Healthcare CPD professionals play a significant role in how providers care for patients. How does progress in diversity, equity and inclusion factor into continuing education in the health professions? In this episode of the Alliance Podcast, Dr. Russell J. Ledet, MD, PhD, MBA, expands on his Alliance 2023 Annual Conference keynote presentation: “Are We Committed to DEI Progress or Are We Committed to DEI Notoriety?” In conversation with former Alliance Board of Directors member Ann Lichti, FACEhp, Dr. Ledet discusses how healthcare CPD can be a conduit to overcoming racism as a serious public health threat, leveraging existing regulations to educate and foster patient care improvement among learners, and how he envisions CME evolving over the next decade to ensure it addresses new and current challenges in patient care. Plus, Dr. Ledet shares the philanthropic work he is doing along with his triple board residency to break through cultural and racial barriers in healthcare.
