Deidre Thompson Resolute Advocacy And Intervention
I'm a married mom of three sons. I live in a frat house! Two are teenagers living exceptional lives with autism. My oldest is experiencing puberty, autism, and was recently diagnosed with DMDD so I am experienced in some components of mental health as well. My sons are the reason I became an advocate. I was experiencing a breakdown in communication with the school, I didn't know my parents' rights, and I often felt overwhelmed and alone at IEP meetings. I googled a free conference one day and found the Oklahoma Parents Center. I also joined a local support group here in Muskogee called Autism Muskogee, under the larger statewide umbrella of Autism Oklahoma. I went on to later be recruited as a trainer for the Oklahoma Parents Center and trained parents and attended meetings as an advocate for four years. I then became the support group leader of Autism Muskogee after my mentor retired about six years ago.
I have a strong background in working with and advocating for children. I am a former CASA volunteer turned coordinator, I served on the Oklahoma Rehabilitation Council while I worked for OPC, and now I serve on the Board of Directors for the Oklahoma Disability Law Center.
I went into private practice as an educational consultant because parents kept finding me via Facebook and would direct message me for help. I continued to help families and decided to make it official by starting my own business. Most of my clientele is in Tulsa or the surrounding districts but I cover the entire state of OK and have assisted families in other states as well.

He also shared about The Global Garden, Global Garden is a local Tulsa based profit organization which aims to partner with Tulsa public school to teach students how to grow a garden. They basically involve underprivileged childrens to learn about nutrition and also how to grow their own food. They also teach peace initiatives to childrens to resolve conflicts through peaceful resolution.
