There are indeed dark spiritual forces at work in the world. They are our unseen, invisible enemy. We have to recognize and expose them. In the mighty name of Jesus, call them out and rebuke them and their deceptive and divisive hold on our neighbors, our friends and our family members. It is absolutely crucial that we stop all the arguing and recognize what's really happening. If not, then we're just letting ourselves get played.

Are there some things that don't belong in a church service? I'm sure the answer is yes, but when it comes to rattling off a list of things that shouldn't take place in church it's pretty easy for us to get way off on a tangent. Our opinion on what doesn't belong often depends greatly on our background, the culture, and generally what we're used to. If it's something we don't understand, we may end up condemning it unjustly. Are we guilty of passing judgment on things simply due to our own lack of understanding?

Why do I have to endure pain, sickness, tragedy, emotional scars, etc? On this episode, I want to deal with the trials we face from a slightly different perspective. And I think we'll see that, too often, we get in our own way when it comes to conquering the trying times we all endure. It doesn't matter how bad you have it, your attitude does not have to be ruled by your circumstances. You CHOOSE whether or not to let that happen. If you're willing to put in some effort and really want your life to improve, you CAN choose to change your outlook and better your life. And there's help.

On this episode, I talk about some ways that we can love above and beyond - going all out for one another. God's Word actually teaches us to continually try to "one-up" one another in showing honor and affection. So, how can we achieve this caliber of love for each other? It's time to step up our commitment to loving our fellowman. It's time to take love to the next level.

In this special UNINTERRUPTED podcast, I am joined by my good friend and pastor, Aaron Zielinske. Our great calling as believers in Christ is to replicate ourselves - to witness to others and make more disciples. This is the Great Commission. However, we often tend to place undue limits upon ourselves. We make excuses and convince ourselves that we can't really do that much. Pastor Aaron and I take a deep dive into the importance of witnessing and what it truly means to make disciples.

There has long been a fascination with the idea of zombies, or the living dead. Have you ever pondered this: Why was God so adamant that Adam and Eve be cut off from the Tree of Life? What if our physical existence - though corrupted by sin - had access to immortality? Might it still age and grow feeble due to the curse of sin, and yet, never die? At some point, dying would be preferable, but you can't. Though still alive, you would be as the living dead. Granted, this is mere conjecture. There is another way, however, that we become like the living dead. Listen and find out!

I believe there is an ongoing effort to silence, stamp out, and otherwise control the notion of a free-thinking society. This effort is tied directly to the desire to squash Christianity. If people depend on God as their source of life and liberty, then government lacks a level of power and control that the corrupt among them crave. There are many tools of the trade (so-to-speak) which are used to turn our dependence away from God and onto government. I'll discuss some of those tools in this episode, as well as how we can avoid them.

As believers in Christ, we aren't meant to be on the sidelines. There are no bystanders in the kingdom of God, but there are DOERS of the Word. We are not meant to be comfortable when evil is lurking. We are meant to overcome it with good. Don't believe the lie that you can't make a difference, that there's really nothing of consequence that you can do. We have a calling to leave behind our comfort zone and be heroes for the kingdom. In this uninterrupted episode, we'll talk about this calling, as well as the concept of servant-leadership.

What we build on is important. You can't just erect a house on any old thing. No, you first need to lay a good, solid, firm foundation. THEN, you can start to build the framework. On this episode, we'll deal with this concept as it relates to both our country and our lives as Christians.

On this episode, I wanna talk a bit about the recent calls for "unity." Those doing this speak of unity, when what they really want is conformity. As usual, I'll look at what the Bible has to say on the topic, and we'll try to get the proper perspective.

On this episode, we're talking about misplaced hope. Too many of us tend to invest an unhealthy amount of faith in man - who is flawed - rather than in God - who is completely incorruptible. Some thought we were doomed when Trump became president. Others now think we're doomed since Biden is in office. But is it possible some of us forgot that our hope is not in man? Isn't God on the throne, regardless of who's in the Oval Office? We live in a world that seems to be without hope. It's a world that too often puts its trust in corruptible things and people. But there IS hope. And this hope is for all mankind.

Many people who are fed up with the censorship are opting to leave Facebook, Twitter, and YouTube, in favor of less restrictive platforms like MeWe, Parler, and Rumble. While I understand the frustration, I believe there is more to consider here. In the midst of all the cancel culture, why would you cancel yourself? If our voices are to be heard, leaving Facebook or Twitter isn't the answer. Don't leave a mission field just because of a little opposition. Don't give up ground to the enemy.

