penalty for our sin. He is worthy. “By His wounds we are healed.”(Isaiah 53:5) Make a decision to praise Him this Christmas!

Communication is important, and the way we interact and relate to others and use our words is important. Winston Churchill and his wife are examples of how we can use words to either build up or tear down, to encourage or discourage, to unite or divide…

Hallelujah!! The Rider on the white horse, the thousand years, Satan’s doom, the dead are judged, the New Jerusalem, the river of life, Jesus is coming!!

The woman and the dragon, the beast out of the sea, the beast out of the earth, The Lamb and the 144,000, the three angels, the harvest of the earth, seven angels with seven plagues, seven bowls of God’s wrath, the woman on the beast, the fall of Babylon.

The seals, 144,000 sealed, the great multitude in white robes, the seventh seal, the trumpets, the angel and the little scroll, the two witnesses, the seventh trumpet.

To the churches in Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea, the throne in heaven, the scroll and The Lamb. Amazing!!

John instructs about welcoming missionaries and discerning heresy and false teaching.

The Word of life, walking in the light, do not love the world, warning against antichrists, children of God, love one another, test the spirits, God is love, faith in Christ.

Calling and election, prophecy of Scripture, false teachers, The Day of The Lord, the doom of godless men, a call to persevere.

Paul’s letter to Timothy requesting him to come and instructing him in how to care for the church.

Examples of faith, Christ’s example.

Christ offers himself as the unblemished sacrifice to atone for sins once for all!

Christ is superior to the angels, to Moses, to the priests, Sabbath rest, Jesus the Great High Priest.

Peter’s instructions for Godly living, including how to respond in suffering and persecution.

Paul’s instructions to Titus as he ministered on the island of Crete, including teaching to varous groups and to be engaged in doing what is good.

Paul’s instructions to Timothy as Timothy cared for the church in Ephesus.

Thanksgiving, prayer, Paul’s chains advance the Gospel, imitating Christ’s humility, receiving Timothy and Epaphroditus, no confidence in the flesh, press on toward the goal, exhortation and thanks.

Blessings in Christ, made alive in Christ, being one in Christ, being children of light, instruction to wives and husbands and children and fathers and slaves, putting on the full armor of God.

The supremacy of Christ, Paul’s labor for the church, freedom from human regulations, rules for holy living, rules for Christian households, Paul’s plea for Onesimus.

Paul sails for Rome, the storm, the shipwreck, Malta, arrival at Rome, preaching in Rome.

Paul’s trial before Felix, trial before Festus, Festus consults King Agrippa, Paul speaks to King Agrippa.

Through Macedonia and Greece, Eutychus falls out a window and is raised from the dead, Payl’s farewell to the Ephesian elders, to Jerusalem, Paul arrested, Paul speaks to the crowd, Roman citizenship, before the Sanhedrin, plot to kill Paul is thwarted.

Paul addresses the church at Corinth: the God of all comfort, his change of plans, forgiveness for the sinner, ministers of the new covenant, glory of the new covenant, treasures in jars of clay.

The resurrection of Christ, resurrection of the dead, the collection for God’s people, Paul’s personal requests.

Spiritual gifts, the body of Christ with many parts, Love, gifts of prophecy and speaking in tongues, orderly worship.

Paul’s rights as an apostle, warnings from Israel’s history, the believer’s freedom, propriety in worship, The Lord’s Supper

Expel the sinful brother from among you, do not engage in lawsuits outside the church with believers, sexual immorality and the freedom to marry, food sacrificed to idols and refraining from activities that may cause others to sin.

Paul instructs the Corinthians in regards to division among them.

Paul teaches at Corinth then sails for Syria, accompanied by Priscilla and Aquila, who then teach Apollos about Jesus. Paul travels to Ephesus, where disciples receive the Holy Spirit when they believe, and Paul’s preaching has a significant impact on the Ephesians. Sorcerers burn their scrolls and a riot breaks out.

Paul gives thanks for the faith of the Thessalonians, recounts the success of his ministry there, longs to see them again, encourages them to live in such a way to please God, and reminds them of the return of the LORD. Warnings about the man of lawlessness, encouragement to stand firm, warning against idleness.
