Porch Swing Conversations
By Kara Linaburg
Welcome to her back porch, where she's probably in sweatpants and sipping tea. It's all very low-key here.

This One Is For The [Unhappy] Singles Like Me
I'm 23 and I've been single most of my life, but recently, I've really let go of a LOT of anxiety circling around my singleness and it has been so freeing. So sit back with a cup of iced coffee (or tea) for an episode about some cringe-worthy guy stuff I've experienced, as well as how I'm attempting to live my best single life possible.

Read Aloud Of YA "A Study In Terminal"
Take the next thirty minutes to hear Kara read a preview of her upcoming YA novel, "A Study In Terminal," which releases June 7th of this year. Called an "impressive and beautifully layered storyline," and "poignant and visceral," by early reviewers, this book is about the goodbyes we never got to say.

Backstory: Don't let this being from a Christian perspective fool you! World News, in my opinion, honestly does strive to give facts and not just opinion. I have seen articles both for and against the vaccine, neutral thoughts (and only facts) on political campaigns, etc, showing that they do not carry just one opinion and strive to give readers both sides of an argument. I truly appreciate them and the money to get their magazine is so worth it!

Simple Steps |How I Personally Began To Heal|
In "Simple Steps" Kara talks about her own mental health journey and the first steps she took that literally helped save her life.
1. Processing with someone
2. Realizing that everything you believe, isn't always true
3. Don't count out essential oils + natural supplements
4. Care for your physical, which in turns helps with the mental (exercise, y'all!)
5. Pour into others; love on your fellow brokens
There is no shame in what you are feeling. Your feelings may be valid, but you don't have to live with them.
And, as always, remember -- you are loved!

Where Is My Value Defined?
The world tells me that I am not my body--that my value is what I make it. While these words can sound freeing to my personhood, they unintentionally have sent the message that I will NEVER be good enough.
In this episode of "Porch Swing Conversations," Kara shares her own personal struggles with finding the meaning of life, and why these ideals hurt her journey even though they were supposed to help.

This is Me |My Personal Struggle With My Sexual Identity|
I was around the age of eleven when I became dissatisfied with my gender and who I was.
This thought threw me into a whirlwind of depression, anxiety, and darkness that took years of battles, and I am here to stand up against my old ideals that the girl in the mirror was a mistake. Part one of more episodes to come on sexual identity, this episode is a passionate call to loving ourselves as God intended.
If you identify with my personal struggles, please go to www.thebeautifullybrokenblog.com and hit me up so we can talk. You are loved and who you are matters!