Our true enemy will use any and every tool at his disposal to try and cause division, especially within the church. How do we recognize what's really at work when we're in the heat of debate or argument with our fellow believer? And how might we apply this to the divide between us and those who may not believe, but instead staunchly oppose us? How can we hope to overcome the things that tend to separate us? HINT: There is a one-word answer.

It appears that the purge has begun. Indeed, the cancel culture we've been seeing for some time now is pushing into full "purge" mode. Conservative voices have been muzzled in the recent past, but now it seems to be rapidly escalating. Cancel culture is a cancerous disease that is infecting and spreading rapidly through our society. So, what are we supposed to do? One thing is certain: We can't be silent. However, our true source of freedom isn't found within the founding documents of the USA but within our personal relationship with Christ. So How do we keep it all in proper perspective? We'll look at different ways to fast, how it isn't just about abstaining from food, and also the relationship between fasting and prayer. The act of fasting should help bring us into a closer and more focused  communion with the Lord. And it is something that must be done in the right manner and with the correct motivation in order for it to be  effective and beneficial for us. At some point in all our lives, we all get set-straight by our parents, our employers, or perhaps even by our peers. What about when it comes from a spiritual leader in our lives? How do we receive that rebuke? Do we take the correction to heart, or do we rebelliously reject it? When that corrective instruction comes, we must make a choice: Do what's right, or deal with the consequences of going our own way. Everywhere we look nowadays, we see people who have been frightened into or guilted into wearing a face mask. What do the numbers really tell us about the deadliness of the Chinese virus? Why does all the hype and panic persist? What possible motive for keeping us in fear could those in power have? This episode will take on these questions and more. And, oh yeah...fear is a liar. So realize when people are using fear to control you, they are lying to you.

There no longer appears to be room for civil discourse among many in today's society. Freedom of speech is only good when you agree with the popular narrative. In the last truly coherent conversation with our dad, he said, "We ain't got nothing made if we can't get to the point where we love everybody. What we don't agree with is between them and the Lord. We're just supposed to love 'em." His final little sermonette held within it a simple yet fundamental  truth, and it's what everything else boils down to in the end. If you don't have love, you don't have anything.

This is my 30th blog or blogcast since starting the Kingdom Hero website. With this new focus podcasting, I am actually going back to my roots in a sense – back to a familiar place of comfort for me. I started in radio when I was 19, and podcasting is today’s modern equivalent. So I am stoked! The typed out format – or transcript – will remain available on KingdomHeroBlog.com.

Lies. We have to combat them every day, it seems. Lies about our Christian beliefs. Lies about our personal beliefs. When the world is constantly calling evil “good” and good “evil,” is it even worth our time and effort to keep up the fight?

Violent scenes we used to only see in news stories from other parts  of the world have suddenly become more commonplace right here in cities  across the USA. When it all seems so politically and/or racially charged, how should we as Christians respond?

We have become inundated lately with societal notions that are based on flawed beliefs. The divisions and labels we put on ourselves today serve to promote the false idea that humans are different races based on skin color. Our view of these colors is skewed. Rather than seeing the beauty of diversity, we are subdividing ourselves into different groups and - in so doing - we're keeping alive the very racial division we seek to abolish. When we finally see humans as ONE race, displaying many colors and diversities, but united by love... Well, that will be a great day.

Do we allow traditions to become trappings? How are these mental strongholds affecting our lives? What does it mean for something to "exalt itself against the knowledge of God?" Is your own stubbornness a stronghold? Are your personal feelings or preconceived notions becoming strongholds? Is there something in your life that you've allowed to become a part of who you are, but it's something that keeps you from doing God's will? How can we put it all in the right perspective?

You've seen the posts that say "bet you won't share this" - they're used to manipulate you into doing stuff. Manipulation is nothing to take lightly. Its roots are evil. We need to avoid passing on truly manipulative posts, even those which seem innocent. This episode explores why.

Covid panic... Rioting and looting... Social injustices... Is this the end of the world? Are these truly "uncertain" times? Or are our fears being used to try and control us? This episode is a practical look at the rise in fear-mongering and the reasons for it. How should we view these things in light of our faith?

As Christians, how should we view conservation of our planet? What does the Bible say about how we ought to treat God's creation? Is this even important? Should we be concerned with our natural resources? What does it mean to have "dominion" over the Earth?

