Live 4 Financial Freedom

People can sell their homes by themselves if they want to do the leg work and learn what they need to do to sell it. Some people may hire a lawyer to help them with the paperwork or hire a service to put it on MLS.  Before I became a Realtor, I used Real Estate Agents to help me buy and sell my homes and Investment properties. I used them because I wanted the most money for my properties and wanted to sell them quickly. That is why I hired full service and Realtors to market my investments. Each month that I owned something there is cost of owning most properties. From Taxes, Utilities to possible HOA fees and more.

Some people feel they can just put a sign in their yard and it will sell. They could be right. Some think just putting it on the MLS will sell it fast and they could be right. I just know for me I want to do my best to not just sell it quickly but I want to get the most money for my investment as I can. So, I used to look for a realtor that did more than just a sign in the yard and putting my home or Investment property on MLS. I wanted a realtor that is going to actively Market my investment and make it a priority and not just another listing.

We want to give our boys education on home ownership and the best chances to have their money last them thru their retirement years and have them reach their Financial Freedom goals. They need to live somewhat with a frugal mindset and spend less than they make so they can Invest towards their Financial Freedom goals. The boys will need to maybe put off Net Flix or buying a New Video game or going to the movies until they are on the path to Financial Freedom.

If you don’t know our story of how we ended up in Arizona let me tell you. It started about 9 years ago and we were living in the Midwest and finished up a really cold and gloomy winter. We said let’s pick a place to live at that we would want to retire at someday. So, we made a list of several warm states and decided on Arizona. Darlene liked Arizona for the Dry Heat for her bones and joints. I liked it for Golf all year around and lower taxes. We also wanted to move before the kids were in High School. Now the boys both say they never want to leave Arizona. Darlene and myself feel the same way.

 I like asking people I meet here what brought them to Arizona and how long they have lived here. I like hearing their stories. Some were raised here in Arizona and never wanted to leave. Some came here for college and never wanted to leave. Some came for a job transfer and some came for similar reasons that we did. Everyone has a story and why they live here in Arizona. Of course, we have snow birds also that live half the year here and the other half somewhere else. Snowbirds are normally here from October to May.

Over the years I have used both Pre-Qualified and Pre-Approved letters in the past when I was making overs on homes to live in or Investment properties. Of course, now a days I am a fan of Pre-Approved since it can speed up the buying process and being pre-approved for an exact loan amount with a written commitment letter.

I know it is much easier to get a Pre-Qualified letter when house shopping but lets explore the differences between pre-qualified and pre-approved loans. Remember I am not Loan Expert and that you should seek advice from a Mortgage lender for information that’s best for you.

Not everyone is ready to sell their house but they may be in the future. I know for myself I have moved many times. In the last 10 years I have moved 4 times. We do plan on staying in our current house but we never know what our future may bring us so we are always ready in case we would need to sell our house. Today we are going to talk Real Estate News. I know the world is always changing and everyone has their own opinion. Some people are negative and think it is doom and gloom and others say things are doing great. Darlene and myself aren’t looking at selling anytime soon but we do enjoy how our house has gone up in value.

We hope our boys will purchase a house when they move out instead of paying high rents and not having anything in return after those rent payments. They need to get their finances in line first and re-read our Money Secrets book. LOL

More and more kids are living at home after High School and College. Even with a College Degree it can be challenging to buy a house. Rents in a lot of places around the country are really high so it may be a huge challenge for them to rent their own place and save enough money to buy a house someday.

I was reading something in the past that talked about Mark Cuban and how after he made a lot of money from selling off one of his businesses, he still wanted to live like he was in college. I like reading about Mark Cuban and Elon Musk. Elon Musk is another person who lived simple early on. Rumors are he is back to living simple again. Who knows for sure. But they both have very inspiring stories for anyone who wants to reach their financial freedom goals.

Over the years my wife and myself have talked about if it would be better for us to Rent out a place to live or to own a House. Seems like after we get hit with a big house repair expense, we say we should rent. Then when we have rented in the past and they do a big yearly rent increase we say we should be owning a house. We can’t win. LOL, we feel for our situation in the long run we are way ahead on owning houses than not. But everyone has different situations and needs or what they can handle.
