Red River Downfall Episode 24

Though promises were not kept, food was scarce and climate unbearable. Tobacco Industry in the Talbot Settlement Episode 20
Today we will be talking about a plant that was very important to the Talbot Settlement and all of Canada as a whole. August 16 –On this date, American militia and some of their native allies arrive at Port Talbot with the intent of taking Colonel Talbot to Detroit and extorting a high ransom for his release. They also plan to ravage the settlement. This time Talbot is in residence and narrowly escapes.

War of 1812 Part One Episode 9
Today, our focus will be the War of 1812 and its impact on the Talbot Settlement. In addition to surviving in a new world, the early settlers to Upper Canada found themselves faced with war. The United States declared war on Great Britain, and while the major battles in Upper Canada took place closer to the Niagara Escarpment and area, the effects were felt into the Talbot Settlement. Even though there were battles from Upper and Lower Canada, the east coast of the United States, and even naval engagements, we will be focusing on the battles and their effect on the people of central and western Elgin County.

Scottish Settlers in Aldborough Episode 6

Welcome to Episode 2 of Life in the Talbot Settlement.
Who is the founder of the Talbot Settlement? Thomas Talbot was responsible for placing settlers in what would become 29 townships along the north shore of Lake Erie in southwestern Ontario.