Satan knows the scriptures. Let that sink in. How much more important is it that WE know the scriptures?! The enemy will twist passages out of context and use them to attack our faith. People who don't understand what the scriptures are referring to or what the context was will toss misquoted Bible verses in our faces in an attempt to make a mockery of Christianity. It is imperative that we study the Word of God closely, and equally important to realize that "scripture interprets scripture." It does NOT contradict itself. We have to know the truth of the Word in order to spread that truth clearly and refute the misconceptions of those who are blinded to that truth.

A lack of understanding between people is greatly promoted by our lack of empathy. None of us can really understand what someone else is going through because we haven't "walked in" that person's shoes. There is One who purposefully placed Himself in our shoes. Jesus was God, but He came in the flesh to experience everything we do. Only He can understand the human condition in every way. He has insight into our lives that we don't fully understand, and He's the One who can help us when no one else can.

How should we respond as Christians to the growing popularity of alternative genders? Is it wrong to hold onto the traditional idea of two created genders? What's the root cause of this modern phenomenon? What are the dangers of redefining yourself socially as something you're not physically? How does God see you, and how should that affect your view of yourself?

Another short episode, dealing with the topic of praise and worship as an open invitation to God to pour Himself into our midst. When His presence is experienced, it's like NOTHING ELSE!

There are some who question the practice of many modern churches that have darkened most of their auditoriums in favor of alternate stage lighting. Opponents of this say it's just "theatrics." They say, "they're just putting on a show." Is this a fair judgement? Or are there legitimate reasons for this type of lighting that these people simply don't understand? As the AV Director at my church, I hope to "shed some light" on this topic so that it makes sense to everyone.

This one's mainly for the guys. Are we making excuses for our own shortcomings with regard to how we respond to seeing an attractive woman? Have you ever blamed a woman for showing a little too much skin? Is this a problem you have but refuse to own and deal with? Is it really HER fault for being attractive and dressing in a way that causes you to have inappropriate thoughts? Or are you simply succumbing to fleshly desires and shifting the blame?

Often times, when things go off the rails in our lives, we become consumed by our circumstances. We may even wallow in self pity. It's easy in those times to focus on the negative. It's HARD sometimes to keep in mind that none of it caught God by surprise. He knows all about it, and He's always working things out for our good (if we are those who love Him and are called according to His purpose). This episode reminds us that God holds our lives in His hands. Trust Him.

Another buzz word today is the term "privilege." People complain about "male privilege," "white privilege," etc. But are these concepts fair? This episode exposes the truth about these issues and shines a light on what real privilege is.

This Bible study deals with "those on the king's right" and "those on the king's left." The significance of these positions will become obvious as we examine this passage about separating sheep from goats. The symbolism of "sheep" and "goats" will also be studied. In the end, which one will apply to us?

Our faith has been hijacked by the world. They THINK they know what we believe, but it's a twisted view. How are we representing our hope in Jesus? Are we effectively countering the lies the world believes about us? Do we live out our faith for all to see? This episode works to set the record straight about some misconceptions of Christianity.

Jesus referred to "the Kingdom of Heaven" often in His ministry. What did He want us to know about it? How did He want us to live our lives as that kingdom draws near? Our goal as believers isn't just to one day get into this kingdom, but also to reach as many other people with the message of Christ so that THEY can enter it, as well.

What is worship? How is it different from praise? What is the importance of worship in our lives? Perhaps you never gave it much thought, but that's the reason for this episode. The truth is that worship is a fundamentally vital part of our Christian walk, and it's worth a closer look.

Is there too much clutter in your life? Are there constant distractions that keep you from doing the things you know you should? Do these distractions hinder your walk with God? This episode was inspired by the Holy Spirit recently prodding me to de-clutter my life. If anything sounds familiar, perhaps He's been prodding you, too.

We love to read the verse that says God "will give us the desires of our hearts." But are we taking it out of context? Do you imagine God as some genie in a lamp that grants you wishes? This episode examines the true meaning of this familiar passage of the Bible and what it should mean to us.

Love is portrayed by the entertainment industry as being synonymous with sex. This does a major disservice to the concept of love. Is it the warm-fuzzies you feel when you're attracted to someone? Is it something deeper? Can we even define it? This episode, with the aid of scripture, attempts to discern the truth about love.

What is the cost of freedom? How should we view our leaders' actions in light of how their actions affect our rights and freedoms? We will draw on historical lessons to answer these questions and more. We'll also view the topic from the standpoint of the Christian believer.
